He didn't like the 9th against Joshua in that second fight. But in fairness to Usyk, the guy went from 193lbs to 225lbs in like three weeks during the prep for that fight because he was stressed out in Ukraine.

Chill Dubois a beast but he never stood a chance. Usyk just toyed with him, and he walked in threw 2 lazy shots to condition Dubois arms to go lower, then Usyk took a step in with his hands down tightening his gloves, walked right up on Dubois, and sniped him right in the jaw. That’s why Usyk walk back like that looking over at his corner like yeah this shxt over I hit him clean on chin he def don’t know where he’s at right now.

The punch at 1:09 landed in the same place; the only difference was the trajectory. The ref called it low there, and he called the exact placement of the shot low in round 5. He was consistent.
He called it low after Usyk complained it was low which might have influenced the ref a little.

Whether it is low blow or not
1. If referee say its not how do u know Usyk can't get up early
2. There is no point deduction
3. Why dubois rage, if he is good fighter he could win other round
Despite this being one of Usyk's off-nights, he decisively dominated the fight against Dubois. Also, in spite of enduring heavy punches to his midsection, he displayed remarkable resilience. Therefore, those claiming Usyk is weak to body shots are simply jesters.
After the Fury fight the "weak to the mid section" comments have been proven false. Fury landed a load of nice body shots that didn't bother Usyk.

A punch on the protector (belt and cup) is illegal under WBA rules. The protector must be worn 1 inch below the trunks but not exceed the naval. Bottom line is it was a punch on the protector, the ref waived it off immediately before Usyk knees even touch the ground cos he had clear view of it.

P.S. WBC was obviously not on the line for this fight. Fury had it before Usyk beat him.

It was a crazy bait too because after Dubois was exhausted Usyk threw those 2 lazy shots to get Dubois arms down, then took one step in with his hands down as he was tightening his gloves, then just pinpointed a clean jab at point blank range with full hip rotation.

Look at how low Usyk's belt is compared to Dubois'. It's no wonder some people are thinking it was a legal shot. Yes, Dubois hit the belt, but still connected beneath the bellybutton due to how low his belt is, which makes it a technical low blow.

@@adrien6094 I slowed it down and tried to go frame by frame but that one is a little harder to judge. The angle of the punch was downward so maybe that was a little low although not intentional.

Since when!? It was always said “No hitting BELOW the belt” I have never heard no hitting ON the belt.
Usyk is very lucky that the ref called that a low blow, because shots exactly like that don’t get called low usually. Technically it may have been low. Im not really sure, but regardless, Usyk would not have got up off the canvas had the ref started counting. Usyks reaction was very much a body shot reaction (not a punch in the balls reaction), and he was physically trembling and trying to breath. Dubois would have learned a lot from this fight that will hold him in good stead.
I watched it live and honestly dubois did much better than I expected given how similar he is to joshua, but just a lesser version

I’ve literally paused the frame where the shot landed on Usyk, Usyks bollocks are by his bellybutton? He got robbed of a knockdown at the very least.

It wasnt a terrible fight... Daniel was able to trade at times, and may have even stunned Usyk a time or two, Daniel is a young fighter, and has more to learn, he's in the heavyweights to he has some time to play with as far as age goes. Although I would say he's kinda showing some glass cannon signs there (Shannon Briggs), in that he unloads and he's spent, and if he hasnt got the chin to take the punches, he should atleast develop the defenses to avoid so many of them. Usyk is just plain good, maybe plain isnt the word to use to describe it, but hes damn good, smart man, ring generalship, and movement suits him well. All in all a good fight, might be worth looking at for rematch since Usyk has taken down the Gypsy Queen.
