I appreciate you taking the time to evaluate all of these choices in optics, DLO. I just subscribed and always follow you on the Hide (Desert Raven). Your insights and ability to be honest and unbiased make a lot of difference in how I have chosen my optics. Please know this work is appreciated!! Cheers to more scope evaluation videos. I’m sure you are enjoying this process.
Really appreciate your efforts with these video Ilya, the CA with the Steiner was very obvious, but the FOV around the 20x Mark was pretty decent, you’ve helped shortlist my scope choices! Thank you sir!
did you end up doing it? I have a Mark 5 and a NF ATACR 7-35. thinking of selling them both and using the funds for a ZCO, Tangent Theta, or maybe one of these Minox
@@SkinnySkinch No problem. They are all going to be in the coversation of amazing scopes. I cant actually say Ive compared them all in person but the TT and ZCO are going to be really close. The TT probably has the edge on glass and turret clicks but the rest would go to ZCO. Then you have the Minox right behind them and the S&B and ATACR 7-35 would be neck and neck.
@@theitalian556 yeah I really thought the ATACR 7-35 would be the end all scope for me for the rest of my life. But the eye box at the top 50% of mag range is just awful compared to something like a razor HD. I really don't like it. Even at 27x it's not as good as the razor at 27x. That's just eye box though. Glass is excellent and there is significantly less chromatic aberration than the two razors I have or my Mark 5/Mark 6 scopes (3-18 models). My biggest complaint is just the eye box so im searching for a top tier glass with the most forgiving eye box. I like being able to quickly mount the rifle and take shots without fiddling so much with getting a PERFECT cheek position.
Fantastic comparison of the reticles Ilya, my PM2 holds the H2CMR reticle, state of the art when I bought it, but trends seem to change fast😉 I also like the DLS2 and LRD1-p reticles of my Delta Strykers, really like the very fine floating center dot, it is very convenient for precision shooting.
That zco looked beautiful i think that will be my next scope. Hows warranty? I also have to say the mk5 preformed pretty well considering its less than half the price of most of these! I was really surprised the TT looked like one of the worst looked dark and hazey compared to the zco looked like it worked as a high end camera lense
Thanks for the great videos , I am looking at getting one of the Schmidt 5x25 scopes . I have a ZCO already do you think I will be disappointed? It’s 1000 dollars cheaper
Tough call. 5-25x56 still holds up surprisingly well, but the newer scopes, like the ZCO and Schmidt 6-36x are better. If I were buying a precision scope right now, this 6-36x that is currently discounted down to $3k would be at the top of my list alnk.to/faCcy4J
It is a perfectly reasonable reticle. I do not like the funnel very much and it is generally designed for people who primarily dial, while I do a lot of quick reticle corrections. It is well done though given the design goals
Opposite ends of the spectrum but i must ask. Have you ever veiwed Arken optics. Your reveiws carries weight...beleave me i know there is no comparsion to a tier 1 scope but would like your input if possible and like your work with meopta. Thanks.
I've only seen them briefly at SHOT Show. I plan to review one when they add illumination. They seemed like pretty decent scopes, but the reticle is quite thin, so I decided to wait until an illuminated version is available. Naturally, COVID slowed everything down, otherwise it would probably already have been introduced.
@@DarkLordOfOptics thanks for your reply...and i cant critique an optic like this....but top tier really better pick up the pace..i think it really says something about SB.. Being still viable.. Thanks again.
Hi DLO. Thx for the great info and content. IK it derail from the subject of your video but did you tested the Eotech Vudu riflescope? What your honest opinion them?
@@robertmagnstrom6088 V8 is a mystifying design to me. I have seen a few briefly and they were very underwhelming. Sufficiently so that I decided to not do a full test. Z8, Magnus, Blaser and Polar are very good. I slightly prefer Leica Magnus and Blaser to the others, but it is a personal preference. All are very good. I think Z8 gives up too much exit pupil on low power to get the magnification ratio. Magnus is more forgiving on low power. Blaser is kinda new, but their 1-7x28 is the best LPVO I have ever seen. Polar is interesting, but I kinda prefer PMII versions of it.
Had a Z8 2-16 that I liked BUT the illumination knobs are really bad when hunting wintertime. Swithed to the V8 and I like it better, maybe not the glass but I find the ergonomins/handling a LOT better. Haven’t looked at the Magnus or the Polar but the polar interests me.
@@robertmagnstrom6088 It does not get very cold where I live, so that is not an issue I run into. I did not have any problem using Z8 with gloves on, but maybe it gets worse in the cold. As far as reticle illumination and its control go, I thought that Blaser had the best solution for my purposes.

Hello, how would you rate Night Force ATARC vs ZCO and Steiner M7Xi? For clarity and tracking?
Which specific models? They are not all the same.

I am looking at the 5-25x50 right now. I'll have some impressions in a day or two.
Have you done any writeups/reviews? What are your top three of these optics?
Not much beyond this video for now. It will be on my website.
How about reviewing some high-end hunting scopes?
I have looked at most of them. Which ones are you interested in?
V8, Z8, Zeiss HT, S&B Polar etc

so is zero compromise use euro or Japanese glass.
They use German schott glass, they use there hd/ed and then coat the lenses with there own coatings
