10. No Trees. Djibouti is one of the 16 countries in the world where there are almost no trees. Studies have been conducted and they show that less than 1% of the land coverage in Djibouti has a forest cover. This is probably attributed to the Grand Barra desert which covers most of the country
9. Young Country. Djibouti is considered a young country. Statistics show that more than 50% of the country's population is under the age of 25 years. The interpretation of this data basically indicates a big percentage of labour force which is available in the country
8. Lake Assal. Lake Assal of Djibouti is the lowest point below sea level on the African continent. A part of this lake contains very salty water which is brought in by hot springs. Lake Assal and two other major lakes which include Don Juan pond and the Gaetale pond found in the Antarctica are considered the saltiest lakes in the world
7. Bizarre Landscape. Djibouti is home to the Bizarre landscape of Lac Abbe. This is a plateau which is dotted with hundreds of Limestone chimneys. Some of these chimneys are as high as 50 meters high passing out big puffs of steam. So definitely, this is one of those things that you should go check out in this beautiful country of Djibouti
6. Affar Triple Junction. Djibouti is situated on a plane better known as the Affar Triple Junction where the three divergent segments of the Earth's crust that's; The African, Arabian and the Somalian plates tear away from each other.
5. Offical Languages. The official languages spoken in Djibouti are the Somali, The Affar and the French language. The country has two major ethnic groups and those are the Somali and the Affar people whereas French came as a result of the country's former colonial masters who were the French
4. Military Bases. Djibouti has got several military bases of other countries including; The French base, The US Base and also the Chinese Military base.
3. Narcotics Freedom. The addictive narcotic known as Khat is widely enjoyed by Djiboutians. This leaf is imported from Kenya and Ethiopia in bulk and it's regarded as a stimulant drug which speeds up message communication going between the brain and the body
2. High Urban Population. Djibouti which is a country with a current population of One million people as of the time of recording this video in 2022. Statistics show that 76% of the total population of the country is concentrated around Djibouti city which makes Djibouti one of the countries in the world with the highest urban population percentage.
1. 3RD Smallest Country. Djibouti poses as the 3rd smallest country on mainland Africa only coming after Swaziland which is found in the Southern part of the African continent and also The Gambia which is found in West Africa.

I have a different theory that, the name Djibouti 🇩🇯 comes from the ancient Egyptian God’s name Thehuti. After all, Somalis were related to ancient Egyptians
All these theories could be correct Lina because what we have today was information that was transferred from generation to generation by word of mouth

Interesting information about Djibouti. It is amazing how there are no tree in the country.
Just wondering why these foreign armies love basing in the African regions. There's more to just security purposes than what most people know. I am also suprised that the somali ethnic group is the biggest in that country. This is was a beautiful collection of the country. Loved watching

Im from djibouti..and i know for a fact that the name Djibouti come from the word "butti" witch means bere in somali language..and dont forget that the somali language has many dialekt..when we were kids old folks used to scare us with..dont go the couse the the "butti" Will catch u n eat u..
