Yes. Star is Born... Bradley Cooper is who you're thinking of and... YES! I often classify 2019 as the year of Kirstie... she has a pretty prominent part in Come Along as well as Can You Feel the Love Tonight as well.

I love this cover of Shallow! Kevin still blows my mind with his simultaneous beatboxing and violin playing! Kirsten’s voice really stands out in this one! Matt’s bass is really smooth! Mitch and Scott are outstanding, as well! Your reaction was great!
Kevin calls it "celloboxing", and a viral video of him doing it is how the trio found him to go on The Sing-off as a group.
I know you will love their cover of Making Christmas. Matt’s bass really shows off in that cover. Plus Mitch and Matt harmony’s are just majestic

A lot of their newer stuff actually feature Kirstie a lot, because she grew a lot vocally and in her confidence in recent years. Not that she wasn't an amazing vocalist before, but she developed so much depth in her voice, it's incredible. And confidence is very important too, obviously, because she needs to be able to carry a live performance of the song through her stage presence.
Great reaction as always and since you mentioned Come Along, you should definitely do that one :D.
I think Kirstin's time on Broadway contributed to her growth, both vocally and in confidence.
I watched all their performances from Sing Off again last night, and yes, she has definitely come a long way in her vocal ability and confidence (not that I didn't love her then too!) but was able to compare.
Huge Pentatonix fan from their Sing Off days. The best!
@@janetranslates I feel that she had to have gotten some vocal training there because she came back with so much development in such a short time...and the sideways vocals went away. A long time ago, when PTX was still doing Periscopes via Patreon and taking questions from patrons, I asked them all if they still take voice lessons and if they take a vocal coach with them on tour. They replied that no, they didn't, but that they would like to start voice lessons again. I think they should do that. As their voices mature, they should have professional guidance. I think Kirstin got some training during her run on Broadway. Thank you for the link! I haven't seen that one, so I'll watch it right now.

In Dec I was blessed to hear PTX in Charleston SC OMG unbelievable how wonderful they were. I am 77 yrs old and a huge fan of all their music as is my neighbor s 15 yr old granddaughter

Would LOVE to see you react to Pentatonix doing "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine, from way back when they were on The Sing-Off. It will forever be one of their most goosebump-giving performances IMO.

There are a lot of songs which don't exploit Kirstin's true strengths. This is one of the group that does. Look for the songs where she can sing low. She's a superstar when it's less about high notes. I mean she's a good Mezzo-soprano, but even lower is where she's beautiful rather than merely good.

I discovered you last night by just looking up videos. I started at 9pm....didn’t stop watching till 1am 😂 you are great and LOVE your commentary. BUTTTTT you need to listen and watch Imagine by pentatonix...SO GOOD.
I would also highly recommend Shatter Me by Lindsey Sterling. Absolutely intense and powerful.

Floor (Jansen, of Nightwish) did a version in the Beste Zangers for Shallow. It's very intimate and my favorite cover for this song. I love PTX's version but Floor's version leaves me speechless every time.

I'm gonna recommend La La Latch. It's a catchy, beautiful mashup they made. Of course like all their arrangements everyone is great but with the focus on the higher notes Kirstie & Mitch are the standouts in that one.
Of course, you really can't go wrong with any PTX song. Even if it's one that's a genre you don't really listen to much, they are always so amazing with their performance.

I would also recommend you take a look at a band called Liliac. 5 siblings that make some seriously cool covers of old metal / rock songs + some originals.
