I love how this game has a different atmosphere from everything else in the franchise. So peaceful, yet so sad and lonely at times.

What a different composer does. Plus, Sakamoto is one of my favorites. It took me by surprise that he was the composer instead of Uematsu. I love his Dragon's Crown work, especially the City Street track.

This one was a very strong impact. You're entering Archades, the most powerful nation in the world. You're expecting to see a powerful empire, an imposing structure more spectacular tha anything you've ever seen so far in the story. The reality is so cruel, you soon see the sad backside of every powerful nation.

This song has a special place in my heart, along with this game... and to hear it orchestrated... i cant help but to weep, seriously... child tears of joy... this song reminds me of my chilhood and how i felt so far away from reality when i played this game, it is simply amazing.
It pisses me off when people talk shit about it, this is my first and favorite Final Fantasy and probably my favorite game of all time...nothing i played was quite like the adventure i had at Ivalice.... seems stupid, but it's true... I am so happy that Square Enix remembered it and released a remastered version.

This game remember me how life was so easy and simple as a child. Running in the desert, killing cactuar, doing all exceptly the main quest lol. The time was not important. This game will always have a VIP place in my heart. I received Final Fantasy XII as a christmas gift when I was 13 years (now 22 years). My mother and my father were still together. At this time, I didn't know about the climate crisis, and human killing each other, my mind was innocent. Thanks Final Fantasy XII and also to my dear Ivalice. 2022 edit: Now with Covid it's worse lol.

PREACH. FFXII is still my favorite FF. After replaying the game recently, I picked up on the plot much more this time around now that I'm older. It reminds me of the politic drama from a show like The Walking Dead or Vikings. It's a little more mature than much the other FFs. Unlike XV, the plot is all explained and laid out in-game. Unlike XIII, the game is very sprawling and immersive, not overly locked at all. The plot takes the backseat to adventuring and hunting, like Breath of the Wild in a way. The environments and music are so beautiful and feel (imo) generally more sophisticated. Sakimoto and his composer team are some of my all time favorites.

What I love most about Old Archades is the duality of its NPCs; half dream of "making it" to the capitol as successful members of society, while the other half have already tried, only to find out that living the lifestyle required to "make it" into the city proper is one of selfish deception, and decided to come back to live a happier life despite the conditions.

I mean it changes to a more hopeful tune after killing the King Behemoth (I think it was) but I found that place to be equally as sad, a place full of refugees been sent out or struggling to return to their homes and families, only to find the empire is after them every step they go, they wonder If they'll even make it back alive or if being back home will be safe.
