- Fair Isle Knitting or Stranded Knitting is a wonderful way to incorporate colorwork into your knitting. This video provides a tip on how to fix the jog in your pattern that occurs when knitting in the round. It's a simple fix that makes your finished project look so much better.
Be sure to also watch Fair Isle Knitting Part 1 which gives an intro to fair isle knitting, shows you how to read a color chart and how to hold your yarn when knitting with two colors. Part 2 explains how to catch your floats when knitting Fair Isle.

Brilliant. I could never get that it is the shorter stitch that you pick up and nio the longer one until now. Thanks.
You’re welcome 😊. Thanks for reaching out.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I am about to start my first colourwork sweater and was looking for a video on how to avoid the jog in the round, but the only videos I could find were for stripes. I was confused as to when to use this trick in fair isle knitting (every time I switched colours or just when going from one round in an entire color to another round in an entire color or something else) but it makes sense to just do it every round! Many many many thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful! Best of luck on your sweater. I’m sure it will turn out beautiful!!
Thank you very much for this, very clear and helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks.
Thank you so much for this simple but effective tip! Your video was well done; clearly explained and illustrated directions and zoomed in just the right amount. Thank you!

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
This is really helpful! Thanks! Could you share or point me to the chart for the pattern you demonstrated (diamonds and zig zags)?
Thanks for reaching out. The charts I used for these patterns were found in the Vogue Knitting Ultimate Stitch Dictionary. It can be found on Amazon - here is a link: amzn.to/3FKJQFc
It contains hundreds of stitches and color patterns. A great resource to have. Happy Knitting!!
Love this video, but would be so much more enjoyable to follow without the music
I’m so sorry about that. Yes I realized too late it is a bit distracting.
