Lovely collection and a great example of how different sculptors and manufacturers can come together to a single marvelous army. Can't wait to see them painted.
Dude when I say this I mean it with all my heart, you warm my heart with your videos. You legend I sadly lost what be a treasure trove of a collection in today's market to an over zelous mother with no concept of the worth of 80s and early 90s Gw after i left home. But recently discovered some survived the bin. An motley section of the first eldar, Some GW 2000Ad including a Rogue trooper and Dread, a still boxed dark future box of virgin cars and bikes , some dwarves , one Gimli whom may not be Gw but awesome as well as odd archers knights half a plastic beaky . Now back with me , also a ghostbuster gun and one balding action man. Im considering going to salute 2024 . I used to practice zen meditation religiously but lost my drive. Painting sculptuing with milliput and kitbashing have really been an anchor and the next best thing.
@@stompie51perhaps it's better my mother laid waste as I recall the majority being Dawi Zharr. Sadly just a lone dwarf remains with a hand axe amd helmet with a boar atop and I think amd eagle upon his sheild
Sorry. Just saw the message was longer. Cannot believe your mum BINNED the miniatures. Mine knew they were holy. I did however foolishly sell loads for not very much in the 1990s. You don’t know something will become rare at a point when it isn’t. Painting is like meditation. The art of it keeps me sane in the face of work and domestic commitments, though I shouldn’t complain about them. Got to Salute! It’s fantastic. Alas I cannot make it these days as on Saturdays and we tend to have too much on. Hope you use the Dark Future minis.
Only now seeing this, didn't get notifications from YT. I'm up to 28 distinct Slayer sculpts plus the characters now. ;) Thanks for the mention! Didn't realize you were such a big Dwarf aficionado, that's a very cool collection. I personally prefer a bit more strict uniformity for my own collection, but I certainly can see the appeal in doing it your way as well as you have the chance to pick out your favourite sculpts from here and there. I'm doing the same thing with my Dwarfs, but within GW's ranges from the 80s up to early 00s. Great stuff, I for one would be glad to see more videos on your Dwarfs.
Most kind. I’m hoping as I paint these up they will start to look more uniform. They probably don’t to others. They’ve seen a good few games now though. The artillery generally smashes my opponent so much I have started using a different faction because without the artillery the dwarfs are too slow to get good outflanks etc. I will need to work to the 28…
@@stompie51 There's a definite red line there with the collection, maybe a couple of pieces I think go stylistically a bit far, but I'm sure the paintjob will bring those in too and most are stylistically similar enough anyway so a bit of leeway there is fine. Not that I'm the arbitor of such things anyway, just my taste. :) We'll see how my Dwarf army does as I have no blackpowder weapons at all, but I do have a catapult and a couple of bolt throwers so together with the crossbows it should be enough to force the enemy to close the distance. If not, that's fine, I built the army fully around what I found cool anyway so I'm happy to lose while looking so fabulous anyway. I found it interesting you had no Dwarf Miners of any kind, doesn't KoW support such a unit or they just don't tickle your fancy? I think the 90s GW Dixon miners are some of the best Dwarf models out there and I'm sure other manufacturers have released their takes on the archetype along the years.
All those lovely old dwarves, lots of character and styles yet together it works and represents the diversity of a hold coming together, maybe calling on a favour from fellow kin, to unite against the enemy. They'll be glorious painted. If you were to do more videos, I'll have to watch them.. no one wants to offend the dwarves.
I think they work together. The Kev Adams ones look older and will be given greyer beards. The casting room ones look fatter and younger. And as you say they are a diaspora people splashed out across places with different cultures and styles, so I guess a mix of Renaissance, medieval and high fantasy kind of works. Especially as I have one painting style and that should unify them too. If I can get round to it 😁and no, you shouldn’t offend a dwarf by ignoring their hospitality…
@@stompie51 I have precisely 1 dwarf. Hes in a barrel holding 2 axes like something out of the hobbit. I plan on printing some highland miniatures dwarves though. Very nice models. I do have a few chaos dwarves too. Thanks for the videos!
@@stompie51 The early 1980s stuff yes. The 1990's Fantasy Warriors line is what I'm refering to and I find them large enough but your taste may vary. Happy hunting.
I’ll have to look into this. Also noticed John Pickford has done a lot of various Oldhammer dwarf cavalry for Assault Group. I have however just dropped £140 on some Oldhammer orcs GW just released as part of Warhammer in the Old World. So that will be me for a while…
A good video to watch with a morning cup of tea. Bonner and Adams are gods! ❤
Thanks for the message. I’m just in shock at the time you wake up on a Sunday morning!

Thank you for that comment. I can proudly say that since this video I have painted 10 dwarfs!
Wow! The Crown of Command archive with the Dr. The Viking. Man that was a long time ago now 😅 thanks for the shout out Stompie
I’ve been working my way through your archive on Apple Podcasts for the last fortnight. Been good fun.

My Dwarfs are tucked away in my army transport case to be taken to our games day here in Japan to play Warhammer Renaissance
I’ll bet yours are all painted too 😝
@@stompie51 of course mate lol
Love the variety you’ve got there! Can’t wait to get some dwarves sculpted for my Grinning Skull range once I’ve finished my gnomes!
And after the crazed gun toting chickens.
@@stompie51 I’m onto fantasy stuff at the moment, so mutants chucks will have to get put on the back burner!
@willgrundy9432 Fantasy Fried Chicken.
Wonderful collection! Thanks for sharing. I would love to see the mins in more detail :)
Thanks. I’ll work through them then over coming weeks. Have some Deadzone first. 😊

Pleasure. Highland are great. The diorama you mention sounds great fun.
Bear cavalry? Mirliton miniatures sell a lot of the old Grenadier Fantasy Warriors miniature lines. Take a look at their dwarves.
They’re beautiful but kind of too small, no?

Also checkout the maxmini dwarf rang it’s small but I think it’ll fit your oldhammer vibe really well!
I’ve been eyeing them up on Facebook. Think that’s a good call.
Been waiting for your next fantasy update
And there will be a lot more, albeit interspersed with my other bits and pieces. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
More Dwarves then you can shake a stick at
I see…
Paint da dwarves yuh bum! 😙
