Good video Delray. Thanks for the info on Chevy motors and how they interchange. Good to see you back. I'm all about what the kids call "old school". Still balancing engines myself with a 3 beam balance scale. I've got a bored and stroked 283 and had to use smaller pulleys on it. Its a 501 now. Got tired of slinging the impeller off the water pump.
I put a 70 Elcamino up on a 4x4. The body was in ok shape and that was back in 1980.LOL. Yours looks in EXCELLENT SHAPE. Except that floor patch that wasnt done right. Thats definitely a Great Car/ truck...I put mine up on a 1972 Ford pickup. Believe it or not the body mounts were close to lining up with the Frame body mounts. I just built a Body lift to get them hooked up. LOL..HAHA. That were badass cars back in the day. Love those old Elcaminos..
I have a 1990 caprice i exchange motor with same year truck motor with 168th tooth flexplate so i had to use a starter with staggered bolts but starter without shims make grinding noise when cranking then after i shim outside bolt on starter it cranks about 3 times and grind even if i have the teeth align with a 1/8 gap starter still grinds and when i check teeth alignment again its a wider gap then before starter bolt torqued down and all
What I do on the starter if gap way to big. Instead of stacking shims on out side. I file a little bit on starter to block mount side it puts it closer to the flex plate.
Your knowledge and explanation are outstanding. Thanks.
If you know absolutely nothing about automobikes, it might be outstanding!

Cool ride
Cool
What about a duel bolt pattern flex plate for different converters?
The are also 2 different diameter flywheels but that is another subject.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice car, good catch on the lug nuts on those rims, that’s scary
How did you break the flywheel bolts mines wont budge
I found out the hard way a 250 6 cylinder uses a flex plate for a power glide. These are hard to find.
Will this cause starter problems if you put a unbalanced flexplate?
It will not cause starter problems but it will cause engine problems
🖐🙂👍👏V8. V8 🚘👍👏
🙂👍👏
327 has smaller flex plate
