- Closest to a Lincoln that you could be....the Mercury Marquis! Solid comfort, massive car that left no question as to the social status of the owner!

That paint has a lot of depth! Nice!
Hey, guys! Yes indeed....it's a bit unusual and of unusual quality! It befits this Mercury! Thanks! :) Jack
Jack, I always thought of these cars as the poor man's Lincoln.
Terrific cars!
Hey, Audie! I agree...it occupied the same space as the Buick Roadmaster! For those who didn't want to appear "ostentatious"! Thanks! :) Jack
It’s amazing how big these were. A genuine land yacht.
Hey, Jim! The message evidently went out that this car was to have all the luxury and size of a Lincoln...and they succeeded! Thanks! :) Jack
Wow! Stunningly beautiful land yacht Merc. Pre gas shortage size and luxury of a Lincoln at a better price.
Exactly! Little did we know what the future held! Thanks! :) Jack
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL 🤗.. HI JACK🌄... LOVE MY LUXURY BIG BOY VEHICLE'S. 🤩
Hey, Dee! Second only to Lincoln! If you wanted something luxurious, and at a relatively modest price, Mercury was for you! A real beauty! Thanks! :) Jack

I'm with you. I have always liked large American vehicles 👍

I worked for the Lincoln Mercury dealer back in the early 70s and we sold a lot of those cars now you never see one anymore.
Hey, Barry! I'm glad you had that experience....I'm sure it was very satisfying to see proud owners pick up their brand new cars! I'm sure they spent the better part of their first week of ownership showing off those Mercurys to anyone who would even give a sideways glance at them! Thanks! :) Jack
I had a 1971 I bought back in 1983 for a Work Car for my Wife at the time, Of course she quit her job about a week after I bought it! Lol, It had a 429 and was fully loaded 4 Door Sedan, It had lots of Dents and the rear splash pan under the back bumper was missing!, Only paid $400 for it., I beat that Car hard being a 21 YO Kid at the time Lol!, That 429 would really do some good Doughnuts and smoke the Tires down Lol!, Ended up reselling it for $600!, So I didn't do too bad got to have fun with it for a while and made $200 profit!, I would have kept it if the Body wasn't so full of Dents!, Great Memories! Jeff
Hey, Jeff! Great memories there! A testimony to a car that could take it! I'm happy that this video brought back those fond recollections! Thanks! :) Jack
That Mercury looks more than halfway to a Lincoln Continental.
Hey, Mick! That was exactly the plan, methinks! Thanks! :) Jack
Gorgeous and in a color that was so common for them. I prefer the four door iteration, but i'd take this one. Those twin comfort seats were about as comfortable and comfortable can be ... and i'm sure these ones still are.
I guess you could describe this car as a mobile lounge! Luxury appearance, luxury ride! A four door sedan would be preferable for ease of entry to the back seat, and those four doors would be more manageable than the very big two doors. Thanks! :) Jack
Indeed. Now that i recall, those seats were called "twin comfort lounge seats, even.
For some reason, for the last day or so, YT has not been notifying me of your replies at all. I was getting a little worried about you until i checked on a video i commented on yesterday and saw that you had commented. This one i found by checking just now. No notification :/
I've become somewhat disillusioned with YT...my earnings are at a "honorarium" level despite continuing to add subscribers. I would have quit YT by this time but my subscribers are family. Thanks! :) Jack
cool❤❤
Hey, Michael! Sure is cool...Mercury owned its position as a luxury car! Thanks! :) Jack
That is a beautiful luxury car. Twin Comfort Lounge seats, and they meant it. Luxury cars should not drive, and especially ride, like go karts!
Hey, Daniel! Reclining leather lounge seats were available for the home's living room....why not the car too! Just don't fall asleep while driving! Thanks! :) Jack
Nice vehicle, but it drinks gas like pouring out of a gallon jug ⛽️
Hey, Gary! If people knew what was awaiting them around the corner....gas rationing with the oil crisis, it might have affected their purchasing decision! Vegas and Pintos were awaiting purchase! Thanks! :) Jack
