Hello! I hope that you and your family are doing well. I just discovered your channel. I really enjoyed your video, especially those on history and your discussion on Alexandre Dumas. Dumas is my favorite author. Unfortunately for me, when I read the d"Artagnan series, I read them out of order b/c I did not know at the time it was a series. Have your read his other books? They are also fantastic. A few months ago, I found and purchased a 120 year old complete works of his at an estate sale. I love reading both history and classic literature so your booktube channel is really appealing to me. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next video. Have a great day! 😀
@@davidmccalip5759 thank so much David! Dumas is an incredible author! I read Black Tulip, but still have to read The Count of Monte Cristo (it’s on my tbr 😅) and his other works. I’m so sorry you read the D’Artagnan series out of order the first time! That must have been quite confusing. And you treasure (because a 120 year old complete work series is a treasure) is just amazing! Thank you so much for watching, I hope you stick around and enjoy my videos! ☺️😉
What a lovely video. I love everything about it. I love that you've read Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Far From the Madding Crowd???? No one talks about it enough, such a great book, it's one of my absolute favourite. I really appreciate that most of the books you talked about are classics, I feel like lately all the books we talked about are the most hyped ones on booktok, and I'm not saying the are not worthy of reading, but there are so many classic books that don't get the attention they deserve, so it's really refreshing seeing a video like this. And to answer your question, what made me the reader I am today was a book called The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, a Spanish writer who sadly passed away in 2020. I read it when I was in high school and it was the book that opened my mind and eyes and I have been devouring books ever since. I'm looking forward to your next videos.
@@simoneta27 first of all, thank you so much for your lovely words dear lady! It means a lot to me to know you liked the video! 🥹🤎🤍 I too feel the same way about classics and the whole social media thing not mentioning them very much. It's funny because, the more I read classic books, the more I want to discover new classics to read! Oh, I loved The Shadow of the Wind! Such an atmospheric story! It made me want to travel to Barcelona and see the city for myself. Again, thank you so much for your lovely words. It trully means a lot. I hope you're having a lovely day! 🥰😘
