What do you guys think is the most stacked event and who do you think will win? Comment down below!
When’s the 2019 world champs again?
It's from July 12th to July 28th but the non-open water swimming races start on the 21st.
100 free. Chalmers, Grinev, Dressel, Chierighini, Timmers, Metella... might happen you swim 47.5 and you don't get a medal.
100 free seems equally stacked to me. 200 fly could be a doozy.
I think the 100m freestyle and 100 butterfly will be their fastest respective finals ever, but the Dressel will easily take home both events (maybe in WR style). The 50 free has also been a crazy fast year, but not one athlete sticks out head and shoulders. Might be 21.2 doesn't take home a medal, which is insane to me. the 200m should also be interesting, but I don't think there's ever bee a 200m freestyle final that wasn't a rollercoaster.
I have to admit I'm not quite up to date with the women's numbers, but the 100m free and back should be interesting, as well as the Titmus/Ledecky show down.
Woah.... Voice reveal
Haha
I think 200 breast could also be argued as the most stacked if you see the amount of times close to the world record in the past two years
Yea, totally agreed. There are numerous swimmers that have dipped under 2:08.
Unpopular take: the 200 breast is by far the weakest of any world record right now.
Liam xp I’m training for Olympic trials for the 100 breast and it’s actually not that stacked yet. After this year it might be a different story:/

@@KonnerScottMusic so true. Theoretically it should be 2.03 or faster
@@tumosetswammung9961 not at all.
Or else, 200 fly would be 1.45 and 200 back 1.47
And 200 free 1.37
Nonsense.
Fratus, Manaudou, Dressel, Andrew, Proud, Gkolomeev, Morozov,
Hey, nice greetings from Germany.
Btw, I love your videos!
Bellissima sfida
Hey what's up! Thanks a lot for the support
I just wanna see Cesar Cielos record broken
that’s gonna be hard
haha
Billy Bob agreed... I wonder if the tech suit he had on had anything to do w it 🤔 I’ve always really wondered like if dressel had a similar suit In 2017 worlds if he would have gone sub 21
Hossien Sahebjame if anyone had his suit now I think they’d already have gone 20.6 or 7
lonerFN I actually agree
Make more World Champ/Olympic previews. These are great
Thanks! Will do
No Vladimir Morozov?
Edit: Or Kyle Chalmers?
My bad on that. I should've talked about Vladimir Morozov but I think Kyle Chalmers holds significantly less relevancy in the 50 free compared to the 100.
🔥
Indeed
Now we're here in 2020 quarantine. You might have to add Brent Hayden to this list now after he came out of retirement and went 49.6 in the 100 after an 8 year lay off
And now Dressel's 21.15. Really stacked for 2021 Olympics
The women's 100m freestyle in the 2017 world championships was arguably the most stacked final we've ever seen. Every single person in that race had won notable medals within the last couple of years. You had the co-champions in the Rio Olympics in the same event, the London 2012 Olympic champion (who also currently holds the 50m freestyle short course world record), the current world record holder, the defending World Champion (and sister of the former world record holder), the Olympic Champion in the 50m freestyle, Emma Mckeon (who already won multiple individual silvers), and the American record holder (broke the record in the opening leg of the relay on night one). It's entirely possible that the women's 100m freestyle will be even more stacked this year.
That pic of caeleb dressel is crazy his head is like out of the water...

Who's voice is that???
Idk... Yours?
Cool material! but you forgot about Australians, like Kyle Chalmers
I would love to see Chalmers take down Dressel. Honestly that would be huge surprise to me but I would love to see it. More likely Chalmers will take the silver in 47.25.
I’ve gotta say the 100 is almost as stacked. 3 guys are world record caliber. It’s not like in the 50 when there’s a .2 drop to break the world record, but .3 for dressel in the 100. Dressel, Chalmers, now Grinev, Timmers is there. Many more
Also yes 200 breast- Chupkov, Watanabe, Koseki, Koch, Prigoda, Wilby, Stubblety-Cook, Wilson, so many
@@marlingod murdoch and balandin 😉
@@_jd112 I don't think Balandin is even in worlds though- But always a threat. Murdoch is great too
@@marlingod he can product great swims
the best is cesar cielo and caeleb dressel and michael andrew!
cesar cielo with today suits would be at the 21.40 range, even at his peak. Dressel, Proud and Fratus would destroy him
Dlfj Fbbf you overrate those arena x glide suits. They help to those who swim over 100 freestyle or butterfly.they were not that effective in the short distance and even in the backstroke and breastroke were not big deal...
Dlfj Fbbf yes, cesar is retired
@@aleksandurtotev8525 What are you talking about, the Arena X Glide was 0.5 seconds faster per 50 meters. Cesar Cielo wouldn't be competition for any of todays elite swimmer
So wam with Caeleb Dressel 20.24 50 metre freestyle in ISL
Women's 200 free is about to be lit as well
🔥
It'll be interesting to see if Ledecky can take back the gold after finishing silver in 2017 and bronze in 2018 ... behind two 18-year-olds. She's good in the 200m freestyle, but it's not her specialty.
let's not sleep on Dressel's 50.36 100 fly... he is going to break Phelp's record at some point whether its at Gwangju or Tokyo
For real..he would have gone gold at Rio with that time and he's nowhere near fully tapered. After 49.86 in Budapest, that wr is eminent
He was only 0.04 seconds short of breaking that world record in 2017, and he's already been noticeably faster this year than he was at this point in 2017.
