please never limit yourself to 1 medium or 1 style. I don't create anything like yours but I don't miss a video or blog. your creativity expands my horizons. thanks always
I know this video is from two years ago, but I’ve been watching all your videos.😊 I just wanted to say I used to really dislike still life but I’ve been changing my mind after viewing your watercolor tutorials and Sketchbook Sundays featuring food as still life. Funny, it never occurred to me that painting something other than an flower arrangement or a bowl of fruit would count as still life! These food paintings are fun! I know you’re not a fan of sweets so I really appreciate you doing the dessert ones-they’re my favorite! Thank you for all your wonderful tutorials...and please don’t stop doing the long ones.
Yum and beautiful job as always. I love the variety of technique and supplies you use. It really helps me to think outside the box to get different looks especially for a newbie like me. Also, thank you for your Amazon page and other retail outlets you mention. I price shop them all and now know when I am getting a good deal. Still loving my Ohuhu set of 60 watercolor markers I got for less than $20 that you review several months a go! Great deal and so much fun. BTW...Your drawing class is excellent!
I used an accidentally vegan betty crocker bagged mix and some vegan chocolate chips, left out the egg and added a bit more water for moisture and baked them on parchment. So easy and yummy!
OMG that cookie made me hungry! The Fabriano Venezia sketchbook is not discontinued, here in Italy we can find it everywhere for pretty cheap! I like it alot for sketching! :D
I used one of the small bagged mixed from betty crocker that happened to be vegan and added some chocolate chips that are also dairy free. I omitted the egg the mix called for and added a bit more water so it would hold together and baked it on parchment paper so it wouldn't stick.
I can hear Jim Carrey in the background yelling "and that's the way the cookie crumbles' would that not be fun for a coffee card themed set as a sentiment, lol. That cookie would not have survived me,btw.
They still retail this booklet in europe btw for european viewers; fabriano venezia. Watch under sketchbooks, not under watercolor section you will not find it there in eu based stores. we are kindof rigid in categorizing evryting lol
Lindsey, i know you already told me the answer to this question but I lost the paper I wrote it on and I need to order some....where do you get your atg refills on the cheap? I appreciate the info. 😃
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Uh I don't know why I couldn't remember that. Pretty obvious. Lol. Thank you so much! Tell me again what I search for?
I love your paintings. I do wish you would stick to one medium instead of doing multiple. Most of us (or at least me) can only afford one good set of art supplies. I love your paintings but when you use watercolor pencils, colored pencils, gel pens, and other things I get a little discouraged. I can’t afford any other set of supplies other than watercolor and I am not sure how to get certain texture without using those, since you don’t show them in your video. You used to stick to one medium more than mixed media. Just a thought!
Lindsay always says "use what you have". Before I had white gel pens/markers, I'd just use my white watercolor in a thick consistency and it worked okay. Also, right now is a great time to buy supplies for cheap. My grocery store had packs of colored pencils for a quarter. I also saw extremely cheap gel crayons at wal-mart.
I always enjoy watching your videos, but I agree that sometimes you take it too far and "gild the lily" as you said. The cookie looked yummy, fresh, and edible in the first half. Past about the 8:00 mark, it began to lose its freshness, and the final product looked hard and stale like it had set on an open shelf too long. Wouldn't want to take a bite at that point. Wouldn't have said anything, except that you seemed to have acknowledged that it was overworked. Hope honest commentary is okay. I am a long time viewer and appreciator of your videos.

It looks good enough to eat, too. I like that painting.
Love this painting! Safe way for me to paint a cookie without having cookies around. Thanks Lindsay!

Ha! A studio. I have to drag everything out onto a badly lit kitchen table. You do food so well. Looks like I could just pick it up and eat it!

Omg that's yummy and pretty❤❤❤
Will the real cookie stand up. It amazes me that you could have stopped at any time and it would have been great but you know how to get it to perfect
Yum! Can I eat cookies for breakfast? Can you share your recipe?
I used one of the small bagged mixed from betty crocker that happened to be vegan and added some chocolate chips that are also dairy free. I omitted the egg the mix called for and added a bit more water so it would hold together and baked it on parchment paper so it wouldn't stick.
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich great - thanks!!
This is gorgeous! Can I have one? ;) Beautiful sketch, Lindsay 😊
Ummm, if there were any left I'd gladly share (it was my 3 teens that ate them i swear lol!)
I just found them on Amazon a couple days ago in three different sizes:)
I can hear Jim Carrey in the background yelling "and that's the way the cookie crumbles' would that not be fun for a coffee card themed set as a sentiment, lol. That cookie would not have survived me,btw.

I know it’s sped up for the video but I was just wondering how much time it takes you do do one of,these sketches
The joy of living in Australia. I have these paints and they are good but $42.00 of our money. About equal to $55 USD
Wow! I bet that makes you really think a out a purchase. These are lovely paints tho. Enjoy:)

Girl, you have to stop with the food LOL..Just kidding, I love it.
so, did you eat your model?
yup:)
Your painting looks better than the actual cookie. This is not good to see at breakfast time lol!😅😉
