I was there on Saturday when you broke your tip. I had my processors for my hearing and ears plugged so I didn't realize what had happened. I talked to Eric later after the demo, and he told me what had happened. The saws were loud ,but I enjoyed every moment of it. When you were pushing the saws hard I could feel it. When I saw Tinman's video of of you in the big wood, you were testing the true power of the saw. Bar in to the dogs . Stop . Hop off log . Repeat. I enjoyed you cutting up the smaller stuff too. That is where I do most of my work. Thanks again to Ripsaw crew.

Your comment on the rakers in dried white oak is true. I live in NC,USA and a lot of our wood is dead. dried red and white oak. It takes a sharp chain and a lot of power to get through these logs. Normally we switch chains after two tanks of fuel or you are just throwing dust instead of chips. And heaven forbid if you start bucking on a snag that was hit and killed by lightening, they get hard as glass.

i've had a stihl ms 241c forever and they discontinued it, great saw. stepped up to a 400c with a 25 inch bar cause i was tired of being bent over cutting firewood. could almost go up to 28 or even 32 even though the saw isn't rated for a 32. i think just bucking 20 inch logs will be fine. got my hand filing almost down pat now too thanks to you.

I have all way's wonted to reply to some of your videos but it seems the older I get the harder it is to get the message to match what I'm thinking if that makes any sense......I have being a subscriber of yours for many years now and love everything you do..... I think the easiest way to put this I know you gave your shirt off your back to anyone in need.....You are just a genuine great guy that seems to love helping people.....Thank you for everything you do here....I have 2 younger brothers one of my brothers got a job with Davey Tree Experts out of Ottawa Ontario Canada not sure if you heard Davy they're all over the US and Canada.....I believe he's been there six and a half years to 7 & he ended up getting me a job there 5 year's ago.....What we do they're mostly and trim trees near the power lines..... right now we mostly use a bucket truck the bucket my brother uses is a 70 footer and the job we have right now is to trim City trees near Hydro so we have ropes in the trees almost everyday..... he gets all the nasty trees close to hydro and houses that no one else wants to do..... now we have also done trimming for the city of Ottawa of trees not close to hydro so we've been able to learn that trimming a little bit.....I will say I'm a slow learner but I'm getting there and I love my job..... Totally agree bro, Bigger/Longer is Safer!!....I rarely find myself grabbing anything below 70cc's anymore, even for backyard work. A power saw won't lie to you, it's heavy and forces you to Move at a certain pace, when you get tired, you just put her down.......a smaller saw allows you to move faster, and as fatigue sets in, so do mistakes.

I'm a woodworker who uses chainsaws but not a forest worker. My everyday tools are panel saw, jointer and thickness planer etc. I've done some log milling. It's hard work and hard on the body 8f you don't know what your doing. Chainsaws are a workout just lifting and cutting. Know your tools is the golden rule. Look after them and keep them sharp. Sharpening is a skill you never stop refining. But without it your gonna burn out badly.
