- Thrifting is one of the best ways to create a beautiful, personalized decor style for your home at an affordable price. You can discover pre-loved treasures that may be unique, one-of-a-kind, and often disregarded by others. One of the most popular and fun styles that you can easily incorporate with thrifted finds is maximalism. Maximalism is all about creating a space that is lively, bold, and full of personality.
Here are some tips to help you create your unique maximalist decor style through thrifting:
1. Embrace Bold Colors and Patterns: Maximalist style relies on a mix of patterns and textures, and thrift stores are the perfect place to find unique designs. Embrace bold colors and patterns by searching for vintage fabrics, patterned throw pillows, and statement carpets.
2. Choose Bizarre and Whimsical Home Accessories: It's the small objects that give your space personality, and thrifting is an excellent way to find those truly bizarre and whimsical items that make your home unique. Look for interesting objects such as sculptures or figurines brighten the room.
3. Incorporate Unique Furniture Pieces: Another excellent way to include a thrifty approach to creating a maximalist decor style is by incorporating solid furniture pieces that can provide contrast or texture in your room. Look out for retro pieces such as metallic chairs, ornamental coffee tables, and vintage velvet sofas.
4. Experiment with Mix and Match Decor Styles: Maximalism allows a spontaneous and joyful juxtaposition of styles, and your thrifting finds help reflect that mix and match style. Don't be afraid to play with eclectic designs such as mixing contemporary items with retro design pieces.
5. Trust Your Instincts: The most crucial aspect of creating a maximalist decor style via thrifting is to trust your instincts. You must choose items you enjoy and retain a personal connection to; the stuff might be quirky or mismatched, but together, they create an exceptional expression of your style.
Thrifting for decor items is a fun and affordable way to bring maximalist elements into your home. By following these tips, you would find fantastic second-hand decor pieces that would transform your space and create a true representation of your unique style. Maximalism through thrifting isn't just an interior decor style, but it's also a way to express yourself and enjoy the journey of finding pieces that speak to you.

Same
Absolutely
Agreed!!!
katia nikolajew doesn't have the same style Beth But she has great thrifting decor and style videos.
Agree!!!
I Love it! Please more thrift home décor edition ❤❤
You found a litle steeldrum.
90% of my home decor and clothing is thrifting
I m pretty eclectic myself too X
Love your home treasure finds especially the brown pot and 70’s book!! So much more fun than going to a regular store and more economical!
Abalone is the inside of that shell! Look forward to seeing your renovation to the master and closet!
People have stopped saying Master bedroom or bath. Main is the correct usage that’s not racially charged.
Just an FYI
It’s amazing to me how the movement towards sustainability and reusing and shopping second hand, has caused charity shops to Jack their prices up to the point where no one with lower incomes can afford to shop anymore.
Yeah such is capitalism. Usually the local stores are much better. Like the charity shops for animals tend to be better prices. But yeah their prices are insane sometimes.
love the steel pan drum and the white ceramic 'candle holder' that looks like a pencil sharpener
I love thrifted knickknack because the prices are so worth the hunt and I even got 2 great big lounge chairs for $40 total. You found some nice items for what you were looking for. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
I just redid my sitting area in living room.... Everything thrifted....
I love your home decor style. Creativity Brings Joy!!!🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for taking us along! That art piece is amazing!
Wow 🤩 I really had fun watching this video! Thank you for the suggestions in looking for home decor
Immediately went on EBay and purchased that book!
Wow! Fantastic finds! I’m especially in love with the brown pot, which I believe to be vintage, and the steel pan drum! So jealous. BTW, it you wrap the tip of a sturdy stick with thick rubber bands, you can play that steel drum by striking it with the rubber tip of the stick. Oh, and I also think the metal jug you picked up is vintage, possibly European.
I love your home decor videos!😊
You have a truly beautiful home. Very eclectic. Lovely ❤
Love your style and eclectic, free spirited home....only one issue though, I must go thrifting after watching your successes! (the shiny in the abalone shell is called iridescence) Gotta go...later!
Why were you always fiddling with your neck thingy? Was it uncomfortable? Just ask’in
First timer to view you. I like funky and you definitely check that box for me 😊
Am so afraid of my decision making. Over last 9 months I re did my bathroom and over last 8 weeks the kitchen. Unfortunately my house has a small primary so my clothes are spread over 3 closets. I would live an ensuite and walk in. Closet. Maybe next house
Great creativity Beth! Well said, well done.
Just clicked that the candle holder at 6:15 is supposed to look like a giant pencil sharpener! Have a close look! How cute ❤
Omg I loooooooove the idea of holding candlesticks in something. I use tapers everyday
The book is so good ! Who wrote the book ?
I loved the inscription Club Mud beneath the vase lol
I’m screaming at my screen, “it’s a steel drum!”
Sharon Tate was a great educator of fashion.
it's called mother of pearl :)
In New Zealand that she'll is paua
she is soooooooo 😍🥰🥰🥰nice
Loved this, Beth!!! Do you ever get home from the thrift store and see something in your footage, and immediately want to rush back and get it?
A steel drum
okay so abalone (from the Spanish word: abulon) is the creature that lives in side the shell it is a shell fish that some people actually eat (🤮) the shell is the abalone shell. SIGH!
Always enjoy a good home decor haul. I'm always buying candles at thrift stores.. love the candle holders..
The big shell is an abalone. My dad used to catch them when I was a kid in the sixties, and we'd have a bunch of those all over the house.
I love home decor thrifting! So excited for your home renovations!
Grate pieces! Thank you for a decor thriftvideo X
