  • Thrifting is one of the best ways to create a beautiful, personalized decor style for your home at an affordable price. You can discover pre-loved treasures that may be unique, one-of-a-kind, and often disregarded by others. One of the most popular and fun styles that you can easily incorporate with thrifted finds is maximalism. Maximalism is all about creating a space that is lively, bold, and full of personality.
Here are some tips to help you create your unique maximalist decor style through thrifting:
    1. Embrace Bold Colors and Patterns: Maximalist style relies on a mix of patterns and textures, and thrift stores are the perfect place to find unique designs. Embrace bold colors and patterns by searching for vintage fabrics, patterned throw pillows, and statement carpets.
    2. Choose Bizarre and Whimsical Home Accessories: It's the small objects that give your space personality, and thrifting is an excellent way to find those truly bizarre and whimsical items that make your home unique. Look for interesting objects such as sculptures or figurines brighten the room.
    3. Incorporate Unique Furniture Pieces: Another excellent way to include a thrifty approach to creating a maximalist decor style is by incorporating solid furniture pieces that can provide contrast or texture in your room. Look out for retro pieces such as metallic chairs, ornamental coffee tables, and vintage velvet sofas.
    4. Experiment with Mix and Match Decor Styles: Maximalism allows a spontaneous and joyful juxtaposition of styles, and your thrifting finds help reflect that mix and match style. Don't be afraid to play with eclectic designs such as mixing contemporary items with retro design pieces.
    5. Trust Your Instincts: The most crucial aspect of creating a maximalist decor style via thrifting is to trust your instincts. You must choose items you enjoy and retain a personal connection to; the stuff might be quirky or mismatched, but together, they create an exceptional expression of your style.
Thrifting for decor items is a fun and affordable way to bring maximalist elements into your home. By following these tips, you would find fantastic second-hand decor pieces that would transform your space and create a true representation of your unique style. Maximalism through thrifting isn't just an interior decor style, but it's also a way to express yourself and enjoy the journey of finding pieces that speak to you.

People have stopped saying Master bedroom or bath. Main is the correct usage that’s not racially charged.
    Just an FYI

It’s amazing to me how the movement towards sustainability and reusing and shopping second hand, has caused charity shops to Jack their prices up to the point where no one with lower incomes can afford to shop anymore.

Yeah such is capitalism. Usually the local stores are much better. Like the charity shops for animals tend to be better prices. But yeah their prices are insane sometimes.

I love thrifted knickknack because the prices are so worth the hunt and I even got 2 great big lounge chairs for $40 total. You found some nice items for what you were looking for. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.

Wow! Fantastic finds! I’m especially in love with the brown pot, which I believe to be vintage, and the steel pan drum! So jealous. BTW, it you wrap the tip of a sturdy stick with thick rubber bands, you can play that steel drum by striking it with the rubber tip of the stick. Oh, and I also think the metal jug you picked up is vintage, possibly European.

Am so afraid of my decision making. Over last 9 months I re did my bathroom and over last 8 weeks the kitchen. Unfortunately my house has a small primary so my clothes are spread over 3 closets. I would live an ensuite and walk in. Closet. Maybe next house
