Hi everyone! I was the huntress in this game. Thank you Spook for hearing me out and giving this reminder. I will say when this happened it did bum me out that I stopped playing for a few days. I love meeting people in this game. Sorry to see so many comments had something similar happen to them. It really makes me sad to see how many don't put ttv in their names and either can't advertise themselves or show other streamers support out of fear that someone will shout stream sniping or end up being really mean. He accused me of stream sniping every time i found him, said many insults during the stream and immediately typed a long ass report after the match. And only after he sent it he saw 4 aura reading perks and said "alright, maybe he didn't stream snipe."

@@Demonsouls1993Exactly. Just make it require a detailed explanation of how they’re cheating and implement a game record and timestamp feature to say exactly where. This would genuinely solve so much, and if you’re caught lying on the reports multiple times you’ll be blacklisted.

@@Default_Claudette_Morrel I mean from rules that I remember BHVR does not care about sniping cause thats from a different platform… same reason they don’t fix swf cause of discord. But I do think on Twitch, sniping is a rule but I could be wrong.
This was a small back-of-mind thought I used to have when I started streaming. Then I realized I'm probably not that good, nor am I that important for someone to go out of their way to snipe. So if someone says they're the killer in my chat, I give them the benefit of the doubt. They come in saying "I just wanted to say best of luck!" etc, the worst thing you can do is assume and ruin your whole mood for a game over one possibility. If they snipe it says more about them than it does me, anyway. But if I assume or complain about it, does it make my stream any better or any more fun? Absolutely not.
I played a trapper and creamed a TTV. Went into their chat, said Hi, and got absolutely shit on and accused to cheating. I kinda stopped playing after.
Personally I haven’t played DBD because I used to play trickster and hag and would get the most disgusting messages imaginable for no reason. I never even camped or tunneled intentionally, just played to win. The last straw was when a PC player messaged me on an Xbox smurf account he made exclusively to send horrible messages, saying he w1shed my family had a car accident (to put it mildly). The funniest part is I probably have less than 100 hours total and was farming no life’s, which is probably why they were mad. I’m just done with toxic games
"They somehow knew where I was... they must be stream sniping!" Meanwhile they're in one of the most obvious places a survivor would be. 🙄 People really don't think before they speak do they.
I ran into a streamer similar to her i came into their chat as killer and told them "glhf I'm wesker" then he left the lobby before the game started and I asked him why then him and his chat said it was because I could easily stream snipe throughout the match eventually we started arguing and I said "if your that worried about stream snipers then take ttv out of your name" and him and his chat didn't like that and banned me😭🤦♂️
LMAOOO that's so weird, Like their asking to get stream sniped, Used to stream Dbd with my Ttv on it and I didn't care if they stream sniped, just had fun, that's about it, I don't get why people are like that
I will admit I back out if I have time if killer comes into my chat and says 'glhf im your killer'... it's actually a banned phrase now or variant. Not because of stream sniping, but because 98% of the time I just get tunneled out at 5 gens and that is not a GLHF in my opinion. Stay anonymous until the end of the match, and I'm not obliged to wait and say GG either. If they come in, fine. When I'm killer, I NEVER go into anyone's chat not even if I recognise them, and I rarely if ever have anyone come in and be toxic at the end. I'm an easy going killer who avoids tunneling, slugging and camping and no one likes to be killed with nothing to complain about. If I tunnel it's accident.
I can sort of understand why they would do that if you came into chat before the match started as I've had a few killers when I've played survivor who have done that and then blatantly stream sniped and then bragged about how easy it was to do after they slugged me over and over until I died.
I put TTV on my name knowing well enough that people might stream snipe (if I'm playing survivor) or tunnel me because of it or when I'm playing killer and someone comes to my chat to be salty/toxic over a video game Either way, If you can't handle people coming to your chat after a game, positively or negatively, Remove it and play the waiting game when it comes to getting viewers (also amazing video, keep up the amazing work!)
If im solo queueing as surv and i get in a lobby with a TTV i always keep their stream open to see what they're doing so i know if they've got plans n stuff, so it honestly could have been another survivor who was in their stream for all they know lmfao
@@Doncroft1 I believe they’re referring to the point in the video when the TTV talks about the viewer they don’t know and assume it’s the killer when in fact it could just be another survivor.
My friend just bought DBD for me after I told him I've been watching you. I am so bad it's not even funny. My chases as survivor end in a matter of seconds lol. This channel has been great for me to get to know the game a little better and to see some of the killers abilities before I have to deal with them myself. Love the content.
Thank you Spook For Bringing this to everyones attention , I've had it so many times where I've been called a stream sniper for the dumbest of reasons. I hope this makes TTVs stop always going straight to thinking its a stream sniper and instead not thinking about Perks and other things that the game provides , Sometimes these ttvs don't understand the game much so I give them the benefit of the doubt but however streamers with tons of hours in the game I think should start thinking about in-game things and not always thinking about getting stream sniped , if all you think about is being stream sniped then you'll never grow because people won't come into you're stream.
This game has the most unskilled toxic miserable crybaby gamers that i have ever seen. Making up your own rules is another thing i haven't seen since i was a child.
@@rebjr6615that’s part of the game though- I’m not unskilled when I play survivor but suddenly skilled when I play killer. As survivor there is only the W key, ppl ask for more but aren’t given it.
I just imagine the meme of the guy on the bike with the stick and trips himself over. This it what it feels like when watching these people with TTV in their name and claiming everyone is sniping them whether they are or not
I had a ttv a little while back who banned someone for stream sniping. Except it was me they thought was stream sniping, and I wasn't the person they banned. Hopped into their stream afterwards to put a gg in chat and heard them talking about banning the killer for sniping. So I mentioned that I was the killer, so they banned someone else, and they deleted my commends and just didn't acknowledge it.
Not long (a few months) after I started playing I had a ttv in a match and i thought "Cool! I'll go say hello after the match and check them out!" I did that and, yup, immediately accused of stream sniping, cheating, and being a pos. Lesson learned, I have never again visited a ttv tagged dbd player. There's simply no upside to doing so.
As a small streamer this give us ttv a bad wrap. This is why I stop going to other stream and say ggwp .As a killer main, I give survivors a chance to catch up on points.
Dude this happened to me with “thegayjake” where I had good luck I’m the killer before the match started and said gg afterwards. I got a 4k without tunneling or slugging and he said that I was cheating. I told him he was being a little salty for losing and if he was that salty maybe I should have tunneled. Then he said “ You will be a nobody tomorrow” and banned me.
Lmao- similar thing with me cept we didn’t have a whole interaction or even played. I came in to say “I’m the killer, GLHF, leaving now”. And he backed out of the lobby.
Funny enough, the one time I remembered being stream snipped, I was laughing about it and talking with the killer mid game. I don't care when it happens and find it funny -piggy
I play all aura huntress, I like watching vods back so I'll usually check if they're live, then go pull up the channel/vod in a muted tab so I can watch later. I went against a TTV who went down very fast twice, so I left her alone for a while and went after her teammates so she had a chance to play. When I watched the vod, she was deadset on the idea that I was sniping and hid the game after her second down, and kept saying "Crazy how she isn't going for me now after I hid the game" and it stands as the funniest stream sniping accusation I've had
Had a TTV get pissed when I came in and checked if they were on. This is when I started coming back to DBD. I then just look them up but don't enter stream because then I get accused all across the board, even when I am nice.
I once joined a survivors stream about 5 minutes after the match ended, and they started going OFF on me, it was so funny how people can just put on blinders to common sense
Some people carry off streams with insane gameplay, others by being entertaining and/or informative and some manage to be both...and then there's these people. If you're someone who see's stream snipers and hackers behind every bad moment you ever have on every game and are unable to put your paranoia/anger to one side...you really don't have the aptitude to be a streamer.
OMG! I don't remember if I still have the footage but I had this a few months ago but they blamed one of my viewers for telling me where they were. For clarity, this was a Mori Monday request and he requested this killer with this build and went to watch their POV. They ended up banning my viewer in their chat and then proceeded to stream snipe me and tell their teammates my perks. They said that the viewer was stream sniping for me.
I usually go into a streamers stream and say “glhf I’ll be back after the game” I back out and come back after the game to say GGs. If I like the vibes I follow to support.
So weird to put ttv in your name and then be constantly paranoid about stream snipers.. If you feel so strongly about it, then maybe don't put an invitation to stream snipe in your name.
I was also accused of stream sniping, what's even worse was.. I was a regular viewer on their stream (no longer). It felt like a huge slap in the face, seeing the person I watch accusing me with so much certainty and rage unfollowed immediately.. good riddance.
It’s like some people hit affiliate and their ego grows so much that they think the entire world is focused in on them and get so delusional they think that friends of their friends are out to get them just like strangers are. So many meltdowns over something that’s actually nothing lol😂
Your caption was my exact thoughts, just remove TTV out of your name if you are paranoid you're being stream sniped. I feel sometimes people just don't take accountability for their performance in the fog and instead play the blame game on everyone else.
I was streaming yesterday and a Killer come into my chat before the match to say "good luck and have fun." I said good luck back to them and didn't think they would stream snipe at all. They killed me during the match but they came back to say "gg" and I said "gg" back while praising their gameplay cause they did play really well. Lo and behold, the Killer was nice enough to give me a follow. It really isn't that hard to be nice to people who come into your chat and you're supposed to be building a community. I have made many lovely friends who were Killers in my game who whooped my butt and I was nice to them instead of being salty and accusatory.
Making me think of a time I said gg to a streamer after playing against them when I was killer and among the first things they ask was "were you stream sniping?" And was told they thought it was toxic to close hatch after last hook.
There's even a streamer on youtube who will accuse several people of stream snipping, meanwhile they dont even have a name that has a TTV or YT in their name. Nor is their name the same in game to their channel 😂
This almost exact thing happened to me. I played killer against a TTV and after the match I joined stream to say GGs. They had chat blocked unless you followed the channel for like 5 minutes or something so I stuck around a little bit during the TTVs next match. They accused the blight they were against in their current match of stream sniping and then stated they didn’t recognize my name in their viewer list. I was immediately banned from the channel, I wasn’t even able to defend myself or say I was the killer from the previous game because of the limited chat settings. Crazy stuff to put TTV in your name and do stuff like this!
Even if it’s a snipe, their fault for advertising TTV and not having a delayed stream. Some ppl just use the snipe thing as an excuse. OnePumpWillie once didn’t reset his win streak cause he claimed that the dead survivor was sniping him cause they saw his name after they were dead and was relaying info back to the SWF.
As someone trying her hardest to grow an honest community, the frustration I feel when I see there are people out there claiming every single person that comes in is stream sniping is INFURITATING and suffocating. There's no reason to be so calloused, rude and so unwelcoming to potentially your most loyal watchers. Be nice. It truly can make a difference.
I remember when I went into a TTV after a match and when the stream loaded in, they were trashing me as a killer (though I won the match without tunneling or slugging). And that put me off of ever going into a TTV for a while. Luckily, two others since then were really sweet, but it was like six weeks after the first because of how sour it was. It was only in 2v8 where I went into a stream with the Solo Q Killer teammate and then the Holiday Event where it was the Blood Feast and the survivors had fun with me when they realized I wasn't trying to kill them.
I was playing “3 gen” Skull Merchant yesterday (not really a thing anymore since there’s a kick limit) with Pop goes the weasel and only guarded 3 gen’s all game, won and went into stream after to say GG. I was trashed talked and called unskilled, I told them I gave them a 4 gen head start and 3 gen isn’t even really a thing anymore cause of the kick limit and was banned 😂
I was playing against a survivor streamer once and from my POV I saw the locker doors close and I managed to find survivor(streamer) in that locker and I thought nothing of it. After the match I decided to say Hi to the streamer , but instead of "Hi and ggs" ,what I got was immediately flamed and accused of stream sniping and banned on his twitch, I rewinded the stream to see what happened, he straight up shit talked me for 10 minutes straight.
These kinds of TTVs remind me of those kids in elementary when you are it and you try to tag them only for them to yell out that they don’t wanna play the game anymore because they know that they’re gonna be it and won’t tag anyone
This is weirdo behavior, the killer is just trying to win! When I play cheating/stream snipping is NEVER something I accuse someone of, its SO much more likely I made a mistake!!
I feel this pain, like yes, I can totally streamsnipe you on a tablet behind me on a bed when I am standing up with headphones on and playing on console looking at a TV in the opposite direction.
5:11 This is exactly what happened to me once! But I was playing survivor, and the ttv was another survivor. I realised when the game had started I was playing with a ttv, so I went to her stream, muted it like I always do. I was about to type I was in the game with her and wanted to give her a viewer when the killer started chasing me so I didn't have time so I thought I'd say hi after the game instead. After I died I went to her stream and noticed I was muted because her mod saw a new person in her stream and tried asking me if I was the killer, and since I didn't respond(because I was busy playing the game) she muted me for some reason and said they hate stream snipers. Like what xD I think you can figure out if I followed her. 😖
"THEY'RE STREAM SNIPING ME!" - Someone with 3 viewers, one of which being themself in their own stream to be able to type in chat, one being a friend that's playing the match with them, and one being a genuine viewer.
Imagine having a huge glowing sign out the fron t of your house saying "Come watch me as I sleep through my windows!" and then getting mad that certain people are doing that
Days a lot about mindset, when I'm working on a gen with another survivor and the killer comes over unexpectedly i generally assume discordance. Takes a paranoid person to automatically jump to the idea that you're being sniped instead.
This exact reason is why when im streaming i just take the loss and move on. I havent been playing dbd for very long BUT i know for a fact that there are many maaaaany ways to be found in this game. Auras, sound, you name it. I *want* people in my stream, killers or other survivors, its really fun to interact. In the end its just salt. Like i get salty too but like i said, just take the L and move on
One time I was sniped by a Ghostie who came into chat after the match and said “I love when people accuse me of stream sniping or cheating. Whenever I see a TTV I watch their stream to kill their friends but I let the TTV go.”. Lmao
this is why when i go agaisnt other ttvs in dbd i never go into their streams. ive had a few stream snipers but it comes with having ttv in your name. i gotten used to it.
I'm a TTV. I used to co-stream with a TTV who was just like this. Whenever we were in a match and his viewer count would go up, first comment was "the killer is watching" no accusation yet, but they would come down the line. It was annoying, and I eventually called him out for it (of course not while we were live, I like to think I'm a decent person xD). From this point on he hid his view count for himself, which helped him overcome this overly mistrusting attitude.
Fantastic video, when watching this I was reminded of the time I was playing huntress and got accused of the same thing but to a degree where all common sense is out the window. I believe I even sent it in for review to your email? Anyway, Its crazy that anyone will immediately jump to stream sniping and oml just be ridiculously obscene and openly hostile while live. I even had to defend myself in the endgame chat of that match (which I was live myself so how would I) to explain that it isnt that deep. Killed any good will I would have toward them and wish them the best.
Had a survivor TTV say I was streamsniping after the match, never knew who he was beforehand and didn't snipe. Went by to show support after n got permabanned from chat even though his friend said I followed scratch marks and that he's being harsh. This community really needs a mental refresh, not everyones out to get you. Hope everyone's doing well, I quit DbD a long time ago but met a lot of other amazing people out there in the fog :)
This has happened to me so many times while playing that I stopped checking streamers. In the beginning I used to live to chat with them after a match now all people do is get mad if you come say gg or anything
"she spawned in and immediately came to me shes streamsniping" ive had this thrown at me so many times. meanwhile lethal persuer is a basekit perk for all my builds 😂😂
This reminded me of the one time I decided to check a streamer out after playing a (what I thought was a very fun) match as Deathslinger. They were on call with another streamer and was calling me all kinds of names while ranting because I got some kills. They spotted an unknown viewer aka me and banned me while continuing the insults. Haven't checked out a TTV after that.
TTV, here. As killer, I've been falsely accused of stream sniping many times. It sucks when it happens. And whenever I play survivor instead of killer, I understand that I'm running the risk of being stream sniped, and I choose not to worry about it. If it happens, whatever. It's extremely rare. I'd much rather people come by my stream, say hi, amd maybe see my ferrets.
I had a TTV subtly accuse me of stream sniping them because I had Spies from the Shadows and knew where people were. It's really not hard to find survivors in this game...
I have a theory: fear can be passed on and explained away if you’ve got something to blame other than yourself it makes it easier to “cope” wit your own downfalls and imperfections, maybe Rebecca isn’t that good yet and can only explain that in a way that distances from herself from her own skills or lack there of 😅🧐
I feel like this is why it is important to actually play both sides, like if you just play killer or just play survivor you miss the perspective of the opposite side which can help you improve at the game and understand why people play the way they do. I feel like the only time I get called a stream sniper when playing as a killer is by die hard survivor mains who never touch killer and don't understand how they work. They don't understand how loud generator repairing is, or that even if you enter a locker slowly if the killer is close enough they can still hear the door shut, and the list goes on.
"I don't like streamsniping. Except when I do it." Also looking at the gameplay, Rebecca is clearly still rather new to the game and seems to know little enough about it that of course she will just cry streamsniper to anything she doesn't understand. Apart from micro, macro, game sense or even just common sense in some in-game situations: just wait until she finds out that killers also actually get aura reveal perks to use.

The funniest part is I probably have less than 100 hours total and was farming no life’s, which is probably why they were mad. I’m just done with toxic games
@@nickphaux trickster is 💯% justified
@@nickphaux I love facing trickster or hag cuz the jump scare from a hag trap I don't know or dodging the knives is fun don't see them a lot
Dbd ttvs are so wild. 😂 in other games ppl HIDE their names when they’re streaming but in DBD they feed on the “they’re stream sniping!!”.
“Easier target” is the polite way of saying the streamer was terrible
bro the disbelief in their voice like 'SHE WANTS ME WHAT THE FUCKKK??' like ya shes supposed to chase u
1:05 I can't believe the main character got found first somehow
edit: 6:48 WTF????
I love you Benjo
I Benjo, love you
"They somehow knew where I was... they must be stream sniping!"
Meanwhile they're in one of the most obvious places a survivor would be.
That one is def understandable, this is why most people will have a delayed stream so even if there is a snipe- it’s useless.
Yea… you were in the wrong. Arguing with the streamer is a giant no-no.
I put TTV on my name knowing well enough that people might stream snipe (if I'm playing survivor) or tunnel me because of it
or when I'm playing killer and someone comes to my chat to be salty/toxic over a video game
Either way, If you can't handle people coming to your chat after a game, positively or negatively, Remove it and play the waiting game when it comes to getting viewers
(also amazing video, keep up the amazing work!)
If im solo queueing as surv and i get in a lobby with a TTV i always keep their stream open to see what they're doing so i know if they've got plans n stuff, so it honestly could have been another survivor who was in their stream for all they know lmfao
💯💯💯
Imo this is fine. About as close as you'll really get to communication without swf.
That's different, since they are your teammate.
And the skill isnt very commendable either. Congrats, you can hold W + Shift. Killer takes more skill
I'll go say hello after the match and check them out!"
I did that and, yup, immediately accused of stream sniping, cheating, and being a pos.
Lesson learned, I have never again visited a ttv tagged dbd player. There's simply no upside to doing so.
its even more funny when you notice most streaming services have random joins meaning anyone can look thru the sites browser and join you
This is the type of videos that we need in this game.
Yes but not what we SHOULD need unfortunately
@ very true. Which is unfortunate.
Don’t go harass him.
A lot of people have had issues with that guy, he’s super toxic. Sorry that happened to you
So he hasn't changed?
Lmao- similar thing with me cept we didn’t have a whole interaction or even played. I came in to say “I’m the killer, GLHF, leaving now”. And he backed out of the lobby.
Funny enough, the one time I remembered being stream snipped, I was laughing about it and talking with the killer mid game. I don't care when it happens and find it funny
-piggy
As a Xbox player I do not claim this person in my community 😔
I swear I’ve had like 50+ interactions with ttv and I swear I have never had a bad experience it’s always been GG gl with your games
She’s saying it all serious 😂. “Definitely stream sniping me” come on and don’t expect the worst.
I’m a Killer main. Never looked up a TTV username because you’re not important to me.
sigma
Whatever floats your boat. Saying hi to an opponent doesn't mean you think they're "important" lol.
@@Doncroft1 I’m implying that looking up a TTV is a waste of my time.
I usually go into a streamers stream and say “glhf I’ll be back after the game” I back out and come back after the game to say GGs. If I like the vibes I follow to support.
Survivors with 10 hours in the game be like:
That's what I was feeling. Like there's no way she has all that many hours in this game.
@@GarlicKiss It's surprising how some people can have 100s or thousands of hours in the game but still play so terribly but they do exist.
the sad part is this ttv has a p100 sable 😭😭😭😭
@ Proof that some survivors just refuse to learn how to play well no matter how much BHVR caters to them.
@@nessiiemy God, shes so terrible at this game 💀
It's honestly so much fun to watch a UA-camr re-upload a streamer complain about them getting stream sniped😂😂😂
why would she stay on gen when shes coming right at you
She's useless and it's everyone else's fault - the mentality of these people.
Your caption was my exact thoughts, just remove TTV out of your name if you are paranoid you're being stream sniped. I feel sometimes people just don't take accountability for their performance in the fog and instead play the blame game on everyone else.
Many times I've come across a TTV and checked out their twitch. Recently, one killer was live and super kind and encouraging
I swear it feels as if half the streamers in this game even start streaming so they can blame others for “””sniping”””
It definitely does feel like a cope doesn't it?
Thankfully the ttvs I have checked out via their name has been extremely chill, I still watch some of them 2 years later.
I love when people say stream sniping. It’s hilarious.
Stream Snipera!
I swear survivors like this never touched killer
Stream sniping😮
In terms of top-down, Midwich is the smallest map in the game, but I get your point.
I too get stream sniped on a daily basis and I don't even stream. Or play the game for that matter.
I’m a small streamer who streamed a few times and I’ve NEVER assumed stream snipers in games I play cause wtf. 💗 much love
Funfact: 90% of TTVs in DBD aren't even live.
Honestly though I get more offline ttv's in my lobbies than I do online. Hell some of them are really toxic too offline
sadly i've played against ttvs like this where i might say "gg have good games" and they act like im being toxic when im really not
5:11 This is exactly what happened to me once!
Imagine having a huge glowing sign out the fron t of your house saying "Come watch me as I sleep through my windows!" and then getting mad that certain people are doing that
I once got accused of Streamsniping for just saying hello before a match, context I had no intention of remaining in the stream during the game
Days a lot about mindset, when I'm working on a gen with another survivor and the killer comes over unexpectedly i generally assume discordance. Takes a paranoid person to automatically jump to the idea that you're being sniped instead.
This is why as a killer main I give no mercy/fucks to any ttv streamer
This exact reason is why when im streaming i just take the loss and move on. I havent been playing dbd for very long BUT i know for a fact that there are many maaaaany ways to be found in this game. Auras, sound, you name it. I *want* people in my stream, killers or other survivors, its really fun to interact. In the end its just salt. Like i get salty too but like i said, just take the L and move on
If I encounter live TTV as a killer I always watch the vod after playing with them! Unless they have vods off... then I just listen I guess
"She knew exactly where I was! She's stream sniping!"
Lethal Pursuer: "Am I a joke to you?"
3:51 I'll have the same reaction too. 💀 Like hello? Your teammate is hooked.
If you dont want to be stream sniped or be paranoid about being stream sniped. Don't put TTV/Twitch in your username. Simple
I actually had a Myers legit stream sniping me but he was so frickin cool about it. Letting me finish all the gens and talking to me XD
unrelated but i love that spooks has some art from his lil kiddo on the wall under the oogie boogie painting. 😭🙏
I got accused for stream sniping because my Hex Totem was out in the open, and I had to check it constantly to stop it from cleansing.
Absolutely!
I stream and if I see a TTV in my game I like to see if they are live and if they are, I always close it and then say hello after the game
She shouldn’t be concerned about Sniping. 👀 I’d be more concerned about figuring out a way to get my platform hardwired and STOP STREAMING ON WIFI.
Great video love the content glad you’re calling out people that act like this.
I check that after match and usually watch their perspective of that match. Sometimes is funny to see their reaction to certain situations.
Except when I do it."
Also looking at the gameplay, Rebecca is clearly still rather new to the game and seems to know little enough about it that of course she will just cry streamsniper to anything she doesn't understand. Apart from micro, macro, game sense or even just common sense in some in-game situations: just wait until she finds out that killers also actually get aura reveal perks to use.
