Dice Control ?? Staying on axis?? What does that mean and why is it
    important to the advantage player??
The on axis or off axis topic is in many ways misunderstood. All we as
shooters can control is the grip, set and launch to the landing zone.
Once the cubes leave the hand the result can only be influenced by the
former, it cannot really be controlled.
The end result is a function of physics and the skill of the shooter.
Like hitting a golf ball with a club, baseball with a bat etc. The
shooter does what they can to influence the result by controlling
    (knowing and practicing) the skill.
When we refer to the end result of a dice toss as being on or off axis
we are actually describing the result in relation to the axis position
of the original set. In reality (as can be seen in slow motion) the dice
spin around several axis on their way to their final position. The
shooters skill is applied in an effort to minimize the movements of the
dice as much as humanly possible to assist the cubes on their path to
    their final position. Just saying..
All the best, remember luck has very little to do with it and stay
    frosty.

Excellent video, Mac. I hope that other shooters understand your precise, & thorough explanation. I have been saying ALL ALONG that " TRUE" On Axis is often misunderstood. I chuckle, & shake my head everytime I see a shooter start his/her toss with the conventional hardways dice set ( 55, 44, 33, 22), then toss a 54 nine, & QUICKLY say: " I'm " On Axis" ) without even looking at the sides of both dice ( the TRUE axis). Shooters simply dont understand that the 54 tossed from the Hardways set could actually result in any number of dice sets BESIDES the hardways set that they SWEAR they are " On Axis" with. Why, Mac? Simply because shooters only look at the top numbers, & NOT the sides ( axis ) of the dice. Dice bounce, twist, tumble, yaw, & everything else before coming to a complete stop. They go through many different gyrations prior to final rest, & this is why I always bore viewers in my videos regarding the least amount of movement after the dice come off of the backwall. On Axis is highly overrated, misunderstood, & shooters miss the whole concept of trying to having the dice to stay closely cropped together, & close to the backwall on EACH & EVERY toss......which is STILL no guarantee, but AT LEAST its the next, & ONLY best thing to not having the dice to move AT ALL ( the PERFECT end result which ain't gonna happen) after contacting the backwall. There are a ton of ways to toss the dice, Mac........but only one way to TRULY influence the outcome of the toss, & thats to minimize bounce & rollout off of the backwall. Mac, you MUST restrict the rollout off of the backwall, & HOPEFULLY keep both dice behind the word " Passline", & to have the dice no further than 6-8 inches apart after contact with the backwall. Shooters are more concerned with just hitting a spot on the table, & not even caring if one die ends up at the opposite end of the table. What do the schools always teach? Focus on your landing spot. Lol . Who gives a shit about that landing spot if you absolutely NAIL that landing spot EVERY time, but your dice end up 4 feet from the backwall, & both dice are 3 feet apart from each other?
JUST MY OPINION, because I know that many shooters will have their dice roll several feet apart, no where near the backwall, & SWEAR its influence JUST BECAUSE they have a few long rolls.
    Stay frosty.

Thanks CC, I held off putting it out for a long time but figured the time had come to talk about the on axis off axis concept. I believe understanding how the dice react once they hit the table is essential knowledge of anyone on a quest to become a good shooter. That is how the shooter adjusts to bounce, table length etc. Just like how a golfer adjusts their swing to compensate for wind, trees tall grass, etc.

Great stuff! X,Y,Z in relation to A,B,C Axis. A rotating stick parallel to the wall, B rotating stick perpendicular to the wall and C rotating stick vertical just for future reference. XA YB ZC. What underlayment are you using?

Thanks for watching. When I did that video the material under the layout was an old layout, two layers of flannel and two sheets of newspaper. The newspaper has been replaced with 1/8” closed cell foam.

Hehe, that's why I don't consider myself as a dice influencer or dice controller. I consider myself as a controlled shooter. All I can control is what happens up until dice hits the felt.. Cashiers Cage is correct, I've analyzed my tosses over the years and that is why I stopped using excel to track my throws. Because I know that dice have no memory and that I've yet to see anyone throw on axis. If you ask me everyone is off axis...😆 but if some want to believe they are on axis thats their peragative. I know what's real.

Dice Grinder....one other thing that I might add. You CAN minimize how erratically your dice bounce off of the backwall with dedicated practice. However, what some shooters wont admit is that it takes above average hand/eye coordination in order to successfully execute. I'm very opinionated on certain things, & unfortunately my explanations/opinions are long & detailed, because viewers wouldn't understand/accept the short explanations. Imagine if I ONLY said: " Dice Don't stay On Axis" .....& said nothing else!!! Lol
Remember THIS.....Schools, Gurus, Instructors have a certain agenda. A business model. They simply MUST say whatever it takes to garner students, & to maintain an audience.
If " things" would have been explained truthfully/ properly when Dice Influencing was in its infancy....people would truly understand what they are up against when TRULY trying to influence the dice.
I have two videos tossing on 1/8th inch closed cell foam that I promised myself that I wasn't going to release. However, after careful consideration......I have decided otherwise.
You can ABSOLUTELY minimize bounce from the backwall on ALL type surfaces ( bouncy or not). You simply have to know HOW to do it.
Viewers call me arrogant, say that I cherry-pick my videos, etc, simply because they dont want the truth regarding Dice Influencing, & support horrible Instructors on UA-cam JUST because of befriending someone. Nothing wrong with friendships, but strong followings, & friendships dont necessarily equate to proper Dice Influencing instruction.
If Mudslide or myself were to call ourselves INSTRUCTORS, & we CONSISTENTLY executed errant tosses wherein the dice flew all over the table, but diverted attention from the egregiously flawed tosses, by telling viewers sh*t such as: " love you guys as viewers", & other such nonsense......we'd IMMEDIATELY, & RIGHTFULLY-SO....be the laughing stock of UA-cam.
      It is what it is!!!
Disclaimer: Regarding improper Dice Influencing Instruction on UA-cam.......Mudslide has nothing to do with MY opinions. My opinions, concerns, are CLEARLY MY OWN, & Mudslide has stated absolutely NOTHING or agreed with any of my opinions regarding Instructors on UA-cam!!!!

@@cashierscage i don't consider myself as an instructor and in fact I don't condone anyone to go to the casinos unless they want to and can afford to lose what they plan on brining to casino. I never even wanted to start a channel, but whatever I'm not one of those who needs to hide their face or edit my videos, what you see is what you get with me. I just show how I play, shoot, or strategize.
You are correct you can minimize how the dice react on any table condition. Why do you think most DI like hard tables ? Cause it's easier to minimize how the dice react. That's why my practicing is different than most because I actually practice worst table conditions possible 😅 using 2 layers batting and 1/8th closed cell foam. Granted i recently removed my foam to go semi-bouncy.
When talking with people when I'm at casinos. And they say they watched videos on UA-cam. I tell them to take it as a grain of salt. There's some that have good info and others that I would never take their advice especially if they haven't played longer than me. Everyone's going to PSO some are just luckier than others. 😆
