The Plus is ten times better than the Pro Max. I had the 14 Pro Max before getting my 15 Plus. The battery life on the Plus is way better. The camera doesn't have the same zoom quality as the Max but I always noticed on the Max that the more you zoomed, the worse the picture quality got. Always blurry at some point. So it wasn't worth having the extra lense in my opinion.
The fact I just ordered an IPhone 15 and same color lol but for a good deal you can trade in your old iPhone for any iPhone and I just had to pay 50 bucks for the IPhone 15 so basically it’s practically a steal they basically pay half of the phone for the phone your trading in and I have the XR so I had it for 5 years and I definitely need the upgrade.

I have this phone and it does get warm when you use it for too long, probably around 30 minutes or so but not to hot where you can't touch it. as long as you have a case, you should be good
If you just need an extra large screen and a larger battery life, go with the 15 plus. If you do need all of the mentioned above + all of the pro features, go with the 15 pro max
