I’m so proud of her! I was no longer even caring about the ROTY, because I was just feeling like it was going to be prevented no matter what she was doing. Hopefully, that’s not the case now though. I’m glad to finally be hearing a little good about her from mainstream! Honestly, before seeing what I seen in the last, now three games tho… I would have been upset for Reese losing her streak. I’m not now however, because I watched weird stuff. CC is given nothing! She’s doubled, tripled, and blitzed! She’s out here earning her stats respectfully. As far as the turnovers, most of those are assessed to CC if she passes the ball to her teammates and they fumble the pass or lose the ball. So it's not CC losing the ball or getting it stolen from her that accounts for the majority of her TO stats.
It seems the media has overhyped Reese to ensure she doesn't feel left out. I'm beginning to think Clark will win the ROTY trophy. She can clinch it with another 30/40-point game or another triple-double.
Why is Chelsea Gray considered the "point god" of the WNBA, and in no season has she averaged better numbers than Clark is averaging rn? In fact Clark is destroying her numbers THIS season. So going back to the question, "If you put Clark on the Olympic team, who do you take off???" I think it's pretty obvious.
Because the people who actually know the game recognizes that if you are in a team like the ACES with THREE guards where assists is SPREAD around and you can still record the numbers that Chelsea has, then she is not just good, but EXCELLENT. In addition to the number of assists she dishes is the KIND of assists she gives her teammates which you can make a whole film of.
Now let us compare CC and the Fever. On the Fever, NOBODY else really helps with the assisting, evidenced by last night's game where both Kelsey and Nalyssa both did not have a SINGLE assist between them even though they both played for over 30 mins. So, CC's assists numbers are that good because she plays with a bunch of DEFICIENT passers on her team. This does not mean she is not good at her job, just not the best in the league.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 you make a great point but when she was on the Sparks as a veteran she still didn’t have Clark type numbers. She didn’t play her rookie season with the Sun due to injury. Rode the bench the next season. Got traded to the Sparks and rode the bench again. Finally started playing significant minutes the following year and even over the next few years leading the league in assists at around 5.5pg her stat lines still don’t compare to Clark’s in her rookie season. And if CC actually had better finishers around her, her numbers would be even higher.
Replace Clark with Gray on the Fever: is Gray putting up the same type of numbers as Clark, when at no point in her career has she ever put up these kinds of numbers? Surrounded by players who consistently blow gimme layups, who can’t knock down midrange shots, who aren’t elite post up players, who are terrible at setting screens and playing pick and roll

Candice Parker won MVP and ROTY in the same year. Here’s a comparison of their stats.
Parker rookie year 610 pts, 313 rebounds, 113 assists, 42 steals, and 75 blocks
Clark with 16 games to go 404 pts, 142 rebounds, 188 assist, 36 steals, and 22 blocks.
If Clark continues to play at this high level, she probably surpasses Parker on points and steals. As a point guard she's not likely to get as many rebounds or blocks.
@@Struwwel2 imo Clark would have to go 700pts, 200 rebounds, 300 assists, 60 steals, and 40 blocks and the fever get to a winning record before she’s in the MVP conversation which is possible. But even then I doubt they’d give it to her.

Look at the 4th quarter when Caitlin was no longer the point guard and had onlye one shot as Christ Sides made Erica Wheeler the point guard when Erica wheeler only made 2 points and just 1 assist. Again, if Caitlin Clark was just given the ball, they could have one all their gams and Caitlin Clark's stats would be even better. Erica is 33 years old and on maximum contract but she is now worthless.

NAH! Paige Beukers, JuJu Watkins and other incoming rookies are who will be in a fight with CC. It will take CC some time, years even before she develops her game to the level that Aja has.
You could build the Iowa System with Caitlin Clark as point guard and fast runners and take women basketball to a whole another level. All these old vets have no stamina or speed in their game, they would just run them over like they did in the first quarters against Ny Liberty and Phoenix. The viewership would explode for the league escpacially next year adding some more exiting college players like Paige Bueckers to get more high caliber matchtups. 4 games Clark vs Bueckers will brake all kinds of records next year.
Putting on my aluminum foil hat, but I don't think Grinder and Taurasi are really that hurt. I think they are trying to rest up for the Olympics because if they do not go to the games and play exceedingly well, they are going to get roasted for leaving CC out.

At the end you have good points. Wilson is putting up huge numbers and is much better than AR and more exciting. Alyssa Thomas is putting up huge numbers: a couple of triple doubles, leads in assist (CC22 will probably pass her tomorrow), but you don't hear about her much. What is the deal with this stupid fraudulent DDs streak? So, yeah, why doesn't ESPN hype some players who are really playing well and putting up huge numbers?

I've been watching Clark since High School. She struggle a little bit in college and I knew the W will be a difficulty transition for her, but once she finds her footing... It's over!
I don't like the TOs either but I look at it in context. First off, she has great vision and her teammates need to catch up. They have to learn how to play together. Also, some are bad decisions on her part where she is forcing things. The things she can improve upon are the TOs, I think she picks up her dribble too soon, her 3pt percentage needs improvement and lastly, the one she is addressing right now it shooting more. Yet even though she is shooting more, her assists are on the rise.
All good and valid points. But watch out next year.

I think having a month off for the Rookies will be very beneficial, so I'm not hoping for CC22 to go. Collegiate season right into the WNBA season. I think she get shot back after the break. Watch out! Lots of 25 - 35 points with 13-15 assists for CC22 after the break!

I do think they could both play in the Olympics. I think they would have to work on some of Angel’s shots (no hate), and maybe practice her amazing rebounding with pass it back out when she can’t get it and time is left. Mainly, I would get her to work on making the backboard her best friend. With Caitlin, they would need to see if they can keep up with her speed and catching her passes to prevent some of the TO. They wouldn’t play a lot anyways, but it would be nice to see them.

The only reason I can think of them hyping up Reese is to make CC's Rookie of the Year win mean more than her just competing for MVP of the league, with Rookie of the Year being an after thought and not meaning anything. If that was true then kudos to them even though we're not buying it. For example there is no real challenge currently for her in terms of offense, defense or team impact from any rookie including Reese. So they have to make it seem like she's overcoming some hurdle I suppose even though she's been hard fouled, had a lot of no call fouls against her and kept her poise and is great on the mic in interviews. One thing this season has done is really shine a light on Aliyah Boston she's a great player, intelligent and likely has developed a lot of fans of all kinds likely good things will come her way such as indorsements possible shoe deals etc.
She is in the mvp conversation for sure and as a rookie that's 🤯 ROTY easy!
IF Fever makes it to the playoffs, then CC has the chance to be the first rookie to win ROTY AND MVP in the same season!

You obviously know NOTHING about the make up of the team. It has SIX guards and TWO Forward/Guards on the team, while it has ONE true forward and TWO F/C along with ONE true center. If anything, AR would have a more stronger chance to make the team since BG is THE CENTER and Napheesa is mainly a forward.

The team only has ONE TRUE forward and ONE TRUE center, so if you could see how CC has a better chance than AR to get on this team from that, then it is plain to understand why most of you CC fans are considered HIGHLY DELUSIONAL.

@@TemT8 There are other BETTER players for BOTH positions than CC and AR but of AR and CC the former has a better chance because ONCE AGAIN, they have an abundance of guards and YOU KNOW as well as I DO that they are not carrying DT because they are looking for her to really HELP them. She will play as few minutes as possible because ONCE AGAIN, they have an ABUNDANCE of GUARDS.
If it is a guard they want then Skylar Diggins would be a better choice than CC any day.

There's not a chance that Reese is even considered for the Olympic team. She can't shoot at all. She was around 20% the game before, and today she was 3-13. Sure, she can rebound. But so can many other players in the league, and those players don't have to beg all the time at the end of a game, just to get 10 points.
