As an audiobook editor and producer, I found this so entertaining. Yes, green apples 🍏 are tart enough to produce more mouth moisture which helps avoid mouth ‘clicks’ and other unwanted noises that a microphone can pick up. And they are good for you. 👍. Thank you for showcasing this incredible talent.
So glad I stumbled upon this interview. I've listened to SO many audiobooks narrated by Julia Whelan, and she is my favorite. She doesn't just read the words; she is performing. Whenever I listen to a new book and I hear her voice, I immediately know it's her and smile knowing that I can just sit back and enjoy where she is about to take me.
All work has value. Glad she's getting some shine.
I rememberJulie Whelan from the tv series she was in - what an interesting direction her career has taken. Not only a great "behind-the-scenes" look at audiobook narration, but also a "master class" on how to do it. She's really honed her craft, excelled at it and it shows - esp. in an industry (performing) where visuals usually trump audio.
She narrated Educated, one of my favorites! She has an exceptionally beautiful voice :)

She narrated The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah and it was amazing. All the voices were perfection - especially Rose. Jeff Glor could have a second career - his voice is book-worthy.

I could literally listen to her read the phone book. I had only been listening to audiobooks a few months when I listened to a book narrated by her and was immediately wowed by her voice! After that first listen I began to search for other audiobooks narrated by her because she always elevates a good book even higher! Thank you for reading!

I thought the thumbnail was Anna Kendrick, another former child actor that has read her own audio book, which is really good.
George Guidall. He's the only other narrator whose voice has enchanted me like Ms. Whelan's ...both are audiobook virtuosos.
have listened to some of her emily henry and taylor jenkins reid narrations, she's very good.

Is it “normal” that I totally don’t recognize her voice at 1x speed. UA-cam is always 1x, Libby always at 2x
Kudos to her for not falling off the rails like Britney, LiLo, the Olsen twins, Robert Downey Jr., Winona Ryder, MJ, etc.
