This podcast literally changed my life, I'm 17 I was praying today God please lead me in what direction you want me to go what church, what denomination, what to do with myself and with this episode it's like it was made for me it was insane so many things we so personal to me it just kind of became really clear that catholicism is where Jesus is leading me. Thank you Lila so much you are you incredible and Jesus so clearly shines through you. May God bless you and your family you are an inspiration and it's so obvious God is working through you.

I was deep in New Age and God rescued me from that hellish life. I went back to Protestant churches but felt so empty, it was only in my prayers at home I felt the presence and healing of God. I prayed one day asking Jesus why His Church could only offer a meager Ted Talk and from that day I started getting bombarded with Catholic content. Scott Hahn on Pints was one of the first people I heard from, he told me about John 6 and Revelation 12. Fast forward and now I’m going to be received into the Holy Catholic Church this Easter, praise be to God!! I can’t wait to receive the Eucharist, Mass has already healed me so much and I can only imagine the unity I will feel to Christ receiving His true body and blood. God bless you Lila, thank you for your podcasts and sharing the good news🤍🫶🏼

@@DavidElCid300 this is a strange question to ask, especially since salvation is not just a one-time event but a process that continues throughout our lives.
We are saved by God’s grace, which is first received through Baptism (Mark 16:16), which initiates us into the life of the Church. From there, we are called to live according to God’s commandments, to grow in faith, and to actively participate in the Eucharist, the sacrament that strengthens us.
James 2:26: "faith without works is dead." Salvation involves living a life of love, service, and repentance, regularly seeking God’s mercy through Confession when we fall short.

Scott was the first person I heard who was presenting REAL arguments. Through him I found so many others who do a great job and through the early church fathers I realized that not only was Catholicism ok, but that I MUST become Catholic if I’m going to be honest in my seeking of Christs truth.

Believe me when I say that I've been there. I was baptized Protestant, and went to school in my hometown is predominantly Catholic. The majority of my former high school classmates were Catholic. And it took several years for me to make the choice to convert from Protestant to Catholic. My mom and I started attending Mass when Covid first hit in 2020. In 2021, we enrolled in RCIA, and finally made our 1st Confession, and got Confirmed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil in April 2022.

@@DavidElCid300 in the Eucharist, we truly receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. This is not a symbol or mere remembrance; it is a real and substantial presence of Christ. We base this belief on Jesus’ words in the Gospel of John (6:51-58), where He says, 'I am the Bread of Life... unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.' Catholics believe that during the Mass, through the action of the priest, the bread and wine are transubstantiated, meaning they are changed in substance into the Body and Blood of Christ, even though they still appear as bread and wine.
This belief is rooted in the early Church, where Christians from the very beginning understood the Eucharist as the true presence of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23-29). The Eucharist is a mystery that invites awe and reverence, as we believe we are receiving Jesus Himself, the source of eternal life. It’s both beautiful and humbling, as we are invited to share in this divine gift of union with Christ.

    • @DarealNickyB

@@DavidElCid300 the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord Established this during the Last Supper. Where he hold up the bread and wine saying, “this is my body, and this is my blood” and went on to say this is “the everlasting covenant”.
      How is it Jesus?
Transubstantiation. Where it’s his Body, blood, soul, and divinity in the form of bread and wine.
We have to remember it’s his “Actual” Body and blood not his “Literal” body and blood we don’t think we’re eating Jesus finger or anything weird. We just believe it’s the True and fullest presence of our Lord on earth.
At the same time I can’t prove this but I can tell the difference in how I feel and how I act after taking the Eucharist. I do feel and act more holy, that’s how I came to understanding. When I’m not taking the Eucharist I’m more angry, more likely to act on violence, more lustful, and depressed. But every time I get to take the Eucharist it’s like all those feelings don’t necessarily go away but I’m able to control them more. I don’t think explaining it is gonna make someone understand, it’s something you have to experience and focus on the results and changes to your life.

Good morning, Light-filled Loving Lila! Thank you for your great livestream yesterday and thank you for having Dr. Scott Hahn on! Prayed to our Lord Jesus to help you Lila, Dr. Scott Hahn, and for all of us to grow in Faith, Hope, and Charity through the intercession of Saint Paul (patron saint of gentle Christians, evangelists, theologians, missionaries, writers, journalists, authors, public workers, rope and saddle makers, and tent makers).
    The three theological virtues=
    1. Faith= we believe in God and believe all that He has revealed to us and that Holy Church proposes for our belief.
    2. Hope= we desire, and with steadfast trust await from God, eternal life and the graces to merit it.
    3. Charity= we love God above all things and our neighbor as ourselves for love of God. Charity, the form of all the virtues, "binds everything together in perfect harmony" (Col 3:14).
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
"To love is to will the good of another."
    -St. Thomas Aquinas
1 John 4:16 We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us.
God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.
Hope your family, Dr. Scott Hahn, and everybody here as a light-filled peaceful joyful blessed week!

John 6:53-59 Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
“It is not to remain in a golden ciborium that He comes down each day from Heaven, but to find another Heaven, the Heaven of our soul in which He takes delight.”
    -St. Therese of Lisieux
“This is the wonderful truth, my dear friends: the Word, which became flesh two thousand years ago, is present today in the Eucharist.”
    - St. John Paul II
“People who place themselves before the sun get a tan; people who place themselves before the Eucharist become saints.”
    -Blessed Carlo Acutis
John 18:37-38 So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”
Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”
1 Corinthians 15:12-19 But if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither has Christ been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then empty [too] is our preaching; empty, too, your faith. Then we are also false witnesses to God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if in fact the dead are not raised.
For if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised, and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the most pitiable people of all.
2 Timothy 4:1-5 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.
For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths.
But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
John 14:30-31 I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
John 17: 20-21 '“I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me."
Thanks again, and hope you and your family, and everyone here have a good day!

For me the uniqueness of Scott Hahn's ministry only proves that somehow that eventually churches are complementary and all of them probably have some kind doctrinal errors. Could you figure him out without knowing that after all he began as a fervent protestant?

Lila, it would be helpful if you clarified that you were an Evangelical Protestant. Because Catholics can be Evangelical, too. Thank you for all you do! ❤

I read his first book, but find his thinking hard to follow and think that some in the church put to much faith in his theology.

There is a huge arrogance, leniency and pride that exists in the "once saved, always saved" argument. As humans, we are always possess concupiscence to sin. It's also dangerous, because it's basically saying since you're so sure of yourself, it didn't matter whether you steal, murder or assault however many times, you will, at the end of the day, never to see the repercussions in your actions. As Christians, accountability is strictly taught as our faith rests in a just God, not a lenient God. The Old testament accounts multiple proof of that. Yes, Jesus' coming is to bring hope, but we must remember that the Holy Trinity nods at each other as they are one God. That means Jesus is equally just as much as He brings hope in accordance to God's will.
