'tHello Jules!! Thank you so much for the strength training! I am so looking forward to continue with this program as I have wanted to get into strength training. I did the kickboxing vid before I stated the strength training. I also want to share some exciting news (for me)... I have had real trouble going down stairs as it hurts my knees and I have a fear of falling. I always held on to hand rails and went sooooo slowly. However, the other day I went down the stairs out the front of our place to get the post and I didn't need the rails and wasn't scared of falling!! I am getting stronger!! I called out to my hubby to watch me go up and down the stairs so easily. He was so happy for me and said the exercise is making you strong. I can't thank you enough for all the videos you do for us.💖 These have changed my life for the better!!!
Oh wow Lesa!!! Thank you SO much for sharing your amazing progress with me!!! I am all smiles right now...I LOVE knowing that the workouts make a difference. You have absolutely made my day. I am super happy for you and I look forward to hearing about your continued progress as you start this strength program. I also want to say, kudos to you for making it back each time to work out. I hope you are proud of pushing yourself for being here and for taking care of your body. 🤗💖💪
This is exactly what I need! I have lost so much muscle tone over the last 18 months which is not acceptable! I am 71 and eager to get my strength back. Thank you for this! See you tomorrow!
This was an absolutely lovely session. I feel so complete this morning 🌄. Thank you so much for creating such uplifting content Jules 🌄☕🌄 See you tomorrow my lovely fitness friend 🤗❤️🤗
Having got going with the many super walking workouts, I have decided to move to more targeted videos, and having done Day 1 of the Strength Training programme, I am very excited to see how I get on with this. Jules, you have a real instinct for what your target audience wants!
Oh yay! I am SO glad to read that you are giving the strength training a go, Marjorie! I look forward to your feedback as you progress through the days.💪
Seriously this couldn’t have come at a better time for me! I’m using lighter weights but I feel them. I even got on the floor and did my first plank! Thank you so much for this doable series!
Yay!!! I'm thrilled to read that you did your first plank today. That's awesome. Thanks so much for sharing that with me. And...it's totally okay that you used lighter weights. That's great actually. I don't want people feeling they need to use a heavy weight to start and I hope that isn't the impression I gave. I want people to use a weight that feels right for them. Use whatever weight you feel you need and over time, you'll notice change:)
Please use whatever weight you feel comfortable using when you are first starting out. Start light and over the next few weeks you will see change and can likely move up in the weight you are lifting. We all have to start somewhere and using a light weight in the beginning is best for safety. Learn the form first and then we'll focus on increasing the amount of weight.
I don't like strength training, but I've resolved to be healthy, and it's an essential part of staying strong. You made it accessible in this video. I even did the plank without dying. Thank you for continuing to encourage and for offering various types of exercise in ways that are doable. You convinced me that I can do this. Thanks again!
I’m so excited to have found this workout channel and join this community!! I’m 61 years (young, haha) and quit my gym during the pandemic. So I’ve got dozens of workout channels in my Subscribed list. This is the first workout that made me want to do MORE strength training. Woohooo!! Thank you Jules!! ❤️ 🏋️♀️
Thank you SO much for sharing that with me, Sandy! I am thrilled to read that this has made you interested in doing more. Welcome to my channel!!! I create gentle, beginner and intermediate workouts. If you go to my playlists, you’ll find them categorized there.
I am so glad I found your channel! Your routines are perfect for people over 50. I have started this challenge and have added the Gentle exercise videos every day I exercise. Thanks for caring enough about people that you want us strong!
Thank you so much for your comment, Connie. I am thrilled to read that you are starting this program and also enjoying the other workouts. Just so you know, I put all of my workouts into playlists to make it easier for viewers to find the ones that suit their fitness level best (gentle, beginner and intermediate workouts). Welcome to my channel! I hope you continue to enjoy the workouts as you get through them.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. Welcome to my channel and thank you for letting me know that you're new here. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
Thank you for starting this program. I'm in my mid 50s. I can easily do any of your programs but realize I need more strength training and not as much cardio as I age. I'm looking forward to your new program.
Using the January 2023 Workout Calendar, this was a strength day. "Detest" is probably a strong word. I've put off strength workouts, but have been using your All-in-one workouts that include strength. I am following this month's calendar with Saturday as a workout dedicated to strength. Thank you for the motivation.
Jules, just finished Day 1. Excellent! I’m not a beginner but am trying to be more consistent with strength training, which I love! 💕 Used 8s for my heavy weights and 5 for light, and that was perfect. This is exactly what I need to get me back on track! I used qi gong to warm up and followed strength training with a short cardio session. This 70-year-old grandma is going to get her muscle back! Thank you!! 😊
Woohoo! I love reading that you are ready to get your strength back! I definitely look forward to reading about your progress as you get through the program. 5 and 8 lbs is impressive for getting back into it, Joan!
Jules, thanks so much for this program. I like that you are focusing on specific parts of the body, and looking forward to the upcoming videos which also address legs, core, etc. The way you teach is so supportive and calming... it's a pleasure!
Thanks Jules for another short but very effective strength training programme. No doubts strength training and balance is important at any age but it becomes more important as we age. If somebody is starting for the first time I think it is important just to add to do warm up first and do the stretches at the end. We are doing it for a while so no problem for us. I am really thankful for the way you explain everything in detail in a very clear and pleasant manner. It is such a blessing to have your channel. Stay blessed❤
Thank you! I will do my best to remind people to ensure they warm up first every time. I'm torn whether to add a warm up each time or just to get right into the program since the expectation is people are to do a warm-up on their own. I say the program is 10-15 minutes so I am afraid if I add the warm up and stretching in, then people will say it isn't 10-15 minutes (even though the strength portion would be). Some people will also do a cardio workout first so they won't need the warm-up. I think I'll wait to hear more feedback and then decide.
@@ImprovedHealth Thanks Jules. You don’t have to add warm up and stretching in every video as it is a short workout programme. Just add a sentence like it is important to warm up before starting any exercise. Hope you did not mind my suggestion.
@@bhupinderjitparmar9244 I absolutely appreciate it! I often have to redo my intro and because I say it over a few times before I'm happy with it, I sometimes think I said something but realize it wasn't said in the final cut.
Just completed day 1! Thank you for the simple, clear instructions. I’m in my late 40s and consider myself fit and strong however after hurting my right bicep I’ve avoided lifting weights and have only been using my own body weight. After finding your channel I feel confident I can safely move back into incorporating weights into my routine. Thank you ☺️ looking forward to day 2!
Thank you very much for your comment, Traci. My workouts are quite appropriate for many ages...I just have a lot of fit, active seniors that follow me for the more challenging ones that I do create:)
I just turned 64 this past Saturday. In November, my dr put me on Mounjaro (I’m diabetic) to help lower my a1c. Around the same time, I discovered you!🙏🙌. I’ve been doing your workouts since then and have lost 20 pounds and gone down 2 sizes. I still have belly fat to lose. I’ve done research and learned strength training can help with that. I started this series today. After doing Day 1 I still had lots of energy and did one of your 60s cardio workouts. All this after teaching 18 kindergarten kiddos😂. I’m so glad I found you and have shared your channel with so many people. Thank you for creating such a wonderful variety of fun workout videos.
Oh wow, Deborah!!! Thank you SO much for sharing your progress with me! I am SUPER happy to read that you are starting strength training! Honestly, strength training is the best thing to be doing as we age to increase strength and speed up metabolism. I definitely look forward to reading about your progress as the weeks go on. Keep me posted!!!
I have hit the bell so I will not miss it when you add a new video or program. My husband and I just started the 30 day strength training program which we know we really need (we're 67 and 66). Finding an actual program is so exciting. Again, THANK YOU!!!
Hi Jules, I am a big fan of your all-in-one workouts, mainly because they cover all bases and I don't have to search for each element when short of time. However I enjoyed this one and definitely felt the burn, so I look forward to what is in store! I hope that sometime in the future we could have some longer all-in-ones again if possible? I very much appreciate all you do and am definitely seeing results, thank you 😊
I have been meaning to provide a weekly plan for people to follow (with strength, cardio, etc.). I think that'll help since it'll be laid out for people and you won't have to search for workouts. I just need to update my website first. I will definitely create more all-in-ones again. For now I am focusing on these short workouts and then I'll give thought to how I can incorporate the all-in-ones. When you say longer ones, how long are you hoping for?
@@ImprovedHealth Something around 45 mins would be ideal for me. A weekly plan is a great idea, I try to cover everything over the course of a week and even keep a diary to help me do that. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos 😊
Hello, Jules! Just found you this morning and am so happy to have done so! I am 70 years young and am so out of shape. I am reading more and more how strength training is so important for us seniors.....I have a bike and treadmill and will be adding this program to my program. Day 1 done--saved all the other days and looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow. I especially like how you keep it short and have very clear instructions on what to do. I did the first set sitting down but then stood up for the rest. I was even able to get down on the floor and hold the plank with you! Very excited to get my body back in shape! Hugs from Maryland!
Welcome to my channel and thank you for letting me know that you're new here, Barb! I am SO glad to read that you're adding strength workouts into your weekly plan. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. For strength workouts, I have also created 6 levels of calendars and have uploaded them to my website (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com). Just look at the top tab that says 'workout calendars' and you can find them there. I hope you enjoy the variety of workouts!
I am so excited to have found your channel! I will dedicate myself to this strength training. I have wanted to find a program to follow for a while now. You are so clear in your instructions and I just know I will be successful in improving my strength. I will also walk with you every day💚🎉
Thanks Cathy. I'm so glad to read that you're ready to get back to strength training. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. For strength training, I have 6 levels of calendars to follow on my website if you're interested.
This is the first time I've felt empowered instead of demoralized after trying a workout video and being over 60 and out of shape. Thank you --I like your style and calm manner. No cheerleading antics or constant chatter, just keeping it real. Looking forward to Day Two and that is a new one for me!
I'm very happy to read your comment this morning, Molly. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Welcome to my channel and thank you for letting me know that you're new here. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. If you enjoyed this one, you can find plenty more at this same level under the 'beginner level' playlists. I create cardio, strength, all-in-ones (everything included) and stretching videos. I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out!
Jules you are a life saver. I'm not a senior but i'm close ;) and I'm working on my health. This channel has been a life saver (literally)! Thank you Jules!
Did my first day of this set of workouts today. Ended up going for a short walk first and then did this at 8:30 this evening. I tutor from home, so my day depends on how many students I see each day. Have done several of your workouts and have enjoyed each one. You have a great personality, and it shows in your videos. Until tomorrow!
Aww, thank you so much for your kind comment, Diane. I really appreciate it. I'm glad to read that you have started this program and I look forward to hearing about your progress as the weeks go on (if you decide to share it). 💖
I have worked out almost everyday since I turned 30. I am now 69. I feel my age some days but wonder what kind of shape I would be in if I had not started this daily routine so many years ago. Going to the gym is too time consuming. I would rather do a workout video, pool aerobics, or ride my bike or walk. I will definitely keep you posted. 😃
@@dianetanski464 I've worked with seniors since 2005 and there are so many people in their 60's and 70's who are so frail because they didn't work out. It's sad to see since there is no reason for that happen (unless due to a medical issue). Kudos to you for taking care of your health. This is a great time to start focusing on strength now to compliment the other workouts you're doing.
I did more strength training before our dog Sadie completely annihilated my right shoulder and tore my bicep muscle. Anything heavier than a 3 lb is too much for it to handle. If I am doing rows or triceps, biceps I am ok. Flies and front raises are really difficult. Hopefully these exercises will help to strengthen it. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Hi Jules: I absolutely love this workout. I can’t use 10 pounds. I’m up to 5 pounds. I’ve only been doing weights 2 times a week, but I’m going to try to do 3 times a week. Thanks for this great weight workout. Have a great day 😅😅😅
Hmm, I hope I didn't give the impression for people to use 10 lbs. I definitely want viewers to use the weight that works for each person. Please use the weight that works best for YOU:)
Thank you and welcome to my channel! Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) in both seated and standing workouts, and categorize them all into the playlists. Just look for 'playlists' on the main page and scroll down to where you see the seated options. I also started a second channel dedicated to chair workouts and will add the link for you here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts I now upload all new seated workouts to the new channel. Lastly, I upload all of the workouts from both channels to my website at www.improvedhealthforseniors.com I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
Your channel has been such a blessing! I manage the care of both elderly parents, all on my own. You're workouts always bring a smile to my face and help me feel stronger during this tough stage of life. Thank you!! Also, I have diastasis recti so I avoid planks. Wondering if you have a recommendation for core strength with that issue in mind?
Thank you so much for your message, Kari. It's very meaningful, so thank you. In terms of ab exercises, you could lie down on your back and do single toe taps. Have your knees up at a 90 degree angle and then tap the one foot down (slowly) and again, raise it up slowly. You can google it to see exactly what I mean. I can imagine you are super busy with caring for your parents. Kudos to you for finding time to work out. Your parents are very fortunate to have you:)
Only been able to start this programme today, loving it already! Started with 1kg weights so as not to overdo it and 1/2 for lighter weights. Managed the plank so I'm feeling very happy with my 73 year old self 😊 thank you for all your brilliant routines! ❤👌
Welcome to my channel and thank you for letting me know that you're new here. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out. I'm sorry to read about how you've been feeling but I love that you are determined. You will absolutely get stronger by taking it slow, doing what you can and returning to healthy movement each day. I look forward to reading about your progress!
Love this! Seems like all my workouts are aerobic-based. Now I realize I’m not doing enough weight work. I even got down on the floor for the plank! I have 2 bionic knees, and kneeling doesn’t feel so great, but I managed to do it anyway. Thanks so much…more like this please.
You’re not alone. Most people focus on cardio which is why I wanted to create this program. My hope is with a short strength workout, people will realize they can fit it in. Soon enough, the benefits will be noticed and people will want to continue. I’m glad to read that you are looking forward to strength workouts:) Congrats on doing the plank! Sounds like you are a determined person!
I love that I just found your videos, and without any equipment at all I could just jump in. I don’t have weights so I started today with 2 cans of garbanzo beans 🤣. The Abba one really works up a sweat! My plan is to do all 25 days of this and the Abba workout each day.
Welcome to my channel, Elise! I had to laugh when I read about the garbanzo beans:) A massive congrats for choosing to start strength training! I definitely look forward to reading about your progress down the road if you wish to share it. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. If you enjoyed this one, you can find plenty more at this same level under the 'intermediate level' playlists. I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
I love this! I had been praying for direction regarding my exercise program, especially regarding strength training and then came across this. I'm excited to do this and I'm expecting to get stronger ☺ Bless you!
Happy New Week Jules. I loved this as an add-on to your new warm up. I did your 10 minute cardio from this month after this, followed by some stretching from your 70s cardio. It was perfect. It is because of your All-In-One videos I finally can enjoy doing strength training. After almost a year of great videos I can look forward to doing strength. I did start doing it 3-4 times a week. It shocked me, believe me. I do love your circuit video you did. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us. 😊
I’m so glad to read that you are looking forward to strength workouts. I am excited to hear about the changes you and others experience as we go through these next few weeks.
I did it and can't wait for tomorrow. I started with 3kgs but dropped it to 2kg. I think doing tabata before this wasn't my best idea, so after day 2 then I will do cardio or tabata lol.. .every day is a learning day. Really really enjoyed this.
I actually prefer to do cardio first and then weights but a lot of people prefer the opposite. It all depends on what works best for each person. Kudos to you for getting both workouts done!
Hello Jules! Just started this program. I really liked the first workout. Of course it is short, but I will add training to improve cerebral circulation or for joints or walking training. Thank you so much, Jules! Have a good day!
This was great! I loved that this was short and doable and having the wall plank option was great! I have a hard time with the floor exercises, so this was just right for me! See you tomorrow!
Thank you - this is an amazing course for me - I really wanted to start doing weights - tried a gym - but this style of doing in my home is soooooooooooo much better. Perfect amount of time, clear directions, clock in the corner...... perfection.
🙋November 09 - Day 1 Another amazing series to add to your phenomenal and diverse catalog. I am a huge fan of your cardio videos (especially dancing!) and All-In-One workouts. Super happy to see that there's a dedicated program towards Strength Training 💖 I will be adding this to my daily workout routine!
Excited to have finished Day 1!😊👍 Suffered from the worst back spasms I’ve ever had last month. I’m determined to slowly and gently get into better shape!
Congrats for finishing! If you have past injuries, take your time with these workouts and use light weights for a few weeks before starting to lift more.
I just turned 50 and my doctor recommended I do some strength training and I needed something simple for beginners to be safe and you delivered! I’m excited to do this 25 day program. It’s easy to follow and adjust as needed and the pace is slow to be sure I do the right form. Thank you! -Tracey R, western MA
I’ve been procrastinating with weights. I’m too embarrassed at the gym and just didn’t know how to Do this. I found you today and was able to do all of the video. Thank you for what you do
I'm so glad to have you here and working towards getting stronger. Just to help you navigate my workouts, I place all of the workouts into the playlists under gentle, beginner or intermediate workouts. For the strength workouts, I have also created 6 different levels of calendars so people know how to progress as workouts become easy. You can find them on my website at www.improvedhealthforseniors.com. I look forward to reading about your progress (if you wish to share it!).
Jules , I am so excited about this series!! I have struggled with strength and although I'm much stronger than I was, I have a way to go. So I really appreciate a series that is dedicated to strength. So far it's just what I've been wanting. Thanks so much!
Thank you. I have been into fitness and worked in fitness my entire adult life, however, I have a progressive immune system disease. I have exercise intolerance so I am doing these every other day. Thank you for this.
Thank you and welcome to my channel! Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. If you enjoyed this one, you can find plenty more at this same level under the 'gentle level' playlists. I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
Wow Jules! I did the plank…on the floor. My arms were trembling about half way through, but I pressed on and made it! Onward and upward! Now I really need to do balance. It just isn’t getting any better…yet. Although I’m somewhat better at repeaters. On one of your new videos, you have us going front side back, front side back etc. all the while moving our arms. I can’t even Look to see what you’re doing with your arms! I think next time I’ll just watch your arms. Eventually I’ll get them all working together. It’ll be a challenge, but I seem to like challenges. Thank you Jules!
Woohoo!!! Congrats on the floor plank, Louise! I absolutely LOVE how you enjoy a challenge. Working on balance is definitely a good thing to do...maybe just add a few balance exercises on after you do a workout with me (even just for 30 sec each side x 2 or 3 sets). As for the coordination in some movements, my suggestion is to just focus on the legs. As you improve, you can add the arms in.
Thank you so much! Just started this program and LOVE IT! I love that these strength workouts are only 10-15 min so I can easily fit them into my busy life! Thank you so much for the great content!
I love that you are committed to getting stronger.
Рік тому+1
You can read my mind, dear Jules. I was just planning to get myself stronger in six weeks time (we are going to go to ski for a few days and that is something I have not done for 8 years due to knee problems). The exercises are great and I could follow you easy-peasy. Thanks million time.
I'm encouraged by all the comments about knee strengthening ending pain and am looking forward to this program since I fell away from exercise for several months partly because of knee pain about 6 weeks into the Interval series. My goals are to get back to hiking and to be fit for a trip to Iceland late summer. You seem to have programs for every need, and I remain impressed by the quality. MANY THANKS!
Thank you so much, Debby. Have you tried the video I created with my dad for strengthening the legs? He has been pain-free for years now due to the exercises.
@@ImprovedHealth Yes, but I was hoping this program would work as well. My daily plan is to do your 20-min gentle walk, then the next in the strength sequence, then the 12-min stretch.
Day 1 ✅ thank you so much for this strength program Jules....very timely indeed... thoroughly enjoyed this session...so looking forward to the coming weeks and gradually increasing weights...💪🎃
Yay! I’m so glad that you are looking forward to the next few weeks of strength training. And I love that you are already talking about gradually increasing the weights:)
Aww, thank you SO much for taking the time to write your comment. Super meaningful. Thank you!!! I create gentle, beginner and intermediate workouts. If you go to my playlists, you'll find the workouts categorized there so you can find the ones that suit your fitness level best. If you need help finding anything, just let me know:)
Did this last nightnd it was great. Even managed the plank. Was surprised that I had not lost the strength I had gained over the Summer. Glad to be back at it. Now for day 2
To be honest if you could turn the music down it would be nice. Your calmness and teaching skills is very inviting. I appreciate how tou verbally say and do. The music causes me to mot hear you as well.😢
Thank you for your feedback. I always find it challenging to know how loud to have the music in the talking videos. Unfortunately, once the video is uploaded on YT, I can't edit the volume (otherwise I would do that for you!).
I’ve been wanting to start on a strength training exercise for a long time and stumbled on your video which was perfect! Day 1 for beginners! Love the short day 1 session, easy and encouraging! I’m 65, in relatively good health and I want to keep it that way moving forward! I look forward to Day 2 tomorrow!
Welcome to my channel and thank you for letting me know that you're new here. Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) and categorize them all into the playlists. All the strength workouts are separated into playlists as well. You can also find workout calendars for the strength workouts on my website if you're interested (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com). Just head to the tab that says 'workout calendars'.
Really enjoyed this upper body exercise session. Cardio is great, but need this too. I love your sessions where you are talking…it’s like I’m really in your exercise class. Will do day 2 tomorrow. Thanks for the variety of exercise sessions you have posted. Winter is coming fast and I will be able to do lots of classes in my home. Thanks Jules❤❤
OooooooLa!! That slow, negative resistance is wonderful for strengthening. It sure enhances the movement. Nothing looks better than toned muscles 😊 I did the first of the five day series yesterday before switching to this. I still feel my hip and leg muscles [a little sore] and it feels so good!! Thank you!
I am thrilled to read that, Laura. You can absolutely get stronger. Just do your best and come back as often as you can manage, even if it's for a short workout.
Hey there! My sister sent me your link and I'm excited to get started. I began with your 70s music video and will def take your strength challenge! Thanks so much!🌺
Welcome to my channel, Barbara! Please thank your sister for me!!! I'm very glad to read that you are starting the strength series and have already tried some of the cardio:)
I am so glad I found your channel! I'm looking forward to continuing with daily strength training using your videos as my guide. I didn't have the weights today, so I used a couple of canned food items weighing approx 1 and 1/2 pounds. I will get the weights as soon as possible. Your workouts including the dance exercises are an inspiration. I always feel an uplift in mood after doing them. Thanks again!
It’s great to read your comment…I’m so glad that you are enjoying the cardio and strength workouts. Kudos to you to starting the strength program. I look forward to hearing about your progress as you continue:)
Thank you so much,Jules for this easy to follow strength training.I am in my sixty's.The background music helped me enjoy the whole process. Will definitely follow this channel regularly from now on.More power to you!
This is a great re-boot after a shoulder injury! I used super light weights to begin (1 lb/3lbs) and will slowly work my way up in the coming days.Thank you for this!
I'm so glad to read that you're starting with light weights and doing what you can to gain back strength. I broke my collar bone over 15 years ago and it took a long time to be able to do shoulder exercises again, but with patience, I was able to build strength again.
Hi Jules. I have been out of the country on holiday for the past three weeks. I did a few of this series while away but I’m starting at the beginning- with weights! I used 3# weights today, but I felt the muscles working and I like planks!!. I’m grateful for this series as I have fallen and I’m small boned- two strikes against me. Love strength training with you,
Welcome back, Doni! I hope you had a great time away. Always nice to travel but always great to come home, too. I'm so glad to read that you're looking forward to these strength workouts. I look forward to hearing about your progress as you get through the weeks. Ideally, just do one strength workout a day. Don't feel you need to catch up as that will happen over time. You can add cardio and flexibility workouts before or after as well if you have the energy and time.
Great day one for August! I’m excited to try to do as much of this month as I can. I’m on vacation next week and will be doing a lot of hiking so I don’t know if I will get those days done but at least I’ll still be exercising. 😊💪🏼
I love that you have a plan for following along with the workouts this month. The strength workouts will be a nice compliment before or after a good hike each day. My suggestion is to do the strength workouts in the morning so that way they get done (that's if you'll have weights with you). Otherwise, the workouts will still be here when you return:) You can always throw in some push-ups, planks and squats into your day if you don't have weights with you. Have a wonderful time away and enjoy the hikes!
Thank you. Great workout. I did the 5 minute warmup and I will do the strength training every day. I really like all of the workouts on your channel. ❤
I started to do the 5-day strength workout but wanted to build up to heavier weights. I really like this workout and had started it a while ago and came back to it today. I'll be able to increase my weights over the month. Thanks so much. Your workouts are great, and I feel no need to join a gym. I have lots of equipment here at home -- free weights, large ball, stretch bands -- just needed someone to work out with and the discipline to do it daily. Also no need for a treadmill!
I completed day 1 today. I'm so excited to see what a month of strength training can do. I am definitely in need of it. Thank you so much for offering this series. I almost had a heart attack when I first saw your heavy weights. I had to paused the video to convert the pounds to kilograms... Well, I started with 1.5 kg today and maybe I can order some heavier weights in the second part of your 25 day program. I am thinking positive.
I think you will notice improvement quickly, especially if this is your first time using weights. After you complete the first or second week, let me know what size weights you are using and I’ll help you figure out what size of weights will help you to see results more quickly.
Hi! A few friends and I just started this challenge today, February 1! We will take just Sundays off and finish March 1. Looking forward to getting stronger!
Hi Julie I’m just starting day one of strength training I could fell it working my body was shaking at the plank at the end thank you I’m so hoping I can build strength for better health thank you so much
Wow, I just answered your other comment and I am amazed to see you are doing the strength workouts, too! You are determined! Since you are just starting with exercise, listen to your body and if you feel worn down or exhausted one day, take the day to focus on a gentle workout and/or stretching. I truly hope you are proud of starting.
Thank you! Looking forward to day two!
I have enjoyed your strength training videos! Thanks so much!
This is exactly what I need! I have lost so much muscle tone over the last 18 months which is not acceptable! I am 71 and eager to get my strength back. Thank you for this! See you tomorrow!
I'm so glad to read that you're starting strength training! It won't be long before you start to notice change:)
This was an absolutely lovely session. I feel so complete this morning 🌄. Thank you so much for creating such uplifting content Jules 🌄☕🌄 See you tomorrow my lovely fitness friend 🤗❤️🤗
Aww, thanks Mala. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it.
Thank you. This is perfect for me. I just started. I have a mitochondrial disease so I do this from a chair. It’s perfect!!
I plan to work out here every day during this. I enjoy that. It's only 15 minutes and it's doable. Thank you for providing this for us.
Yay! I am thrilled to read your feedback. I know a lot of people won't do it if it's longer so my goal is to stick with 10-15 minutes each day.
Jules, Thank you, thank you for all your encouragement and knowledge. Excited to continue this 30 day build!
Thank you so much for your comment. I love that you are looking forward to the program.😄
Oh, wonderful! I'm SO glad to read that you're doing strength training, Pattie.
This straight training is exactly what I need. Perfect amount of time for day one and yes, I’m on to cardio! Thank you, Jules!😊💛
Congrats on starting with strength training!!! 💪💪💪
Thank you for these exercises! They are totally what I need for beginning my fitness journey! 🩷
Thank you for letting me know about the exercise levels! That will be very helpful! ❤
Thank you for starting this program. I'm in my mid 50s. I can easily do any of your programs but realize I need more strength training and not as much cardio as I age. I'm looking forward to your new program.
I’m excited to hear about your progress, Dara!
So glad to read that you are adding in more strength workouts.
I’m 77 & have osteoarthritis & osteoporosis. I’m going to do the 25 day exercise program so I can strengthen my muscles & bones. Thank you!
I’m so glad to read that you’re focusing on strength workouts! Congrats for working to get stronger.💪
I loved it please keep this up I was able to do this! Thank you .
Thanks Charlotte!
Jules, thanks so much for this program. I like that you are focusing on specific parts of the body, and looking forward to the upcoming videos which also address legs, core, etc. The way you teach is so supportive and calming... it's a pleasure!
Thanks so much, Laurie. I really appreciate your feedback. ❤️
Jules gracias por acompañarme y darme motivación para hacer siempre tus rutinas. Que tengas un bonito día!🤩💪🙌🇦🇷
Gracias Nora! ❤️
I look forward to reading about your progress:)
@@susanwright2554 I'll see what I can do for a series in the future:)
I will also walk with you every day💚🎉
Oh yay! I just replied to your other comment. So glad to see you made it here and starting the program:)
I'm 66 yrs young and got away from strength training for a while. Happy to find you and join your program! Thank you for creating a doable program❤
Thank you very much for your incredibly meaningful comment!
Thank you so much.please continue these exercise I'm 72...just started God bless you
Thank you and welcome to my channel! Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) in both seated and standing workouts, and categorize them all into the playlists. Just look for 'playlists' on the main page and scroll down to where you see the seated options. I also started a second channel dedicated to chair workouts and will add the link for you here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
I now upload all new seated workouts to the new channel.
Lastly, I upload all of the workouts from both channels to my website at www.improvedhealthforseniors.com
I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy more of the workouts when you try them out.
Congratulations on doing the plank! I'm glad to read that you are starting with light weights and progressing when you feel ready.
I just found this channel. I am 53 and feel betrayed by my body, and determined to get stronger. This video is very doable (thank you).

Thanks so much for sharing that with me, Alison. I’m excited to offer this program.
Just found this...gonna give it a go. Thanks Jules. 🙏❤
Excellent! I hope you enjoy it.
Hello Jules! Just started this program. I really liked the first workout. Of course it is short, but I will add training to improve cerebral circulation or for joints or walking training. Thank you so much, Jules! Have a good day!
Started today!
Congrats for starting strength training! I hope you enjoy the 25 days!
This was great! I loved that this was short and doable and having the wall plank option was great! I have a hard time with the floor exercises, so this was just right for me! See you tomorrow!
Perfect! Thanks so much for your feedback, Mary. See you tomorrow!
Day # 1. Thank you. Like short program. 78 year old female. See you tomorrow!
Excellent and congrats on starting!!! 'See' you tomorrow:)
Thank you - this is an amazing course for me - I really wanted to start doing weights - tried a gym - but this style of doing in my home is soooooooooooo much better. Perfect amount of time, clear directions, clock in the corner...... perfection.
Wow! Thank you so much for your feedback. I definitely appreciate your kind words.❤️
🙋November 09 - Day 1
Another amazing series to add to your phenomenal and diverse catalog. I am a huge fan of your cardio videos (especially dancing!) and All-In-One workouts. Super happy to see that there's a dedicated program towards Strength Training 💖 I will be adding this to my daily workout routine!
Thank you so much for your fantastic comment and feedback. I definitely appreciate it! 💖
Excited to have finished Day 1!😊👍
Suffered from the worst back spasms I’ve ever had last month.
Thank you!

Love that it is short and sweet!
I’ve been procrastinating with weights. I’m too embarrassed at the gym and just didn’t know how to
Do this. I found you today and was able to do all of the video. Thank you for what you do

Jules , I am so excited about this series!! I have struggled with strength and although I'm much stronger than I was, I have a way to go. So I really appreciate a series that is dedicated to strength.
So far it's just what I've been wanting. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much, Valerie! I look forward to hearing about your progress in the weeks ahead.

I love th strength exercises. Thanks for thinking of so many ways to help everyone. Love this!!!
Thank you so much! Just started this program and LOVE IT! I love that these strength workouts are only 10-15 min so I can easily fit them into my busy life! Thank you so much for the great content!
I know a lot of people don't want to be doing long strength workouts which is why I created this to be shorter. I'm glad these will work for you!
Thank you Jules 🙏🏼 I appreciate you and your efforts to empower seniors! This was doable!
Thanks for your great feedback, Maggie.❤️
Thanks for doing these ST short videos-5 days a week! Been needing this! I'm committed! 🤗🏋🏽♀️
I love that you are committed to getting stronger.
You can read my mind, dear Jules. I was just planning to get myself stronger in six weeks time (we are going to go to ski for a few days and that is something I have not done for 8 years due to knee problems).
The exercises are great and I could follow you easy-peasy.
Thanks million time.
Yay! Thanks for letting me know, Helga. These workouts should have your legs ready in 6 weeks time:)
I am really excited for this. Love the first one. Need something new and motivation. 😊
Yay! I love that you are excited about strength training.😄

Did this last nightnd it was great. Even managed the plank. Was surprised that I had not lost the strength I had gained over the Summer. Glad to be back at it. Now for day 2
Yay! Welcome back Marie-Therese! And yes, it's amazing how muscle memory works. Any strength you lost will come back quickly:)
Just started program…thanks!
Congrats for starting!
Good workout for 75 year old female. thank you. Looking forward to tomorrow's workout.
Congrats for starting strength training!
thank you for giving me a great start to my day excellent workout and quite on point with my time. You have a great day by the way I am in Jamaica.
Thanks for joining me from Jamaica!
Thanks so much for letting me know that you enjoy the talking videos. I appreciate that feedback and will offer more in the future.
OooooooLa!! That slow, negative resistance is wonderful for strengthening. It sure enhances the movement. Nothing looks better than toned muscles 😊
I did the first of the five day series yesterday before switching to this. I still feel my hip and leg muscles [a little sore] and it feels so good!! Thank you!
Super glad to see you're going onto this series now!
Hello, I"m 64, Your words give ne hope to improve my health, thank you so much,
I am thrilled to read that, Laura.
Just what I need! I look forward to the rest of the series, and becoming stronger as I age.
I'm so glad that you're starting to do these!
This is going to be very doable. Next I'm out for a 2 mile walk and back for round 2 tomorrow. I really appreciate your videos. Thank you so much!
Thanks Kris! Glad to hear you are getting fresh air, too.
Thanks Cora!
Thank you so much! I am so glad I found you. This with my daily routine of morning and evening yoga seems to be a good fit for me 🙂
Thanks for letting me know, Molly. I appreciate that!
NICE! Thank you
Great video!
Thanks Joan!
Thank you. Great workout. I did the 5 minute warmup and I will do the strength training every day. I really like all of the workouts on your channel. ❤
Thanks so much, Mary!
Thank you! This is perfect for what I need. You are lovely and encouraging!
Thanks so much for your kind comment.💖
I started to do the 5-day strength workout but wanted to build up to heavier weights. I really like this workout and had started it a while ago and came back to it today. I'll be able to increase my weights over the month. Thanks so much. Your workouts are great, and I feel no need to join a gym. I have lots of equipment here at home -- free weights, large ball, stretch bands -- just needed someone to work out with and the discipline to do it daily. Also no need for a treadmill!
I'm glad you found this series and I look forward to hearing about your progress as you continue. I'll be getting bands out soon so keep those handy!
Jules, this is a great strength workout, I will be back with you tomorrow.....God Bless, have a great day....Anne
Awesome. Thanks for your comment, Anne.
That's a great way to stay on track! I look forward to hearing about your progress:)
I'm starting this today!! I'm excited! And thank you for making the plank not "forever" long!
Nice to see you’re starting this, Tesser!
Love this new program. Thank you!
Yay! I’m happy to hear that.
