The reboot of the beginner series sounds exactly like what I'll be looking for this year. Found the channel in 2023, finally realized the hobby isn't as expensive to get into as I thought anymore and I'm looking forward to jumping into this hobby with both feet in 2024.
We are spending a lot of mental energy to ensure the Flite Test experience is approachable for newcomers (or folks returning to the hobby). Thanks for the kind words. DaveM
My family and I had a blast this year following along with your adventures, and having our own great times with FT planes and plans, and an epicly fun time camping at Flite Fest. I'm really looking forward to continuing all of it in 2024! Thanks for everything the FT family does for the hobby, but especially for the community that surrounds it!

I started building and flying again because flitetest.I have currently built six of your planes but I’ll make them out of 3mm coreflute now because our foamboard in Australia is too heavy🙁

I traveled from Illinois to Ohio three times and to Missouri with the Overstreet’s once. I have so many memories. But the best definitely came from FliteFest.
It was awesome participating in the Master Series F18 Blue Angel group flys. Not just flying with friends, but sharing my F18 with other pilots, both experienced and new. The F18 was out of stock for a long time after FliteFest. And I’d like to think I had a little something to do with that. Everyone I let fly it was blown away and said they were going to build one.
I think I’m only going to Ohio once, for FliteFest, this year. I’ll be making it a week long. And I’m really hoping to see lots more Blue Angels in the air with me this year.

Been here since 2014 and i love that you guys are still going strong! I hope 2024 will be a great year and maybe bring some new cool planes! I’d love to see some older planes like the Sea Angel return!

I loved every minute of FF 2019. 2021 was okay, but it needs to move back to July. I can’t stop teaching when school goes to the end of June. I made it down for one day in 2022 and couldn’t go at all in 2023!!!!!

What a coincidence: Dave's first Oshkosh was my first as well; it was an awesome surprise to find your tent in the Fly Market. Still can't quite afford the full scale planes parked at the airport, (though I brought one of your kits back home,) so 2024 will see me revisiting r/c - I'll definitely test-fly your updated Getting Started content.

Dear Flite Test, my name is Alon Petel, I am 10 years old and I love your channel. You make amazing projects. I have an idea about the next big project for 2024. You can fix your double trouble glider and put on it the hovercraft's engines with double propellors inside. in the cockpit put the stick on the floor, rudder pedals and that's an airplane. I would love to participate in the USS Lexington event. I live close enough to drive there and an old family friend served on the Lexington in WWII. I have been active in a club in Orange, TX for just over a year.

You should make the boomin flerken an ez build plane because I’m sure many love this aircraft or you should make an ez civil pack with private jets, cessna’s, and airliners. Keep up the great work and I love your videos!
Make an oblique adjustable angle flying wing! It would be a really neat video and a great demo of a stabilizing flight controller! TBH, I commented this on both Peter Sripol's channel and the Flite Test Channel.
At 15 seconds you show a little stubby plane. Have you done an episode on that one. It's also right behind you at 19 seconds? Looks interesting 😊😊👍👍

My dad and brother are both (now retired) U.S. Naval aviators. Between them, with over 65 years flying off of ships. MY QUESTION IS THIS; I know my dad and brother both have landings on Lexington (dad was on a short list to command her at one time), I wonder how many families have multiple generations with flights ioff the same ship?

I wish I could go to flight fest… but I live in Australia 😢 but still loved all the aircraft’s and everything AWSOME gob. I make my own RC airplanes and fly them on a school oval. Getting better. ❤

"I'm No aerodynamics expert, But. my friends in the aviation and boating worlds have been really impressed with a new propeller design called a Torroidal Propeller.
The prop blades sorta loop back on themselves and then [ some aerodynamics magic happens] and the new design is insanely efficient vs. standard props.
the increased efficiency could solve several problems at once.
you might just get the changes you need by changing out propellers...again.
but without changing out needing any other changes to the craft.
Keep in mind that I'm No aerodynamics expert,

A few of us are getting into eVTOLS. Is that what you mean? Rotating nacelles and a tri-copter setup converting to a fixed wing, twin motor. DaveM

Why does my Fpv camera get so hot
This is normal. It's likely not the camera but the Video Transmitter or VTX. As it's a little transmitter putting out a fair amount of power, they all get hot. So much so, that if you leave a FPV aircraft on the ground and plugged in, it will thermal off the VTX.
