Its absolutely vile that Valve has consistently put in more man-power into countering legit players wanting consistent enjoyable gameplay, doubling down on subtick and making sure it's shoved down our throats against our will- Rather than putting *any* man-power into countering the infestation of cheaters that's more problematic than *any* period in CS:GO's history.
try to compare older cs go version (they could be found easily on the internet) with latest cs go version, and you'll se dramatic decrease of the performance. Cs go had a TERRIBLE optimization since like 2020, but since the game is already too old by that point, that every player with somewhat decent specs could run cs easily with 300+fps. That's not the optimization, cs go code was kinda horrible mess, and that's the main reason they decided to launch a new game on source 2. I'm not gatekeeping the cs2. This game is a mess, but the statement that sounds something like "csgo had a good optimization" is just wrong.
What will it take for Valve to realize that subtick sucks and just isnt what they wanted it to be. it doesnt work, it litterly ruins the game and no one wouldve complained ab 128tick. Valve legit just tryna be quirky by doing some stupid shit no one asked for and its pissing me off.
I dont even understand why subtick exist in the first place. As i remember. Old csgo have bad bullet reg just because of their 64 tick server. And new 64 subtick server make it even worst
Supposedly it's more costly to run 128 tick servers and considering the amount of playerbase they have, it's not unreasonable. Subtick exist to be somewhat an upgrade for 64 tick while keeping the cost of servers relatively the same or lower than 128 tick servers. Honestly, Valve has always been innovating all sorts of techniques in their lifetime and this is one of the opportunity to experiment with it. They'll hopefully manage to find the best consistency in the future but for now, competitive gameplay should be played on Faceit and LANs.

this is genuinely what made me quit cs for a LONG time, i cannot constantly do any of the movement i had done for years up to this point and the fact that theyre making movement seem like cheating by all around removing doubletap binds and going harder and harder on subtick (a really stupid server system, btw) the more theyre ruining a game i love and am passionate about. its so frustrating that knowing how valve works i have a pretty good hunch that itll just get worse.
As a snap tap user i still use it to this day and honestly it rarely kicks me from premier matches, it will kick me once every 3 or so matches, i get kicked and rejoin right after, ive never been kicked twice from a premier match. Tbh with yall im just too lazy to disable it each time i want to play cs2 i use it for other games by default but i need to go to a website and change it there each time id like to disable it.

What I think will happen is that Valve will de-subtick everything except shooting by default, so subtick just takes less work to finish processing. Its use case is really nothing more than assessing who shot first in a tick. Why do I think that? The latest patch. Engine loopback mode is back in the game, so now, Valve actually has an idea about how the game should feel vs how the game actually feels. ...ooor they were already testing the game on engine loopback mode all this time and didn't know about the whole swath of networking issues. On second thought, maybe not.

i think we can all agree that cs2 is awfull, in all the aspects, but it is not late to counter strike, we can save it, the cs community has to do something similar to what the tf2 community did, (the 340.000 signatures book) if we can all agree to do somethung like that and send a strong message to valve, maybe counter strike can be better than ever, I dont have the influence to make the entire community of cs agree and make them send a message, and you neither, but maybe you can upload videos, talk to other youtubers, influence a little bit, etc, to make that happen.
