  • A look at a Poulan Pro BVM200FE handheld blower that won't start. There are many reasons why this might happen but I'll show you how easy this one was to diagnose and how to fix it.

As usual, a ton of information. I think it helps for people to hear what a true mechanic does.

Thanks for the info. Doing just that right now myself. I ordered the carb kit with plugs, and 2 fuel lines, air and fuel filter with extra prime bubble with 2 gaskets for less then $23 bucks. Runs like new again!

Did you not check the screen on the fuel pump side? Usually that fills up with dirt when fuel lines break and filters fall off. Great video as always!

Ya I kinda gambled there. I was trying to save time and got lucky. When the lines breaks high on the tank I figure it never ran after so maybe no dirt ingestion? Thanks for watching!

Awesome video, mine won't stay running once I pull the trigger to release the choke...any ideas I might look at? I've cleaned and checked all the items you did here, new fuel lines, etc

Maybe its as simple as a carb adjustment? Look in the cylinder and make sure its not scored.

Did the fuel filter go on the thinner inside line? Also how long should you leave the return line

The line closest to the primer bulb is the return line and it just needs to pass into the tank far enough that it won't get pulled out if bumped. An inch is fine.

Question. I can start my when it is cold maybe 3 or 4 pulls to get it running but if i turn it off and let it sit for maybe 5 mins or so it won't start again. No matter how much i pull on it and if i put it back on start or run. Any idea what could do to fix this

The first thing to do is look into the cylinder for scoring. A scored cylinder can cause the ring to pinch when hot on lose compression.

You covered everything but something is still wrong. It could be anything.

@@eugenemoseriv8347 Some examples include: fuel lines installed incorrectly, bad ignition coil/sheared flywheel key, air leak in engine, plugged muffler/spark arrestor. You said rebuilt engine so maybe piston installed backwards.

Fuel lines are new and installed correctly, new ignition coil, key not sheared, my muffler doesn't have the cover to take off spark arrester to clean or change out the screen it's all one piece (I did shot carburetor cleaner through it good, and the piston you mentioned caught me by surprise. That seemed to be easy to me, only one way to put this on the shaft.

@@eugenemoseriv8347 Did you pressure/vaccuum test the engine? Maybe you've got a big air leak.
