I don't know why I love 'em so much but that ole Falcon red made for one helluva uniform....In my humble opinion. There's no other red quite like the one Atlanta used to sport "back in the day".
I said it before, those are the Falcons' best ever uniforms! They won their first playoff game and division title with them. Also, they need to distance themselves from the "28-3" look as much as they can!
They got the music right for the Billy White Shoes Johnson touchdown. Even though I haven't seen this video in 40 years I still remember the drum beats. And those red Falcon uniforms with large sleeves this is why I went back and collected all my '80s football sets you can take today's NFL this is where my heart is. Today's NFL would have Billy's knee down at the 2 yard line. Blahhh!
I was at the 49ers vs Falcon game and the ball broke the plink of the end zone because Johnson knee didn’t go down until the ball broke the plink. I played for a little league team and we won the state championship game and we were invited to attend the game on the sidelines with the Falcons. I got to meet a lot of players including Johnson, Lott, Montana etc. I didn’t even know Bill Walsh attended our championship game and he told me to keep my head up when I tackle instead of down so I wouldn’t get injured. I teach that to my high school kids today
Scary hit on Renaldo Nehemiah (83), who was an Olympic hurdler. He was out cold. Fortunately, he came back and played the following week in the Bears game.

He probably would have been ruled down at the one inch line. That play was just another one of the great plays in the 1983 Season. That's the major downside to replay, sort of takes the human element out of the game. I like teams getting 2 challenges but reviewing all scores, turnovers, and last 2 minutes is overkill.
I'm so addicted to these
Watching these I feel like I'm 8 years old again. At that age I was fully addicted to football! 40 years later and nothing has changed .
These videos bring back so many great memories from my childhood. Thank you!

It looked great in the early 80s. But by the late 80s, that Falcons red seemed outdated.
I'm guessing that color scheme was fashioned after the Georgia Bulldogs.
You mean you don't like the 25 uniform combinations teams have now? How about the all black variations? Argh enough already!
I said it before, those are the Falcons' best ever uniforms! They won their first playoff game and division title with them. Also, they need to distance themselves from the "28-3" look as much as they can!
By the late 80s they barely wore the red jerseys (did not switch back to black until 1990)
