Great video 😀 I have had mine for a couple of years, and I also prefer to use it dry, or only with water in the shower. You can basicly detail all your facial hair and the hair in the front and back of your neck. You know its time to replace the blade when the color starts to fade on the blade, or when it starts grap the beard. My blades last about 3-4 months. I live in Denmark where the machine or 3 blade sold seperatly is about 29 US Dollars. For my hair or bodyhair I use the philips hc5630 which is also fantastic to use. Thanks again
I have a goatee and issues with ear hair. I am currently using a Wahl trimmer. I like how you can detail with this. Dave you are always making great videos and making me rethink my routine!
I found it much more comfortable to use with some soap lather on. Using dry, I found ithe leading edge tended to grab the skin too much. Unlike a blade, the shaver leaves some lather on your face till you have finished. It's the first electric shaver I have used that actually works as a razor and cuts the hairs cleanly.
Thanks for sharing. Maybe I will give shaving cream another shot. I know the first time it just skipped all over my face, which wasn't what I was looking for.
I used to use a small Wahl trimmer for preshaving back in the day but since I got back into DE shaving I don't go beyond about 4 days of growth. I enjoy shaving too much now days to let myself grow out any length of time. Thanks for the video.
I fell deep into the wet shaving "hobby" and spent a ridiculous amount of money. After several years, my quality of shave improved slightly but I still got ingrowns, it was taking 20+ minutes to shave, and I had to use a bunch of different products. Once I started using the Philips Norelco oneblade 360 I cleared out pretty much all of my den. The only safety razor I kept has sentimental value and rarely gets used. The best part about the oneblade is if I have extra time and want to improve the overall vibe I can still use brush and soap with it.
I had one some time back, but I was having a hard time finding replacement blades. So I gave it to my son. I did like it. Great for a pre-shave trim, and even a quick shave. Can use it wet or dry. I did not use Cremo back then, so I am curious if it would be even better with that.
Looked at that a few months back but the blade replacement frequency and cost is insane to me. I just use ordinary hair clippers that seem to last forever. Only changed a blade once in 20 years because I dropped it
I definitely hear ya on the blade cost. This is not a every day tool for me. I personally use my Andis T outliners for trimming and occasionally shaving my head. The 0000000 blade gap is skin tight almost like a three day shave. The cost is $80 but as well worth it in the long run. The price point on this one blade is spot on in my opinion. I picked mine up at target for $34. Amazon is selling them for 2999.
I actually enjoy taking down beards with a DE safety razor. I took down three months of growth with no problem at all using my Rex Ambassador on setting 6. It cut through my beard with no problem at all, hot knife through butter. There is something really satisfying about it. Oneblade looks like a great precision electric trimmer though.
I always tend to get skin irritation when I cut down over 10 days of growth. If it's not a few nicks on my neck it's definitely razor burn. This little $30 shaver really has my attention not just for knocking down beard growth. This thing removes body hair quickly, and it even can come with attachments, which I haven't tried yet
Before I really got into traditional wet shaving, this was my default shaver. I've always done wet shaves with it (with shaving cream and a brush, just the way I would normally do with a safety razor). I use lather because I don't want to make a mess (with the oneblade hairs really are flying EVERYWHERE :D). I have not had any issues with it gliding with lather on. It's not a close shave, yes, but it's not meant to be. You sacrifice a little bit of closeness for an absolute lack of irritation, cuts and redness, having a good shave every single time. I still use it, even tho my razor of choice is a DE now. One thing I don't really like about the OneBlade nowadays are the 360 blades. They are twice as expensive as the old ones and I don't see the benefit of that 360 system. Good thing I bought a few of the old ones when they were still available everywhere.
@@OhioShaves Specifically, I was talking about blade replacements. On the Philips website it is 2 for $24 for the old ones and 3 for $27 (on sale) for the 360s. Seems to me the new ones are the best choice now.
@@OhioShaves Thank you for your input. I just used my Andis foil shaver to shave my beard and my head. My skin is very sensitive (esp under the lips and chin area). I think it's time to invest some lubricants for it.
One barber did a review of the favorably reviewed BabyLiss Pro foil shaver, but (for multi-day growth) suggested to use a trimmer beforehand for best results. The Philips OneBlade has received many positive reviews, but a comparative review for the Braun 'Series 3' All-In-One trimmer kit seemed more efficient, comparably priced, plus did not have a recurring need to purchase replacement heads. Might be worth considering.
Trimmer looks great and at a great price. I have the same problem you do when cutting down alot of growth with a razor i most the time will cut myself pretty good. Seems like a no brainer to me.
It was perfect until I needed a clean shave everyday. I’ll still use it from time to time to clean up some spots on my neck if it gets irritated though.
If you're going to use an electric machine to reduce the amount of hair before shaving, why not a 10$ hair trimmer? They are faster, cheaper, more comfortable and they don't need to change blades. I like any Philips with "DualCut" Overall, just a better all around, f the goal is not a close shave. You'll achieve that with razor later anyway.
@@OhioShaves Never thought you'd reply. I love your videos. I just bought a Rockwell 6c because you recommend it so much. Give me a little break, English is not my first language. I can't properly distinguish hair trimmer from hair clipper or other names that might exist for similar machines. You do you, I like hair trimmers designed for head hair. I bought a Philips series 3000 hairclipper (maybe for 8 years ago) for ~12€. Me and my 2 brothers use it, pretty much every week for the beard and for a while we shaved or heads too, it still cuts great and I'm pretty sure it hasn't needed to be oiled ever. It's easier on the skin, doesn't tug at all, and much faster. I liked Philips so much I decided to buy a OneBlade a few years later. I really liked it. The shave was closer and more consistent but takes longer to shave with and the blades go dull pretty fast. Dull enough that I can shave with them but that removing 5+ days of growth becomes a war because it tugs a bunch. My point was just that, if you are wet shaving after, there are better tools for the job. P.S.: I just realized that the philips I mentioned is like 30-40$ now but I own other hair trimmers from nameless brands, even cheaper, and those work better than the OneBlade too for this specific job.
I’ve had mine for several years. I love it.
I am floored on how well this electric Razor performs

Head and face shave for me today also bro! Good shave!!
Thank you much
And for an even better shave: use Menem Lectric Preshave......(or another electric pre shave). Good stuff
That's a great tip! I've never tried using a pre-shave oil for an electric razor.

I mean, the whole point of the oneblade is that it can kind of takedown long growth and can kind of shave close. Too bad it doesn't excel at either.
This is the #1 selling trimmer
