To the youngsters that think they were born in the wrong time for music and wish they were around in the 70’s era, I felt the same once, but now I’m glad I’m in this time of great bands like Gojira even as I approach my 40’s
I was born in 89 I always said the same growing up I was born to late because as a kid I was a raver so missed the best of that era lol but then as I got into rock music again I said the same because it was bands like black Sabbath and the who I liked, now though I found gojira never has any musician/band had such a effect on me what they stand for how they deliver their message everything about them just resonates with me thats why im glad to be exoeriencing them first hand, funny thing is outside of gojira I'm not really into the heavier stuff lol
Don't get me wrong I love some of the music out right now . But seventies & the 90s still have the greatest music ever but there's a few bands out there that are absolutely amazing like gojira tool red Fang Tomahawk Sumac Russian circles Pelican Zombi, Mr. Bungle Havoc & the Deftones. Just to name a few. And I am very grateful.
I'm 53 and discovering GOJIRA a few years back was a breath of fresh air.

You know when you hear a song for the first time and it’s going to be part of you forever. This is one of those songs.
I feel like this whole album build-up will be a part of me forever... just getting into a band and feeling that passion again (I only got into them a couple years ago). I haven't been this excited for an album or into a band since Slipknot, Iowa back in 2002... where I actually waited until 12am to buy the CD :) Gojira have reignited something in me I thought I had lost.

I've been on Gojira since they dropped The Link.
These guys, especially Mario, have just gotten better and better and better with each new project. They can make all the choruses, clean singing, and cat noises they want. They've earned the right and I'm down for all of it.
There's a reason Gojira is your favorite band's favorite band...they're going to be on top of the world before too long. They're breaking through like Mastodon did except Gojira hasn't lost their core sound.
Give them their roses now. Seriously.

Been with them since Terra Incognita when I had just recently discovered metal at all and I've only grown more in love with them over the years. I listen to so much different music it's almost stupid, but Gojira has stayed and will remain my favorite band by far. They have that "it" factor that only rarely comes along

Just wow. Its like after Magma they took some of their heavier material that preceded it then incorporated a blend of the sound off of Magma. Sounds insane!

Yeah that at least sounded like classic Gojira. So does the riff at 3:00 which I know is a kickass variation of the riff that happens earlier in the song but the version that happens first feels kinda too similar to a riff/melodic phrase they've already written but I can't put my finger on which riff or song it is.

I just have no words honestly, I really love this album, I was really hyped for it ever since another world dropped, the wait was worth it, I don't care what anyone says, this shit has got to be among my favorites if not my favorite album, it's a good mix of the old and a sprinkle of something new.

People expect them to be the old Gojira like space time, lizard skin, THMOTU. But comon, every band has to change. But, they did change in a good way.
Only bad thing I can say is, I’ve seen them live once. And they were horrible. At knotfest 2019

I think Only Pain from Magma is their best song since like 2009 way of all flesh. Like. Only pain is a 9/10 and everything else on magma, fortitude, and even l’enfant Sauvage everything on those albums is a 5/10

Easily the best song on the album and an instant classic. I was worried about the album because the singles were a bit generic but overall it's very well done and has its own character.

Tbh I like all the newer sounding songs than the throwbacks. I want a full album of this anthemic, motivating metal from Gojira. Not that Sphinx or Grind are bad, they're stellar! But you can tell the new direction they want to take is held back by the expectations of fans wanting more of the old.

The whole album could just be the outro riff(4:37-6:36). Honestly, I think its one of the most groovy metal sequences I've ever heard in my life. Drumming is so complemetary to guitars and tribal screams!

I was going to say, they're sounding like Opeth fans. It's a common phenomenon amongst these prog metal bands: because they're progressive, they're always experimenting, adding, moving their sound forward. But because it's metal, lots of typical non-prog metal fans get annoyed when their favorite band changes a little. They have impossibly high standards because they expect something *heavier*, and don't care for anything else.

I love the chord progression of the 'chorus' part and outro part . great for running on treadmill in vast imaginary mountain/desert/plain places.
