However I never realized and all the times I've seen that movie since that they live is scribbled in graffiti throughout the movie. Gives me another reason to go watch it again. Thank you
I feel The Truman Show is ultimately about the relationship between God and Man/Father and Son, while also discussing the importance of freedom and free will while rejecting a safe and comfortable, but ultimately unfree life. Its much more a commentary on modern life as it pertains to our modern government gaining greater athority so we can feel safer and live easier lives while slowly removing our personal freedoms for this protection.
Judson Joist you are confusing symbolism with the literal. God isn't an "imposter" in the Truman show, what he is saying is that Cristoff is a symbol of god. He's not saying that anyone was meant to believe that he was literally god.

The rapid projection of sequential video images from an electronic display induces a trance-like state in the engrossed viewer during which deeper parts of the mind become more susceptible to suggestion. The Truman Show/Groundhog Day Both feature protagonists in existential crisis who realize their worlds are not what they thought. Phil Connors is forced into his own surreal life, while Truman Burbank is forced out of his. Both films ask us to question our own realities. Are we like Phil and Truman, doomed to repeat the same day over and over again? Phil is ultimately freed when he makes the most of his prison, improving the lives of everyone else in town. Truman escapes his prison when he decides he isn't going to play by society's rules anymore.

I've always had this /kinda/ Passion project about making a They Live sequal, but having it be more about seeing what we want to see in media. How even with the glasses some people don't see the aliens and the messages because they have bassically mentally blocked themselves from it. They choose not to see it. Or maybe someone else see's something, but it's totally different. The message will say "you should buy stuff" but what he sees is "you should die dude" and then he goes home and kills himself. Sometimes people don't see the intended message. Just the one they want.
Dalton Bedore not really. The matrix is literally just the heros story. The lego movie is actually more groundbreaking because it subverts that. It makes you think that Emmett really is the chosen one but he really isnt.
Brazil... Saw it in the late 80's and it actually resonates more today IMO. Turns-out it was as prophetic and poignant as it is entertaining and thought provoking.
I'd love for you to do a John Carpenter episode. He's such a great director. Many of his films have received cult like status now, but weren't huge box office successes or that well received when they came out.
My friend introduced me to They Live last week. I was speechless. Can't believe it was made in 80s and based on a story from the 60s. It's still relevant today, minus the aliens, unless you believe in those human/alien hybrid conspiracies.
I feel like Truman show and Matrix are more alike, but this is also a good comparison filled with stuff ive never noticed before. I love when this happens with movies ive seen countless times.
They live is real. Over half the population are aliens. Ever wonder why people talk to you different if you know your not alien. I figured this out years ago, we're living among aliens. We just need those glasses to see them.🥴😂
Fun fact, back in the early 50's movie companies tested subliminal imagery in a few select films that increased concession sales by 96% for the films that had it compared to those that didn't. Congress stepped in and put a stop to it.
Arrival and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are both about the inevitability of pain. They are completely different movies yet they have the same message.
Omg I just watched They Live for the first time yesterday. That's clearly what they were warning us about. How else would you know that you had to post this video the day after, right? As that teacher from The Incredibles once said: Coincidence? I think not.

Truman show is the scariest movie of all time 🔮
The "Watch Cinefix" insert warranted a like from me. good job guys!
This was something to think about, I appreciate the way you compared the two films. Thanks
I find The Truman Show to be more of an allegory of the story of Adam in the garden of Eden where Ed Harris is God and Truman is Adam.
learning the truth about good and evil...
The Truman Show is my favourite movie, I was glad to find a new perspective on it I hadnt considered
Brazil... Saw it in the late 80's and it actually resonates more today IMO. Turns-out it was as prophetic and poignant as it is entertaining and thought provoking.
Hahahahahaha i caught that subliminal message Cinefix!!! 2:40
Two of my favorite movies. RIP Mr. Piper.
I like the subtle addition to signs with "watch cinefix"... Well played, aliens, well played.
I'd love for you to do a John Carpenter episode. He's such a great director. Many of his films have received cult like status now, but weren't huge box office successes or that well received when they came out.
Five words. Big Trouble in Little China 😁
"Watch Cinefix" in the They Live subliminals.
Well played.
Excellent video!! I see it so clearly!!👀💯💪🏾
I did get some Truman vibes
I love the end of they live when the girl realizes that she is doing an alien
these movies being only 10 years apart blew my mind more than anything else
Great concept, love it. Excited to see more of these....
My friend introduced me to They Live last week. I was speechless. Can't believe it was made in 80s and based on a story from the 60s. It's still relevant today, minus the aliens, unless you believe in those human/alien hybrid conspiracies.
Two of my absolute favourites! Looking forward to this new series.
Invasion of the body snatchers should of been mentioned somewhere in here.
Bingo
I feel like Truman show and Matrix are more alike, but this is also a good comparison filled with stuff ive never noticed before. I love when this happens with movies ive seen countless times.
They live is real. Over half the population are aliens. Ever wonder why people talk to you different if you know your not alien. I figured this out years ago, we're living among aliens. We just need those glasses to see them.🥴😂
I love this channel so much
Now I feel like watching They Live. Hey, wait a minute...
This is an excellent video. Thank you for this.
I'm just restraining myself to go into a rant but it will all add up to both those movies rock 🤣
Fun fact, back in the early 50's movie companies tested subliminal imagery in a few select films that increased concession sales by 96% for the films that had it compared to those that didn't. Congress stepped in and put a stop to it.
2:39 ALL HAIL CINEFIX
They are accurate descriptions of our world, human experience, and popular culture!
Love them.
Both are akin to Snowpiercer, and Holy Mountain.
2:38 I have a sudden urge to watch cinefix.
Add The Matrix, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Prisoner T.V. series to that mix.
Strange. I suddenly feel the urge to watch and like every single CineFix video.
Nice addition of your own subliminal messages in "They Live"
need a episode on movies that are watched for their commentary tracks...Big Trouble in Little China has an awesome commentary and so much fun to hear
Nice addition of "Watch Cinefix." I'll obey that.
Very good video and fan lore, good job
Mindblowing, love this channel
...not ONLY THAT, but BOTH John Nada and Truman Burbank have NOSES on their FACES!!!!!! 😱
The Matrix, at it's most basic level, is basically about the same thing as well--- it's about the powers that be enslaving us with illusions
So what happens when u die???
@garyvision
1:12 I see what you did there, buddy.
Edit: And 2:37.
No one else noticed 1:12. Great job.
What's the one at 1:12? I can't find it lol
The small white printed, more like sprayed, lower right side of the wall.
Ziyad Khalil Ahh, thanks! Wow, that one's small, how do you even notice that? Respect.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and watch UA-cam videos.......and I'm all out of bubblegum.
"NUFF SAID"
Arrival and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are both about the inevitability of pain. They are completely different movies yet they have the same message.
something about this video is making me want to watch more cinefix videos
UA-cam has become the Truman show. Everyone showing everyone their lives and promoting sponsors.
Love this new segment!
i thought you were gonna pull a "24 reasons these movies are the same" shtick. good job, you guys.
They Live vs. My Dinner with Andre - I watched those movies on the same day and was surprised how similar their themes were.
Omg I just watched They Live for the first time yesterday. That's clearly what they were warning us about. How else would you know that you had to post this video the day after, right? As that teacher from The Incredibles once said: Coincidence? I think not.
The Truman Show = Instagram
They Live = 4chan
