    In my area of Michigan, my garage was so damp and condensation dripping off my oil pan, etc etc. I pulled the drain plug and all kinds of water poured out from it. Put a heater under it to dry things up a bit. It finally got warmer a month ago so put a new fresh oil and filter on it. Not a head gaskete leak, just condensation big time. Did a bunch of other things to my 460 BBF in a 67 Mustang Gt Coupe. Re-gasket and clean and painted Performer rpm manifold, plugged heat crossovers. Small china wall leak but a re-torgue on manifold took care of that. Thanks for sharing this 460 video. Good Stuff. Happy Victoria day to beautiful Canada and it's beautiful people. Love and blessings from Motown/Dearborn.

      Thank you very much for your comment. Anything I can do to help. You should also check out the second video where I tear down the short block and find a few problems.

    Made it look really easy pretty interesting what you found inside propane is pretty easy on the vehicle it looks like I cleaned up the one I had and I had to replace the timing chain cover cuz it was rotted through from the previous person just adding water all the time and the freeze plugs need to replace but after that it ran like brand new again

    Imagine doing 42 of these engines every day after turbos and outside engine parts and tearing apart everything else after that so basically work is always ready for us lol

      Nice, GAS were my fathers Initials and he always thought it was cool how it spelled gas so he named his mechanic shop after that

      Sorry to hear mate, head gaskets aren't the end of the world, or you might look into it further and see if it just needs a rebuild, then your into it.

    Considering that these are cast iron cilinder heads, is it still possible to remove the broken exhaust header bolts by welding a nut on them? If not, how would you take them out?

    • @gasautomotive
      @gasautomotive  Рік тому +1

      As a professional welder that is exactly what I would do to get the broken stud out as well 👍

      @@gasautomotive Thanks a lot for your response! I always thought that the weld method couldn't work with cast iron as it's always demonstrated or alu heads, but I'm glad it is still possible.

    Really? All that and your going to cheap out on rings and a hone? Rod bearings? Not even going to look at them? By the looks of that timing chain it's not low mileage.

      If it had actual little wear it would be worth it for new rings and bearings, but with this kind of wear and all the other problems I found in the shortblock it's just a core for rebuild now
