They use the cell phone network. Just get a push to talk (PTT) app for your phone. Its the same thing.

Not once did you say on any of these walkie-talkies how much they cost and how much the annual service fee is. How could you miss all that

There is none. It is a glorified Chinese ad. Why are people so gullible?

You might do some research because I see complaints that these don't work in the US and are primarily used in Switzerland.

If you are in the woods and your cell phone doesn't work thilese lte radios won't work. If the cell 3:03 grid goes down these won't work

what network do these connect to, so you can create talk groups and name the radios? I understand how the Zello one works, but what about the others?

Those are not walkie-talkies. They’re a 4G cell phone wanna be I wouldn’t want one if you were giving them all for free if I was to use that I would just use my cell phone.

As soon as you add a sim card it will no longer work if the cell towers go down

Please explain that more. I’m looking for devices that will connect me, my spouse, and my son who lives 2000 miles away from us.
If the cell towers go down, what does that mean?

I have two Wurui G1 radios that I purchased back in May I haven't used them in a month or so and now they are not working says I need to scan the codes and I do. When I take a picture of the code it doesn't do anything I do have an account online with Global PTT. Can you please help???

I wonder if in the wilderness there is a phone signal nevertheless, 4G.

Probably not. These are not good for camping, hiking, you have to be within a half mile of a cell tower or they won't work. Kinda a scam. Those rapid radios are a huge scam

These are the worst systems I've ever seen. It's true, in a perfect environment, where everything is functioning (GSM towers and so) and/or in citties it's a pretty good choice but in wilderness... Come on, let's be serious. Oh, probably you're talking about that "wilderness" where people use to hike. In my oppinion it's a waste of money but... no but. ;-)

So.....they work if there's a cell phone signal. What am I missing here? If you want to get rescued in the outback....you better have a sat-com because this thing is useless outside a Neiman Marcus parking lot-
