Brings back memories of going to these Chinese shops with my dad, around Chinese New Year growing up on the island, not much have changed and prices are way better than Johannesburg Chinatown (Cyrildene or Commissioner Street) it is about 2.5 times higher here, the roasted pork ribs are known as Sow Chu, which is basically five spice and salt rubbed pork, a Hakka cuisine classic, the "pink" pork are Chasive or honey pork or char Siu and the Chinese sausage are Lap Cheong another Hakka chinese classic (BTW majority of Mauritian Chinese are Hakka origin) The jelly fish Riki was showing are indeed real, it is awesome as a cold salad with seaweed, cucumber and sesame soya dressing, fish maw is a delicacy it is the inside belly of a fish that's been dried, used in soup or steam and the ginseng you were showing we used to get it as kids during exam time, it helps with boosting energy when studying for long hours, you guys are doing an amazing showcase of inner Mauritius, keep it up, shout when you in Sandton, will happily share a glass of wine with you, cheers 🍷🥂😎
