    What if you want to retain some of the development units (say 10 flats: sell 5, keep 5) - if the investment company is outside the group how would you get them into the investment company?

      There are many ways in which you can transfer properties into an investment company. This is however a very complex area and you do need to get specialist tax advice whenever you are pursuing this

    So are you saying have one owning company and lots of operating companies? Or lots of owning companies as well that then needs a holding company above it?

      These are all possibilities but we stress that it very much depends on individual needs and objectives

    If you had a ltd company with one serviced accommodation and one buy to let would this be considered a trading company in respects to setting up a SSAS?

      Sadly I would hate to advise on sass pensions as these are very complex in nature. It would always be better to speak to the sass pension administrator. I am sorry in advance for ducking the question but these are highly regulated products and I would not want to advise incorrectly.
