California encompasses 105 million acres of the western United States. It is world renowned for its stunning beaches, biodiverse national parks and culture-laden cities. But 40 % of it is used for farming with about 77,500 farms providing hundreds of thousands of people with work.
The state produces a wide range of agricultural products and agricultural exports totalled 22.5 billion dollars in 2021. Like other states, cattle thrive in California and in 2021, the value of Californian dairy products reached 7.6 billion dollars whilst 3.1 billion dollars came from beef farming.
