@@laurenmarie52391 pretty sure they weren't insulting her appearance...just pointing out that the extensions were visible/they probably could've got a wig instead (especially as its pretty obvious her character isnt supposed to be wearing extensions - just that thats supposed to be her 'real' hair pre-makeover). its not that deep.

I think she was supposed to be the awkward one, low self-esteem, still searching of herself and above all doesn't even care much of what's happening around her which is catastrophe because everyone is talking about anyone in high school/college. I can relate something especially on her appearance...I am much worse..as I was attending art course at college... the way I dress up (and I can see there are others too!) way different back when I first set the foot on the registrar...oh well, my grade hasn't change much..I'm always the intermediate one (nothing too great, nothing too bad..actually what keep me firm was I'm fairly top of the list in some artistry work) but more than half of community there STILL see me as outcast up untill you do somekind of makeover, getting outspoken, voice your inner opinion i.e socialize more. Actually, they don't care what you did to your appearence but as long as you make effort to socialize (which is good because you can gain knowledge anyhow) they begin to treat you like colleague. People on college badmouthing each other their daily basis unless they know you for some degrees basically. It is harsh truth many people need to swallow😕🙁 I've never come from rich family, so imagine me going through architecture school... like HELL

Just wanted to share a different opinion. I used to wear frumpy clothing, sweatpants, and ill-fitting oversized clothes that did not match, due to having low self-esteem. I was stuck in my ways, very solitary but not lonely in the slightest. I was actually very content with myself! 20 years later, after maturing I now ENJOY dressing myself up more. Though I know I would have fought tooth-and-nail, I think getting a makeover as a young girl would have really opened up my eyes to just beautiful I could be as an individual. For this movie, I think it just helped her shine more. As for fancy clothes & makeup, it's honestly quite fun to see what you like and don't like 😊
