There was a wanted poster in the show, showing a super mutant on it. You gotta be patient, they're not going to show everything in 8 episodes. There will be another season. We didn't see deathclaws or other creatures either. West coast super mutants are different and split up after the first game because the master was defeated. You meet some in New Vegas. Marcus who was in Fallout 2 leads a group who are settling down as farmers. Tabitha is another leader and a nightkin who are another type of super mutant. There were also second gen mutants who are less intelligent and created by enclave from Fallout 2. Super mutants in the west fled north and not all of them are hostile. The western super mutants were not cannibals either so they don't eat people. That began with Fallout 3 where eastern ones eat people and have meat bags everywhere and continued in Fallout 4. Eastern super mutants seem to keep growing and become behemoths. Most eastern super mutants are hostile compared to western ones. So I hope when we see them in the show, the western super mutants are not portrayed as evil. There is a theory that the squire in the series might have been given FEV and turning into a super mutant. We will have to wait until next season to find out. It's good that they're not just revealing everything at once. Save stuff for the future.

@@Nick11156Shorten it to just "played the games". For some other media and shows, I can say you don't need the source material to understand the nuances of the show, but for a show "canon" to the lore that we see only in games, I'd say you need to play the games to get the whole picture. The show isn't too bad, but the writers definitely put their foot in their mouth in certain places I can't overlook.
It's fascinating to see how far reviewers are from the greater amount of viewers/fans. I'm not sure if this is done with intent, for the sake of generating "false interest" (ie: clicks) or if they're just trying to perpetuate a narrative created by their sponsors. Whatever the case, it's almost reason enough to not visit review sites at all.
To me, one of the better aspects of Fallout is that its humor is not always in your face. The best kind of Fallout humor is when you don't expect it. You read a log, listen to a NPC and you realize how ultimately everything happens for a really dumb reason.
I agree. That Yao Guai went down pretty fast. To be fair, though, Maximus got off TWO shots, and one went into the brain pan. My 10mm in-game wouldn't have done that. But I'm ok with it here.
If you spend too much time on the setting, which you criticize they didn't do, you end up with the pacing of The Rings of Power where it moves way too slow. Especially with the amount of "side quests" there are. They did a good job managing the show's pacing with interesting enough settings.

At long last! I didn't regret binge watching the series alongside my friends awhile ago; highly worth it, alongside the humor tone and plot consistency. Little bit of research won't hurt anyone. ;-;7
The only thing I am going to dislike is some of the people that play the game because you have to think about it. They want to go on for more seasons right. They are not going to stay 100% on the path of the game to be successful especially for people who never played the game to be entertained as well. My take on the show it was good. I want more of Fallout the show
I think the show's biggest weakness is that so many things are like random encounters and there's not enough worldbuilding and fleshing out the post war societies and factions. Also, they kind of erased a lot of the lore from the original FO games and New Vegas. The NCR and the major cities established in FO2 pretty much don't exist.
The show takes place after New Vegas and implies that the NCR imploded along with the destruction of Shady Sands. And I may be wrong but timeline wise, isn't NV the furthest into the timeline of Fallout?
Hands down best series based on a video game i've seen so far (Next to The Witcher) i was expecting to be dissapointed but now i really want a season 2!
I'm going to watch this with my dad. I wont get my hopes up since other shows based on games have destroyed that for me but maybe it'll be good enough.

Amazing show. Great acting and story. They really knew what they were doing with great knowledge. One rhing ill say is that they always know where other characters are at all times?? A bit odd. One part that really gets me is how that BoS guy fixed his foot with a elixir. A bit too magicy for the universe. Love the games (waiting for a fallout 5, whenever you're ready Todd!) it rounds up the feel of the universe. I'm happy to see its doing well and im lookinb forward to season 2 with a very exciting location that we have seen before!
@@YazzPott not quite retconned since this is after 3/NV/4, but the reasons are explained by the end of the season (the giant Shady Sands crater in the trailer). Question is if the NCR still exists elsewhere (thinking the visual at the end).
@@juliuscheng5788 2277 is the year FO3 takes place which is before NV, thats when Shady Sands was bombed. Shady Sands is talked about extensively as being not destroyed in NV. I don't care that the NCR is bombed, I care that the timeline no longer makes any sense what so ever.

Could not watch more than one episode as the adverts totaly spoiled the atmosphere of the show. If i didnt use prime so much for deliveries i would have cancelled it.
There's too much focus on pre-war politics, and the NCR is wiped out, so we don't even see a prosperous post war society, that is becoming more bureau cratic and law based, rather than egalitarian.
I feel the show fails in very huge way in fallout as it literally regresses the whole story of fallout as it’s so long after the war society would recover somewhat…they had to rewrite fallout 1, 2 and new Vegas to fit thier image then only to wel” let’s just say they banking on New Vegas fans….

Did you watch the whole thing? Cuz the last 3 episodes and that Ending was INSANE. Can't wait for season 2.
To me, one of the better aspects of Fallout is that its humor is not always in your face. The best kind of Fallout humor is when you don't expect it. You read a log, listen to a NPC and you realize how ultimately everything happens for a really dumb reason.
I got no idea who Gadget Walkmen is but his yapping levels are off the charts
Just finished watching it and i loved it ❤❤
Loved that t 60 armor so cool I wish i could get one for my garage 😂
The writer said he didn't want to pleased the fan, but he did pleased the players of fallout
Nice but a 10mm Pistol that 1 shots Yao guai & Ghoul, I want 1 !!
Quad damage legendary effect 😉
Max got that 10 Luck
v
hkhkk
I agree. That Yao Guai went down pretty fast. To be fair, though, Maximus got off TWO shots, and one went into the brain pan. My 10mm in-game wouldn't have done that. But I'm ok with it here.
Just watched episode one and loved it! The tone was spot on. I can’t wait to continue!
If you spend too much time on the setting, which you criticize they didn't do, you end up with the pacing of The Rings of Power where it moves way too slow. Especially with the amount of "side quests" there are. They did a good job managing the show's pacing with interesting enough settings.
They absolutely nailed it imo
The show is FANTASTIC and one of the BEST video game live action adaptions of all time! It's easily a 9/10 to even 10/10 EXTREMELY so!
Insane. These have to be bot comments. Either that or only touch of fallout you’ve ever had was Fallout 4, which is a poorly written, shallown POS game that insults the whole franchise
@@s7omi
And Fallout 4 is nowhere NEAR as problematic as you claim for it to be anything close to a "PoOrLy wRitTeN, sHalLoWN pOS gAME tHAt InSUlTS tHE wHoLE FrANcHiSe", lol NO it doesn't at all, you're just trying BADLY right now because despite it's rough launch as the DLCs GREATLY improved the game and it's storytelling in them. Fallout 4 is an overall decent fun, good game as a whole and NOTHING that which you say AT ALL here.
Just step down as what you're saying is complete nonsense here and you keep on making yourself look incredibly terrible here, nothing more!
@@s7omi LOL Just stop talking here as NO ONE here is a "bOT cOmMEnTs" here. Everything that which you're saying here only makes YOU look bad here as badly here as you're WRONG in everything that which you say here.
The Fallout TV Show is PHENOMENAL and easily one of the best and greatest live action video game adaptions we've had. It's a fantastic show that everyone is praising for VERY good reasons.

Episode 1 - 3 Directed by Jonathan Nolan episode 4 by Daniel Gray Longino Episode 5 by Clare Kilner Episode 6 Frederick E.O. Toye Episode 7 by Frederick E.O. Toye, Clare Kilner and Episode 8 by Wayne Yip
Its meant to swing. Its meant to feel off like that. That is the tone of Fallout!
The only problem I have with this show is that Shady Sands is located in the wrong place, as it isn't in the city and should be farther up north out of LA.
My only real gripe with the series was that gunfight in the hallway in episode 8, the T-60 armour has a flashlight right on the friggin helmet.
Where else would a flashlight go? You realise helmet flashlights are real, right?
@@Johnspartan296 i think their point is that they shouldn't have had a problem when the lights went out because they should have just turned on their flashlights.
v
7 is a very low score for what we really recieved, that was some very good storytelling, especially the whole Vault Tec mistery
Generally surprised with how well they did. Gonna definitely be tested in season 2
Moises Arias is famous for his appearance in another show set in California: Hannah Montana
THAT'S where I recognized him from!
v
I like this series so much because it kept everything as a surprise for me. Plus, 3 protag on their own quest, sounds a lot like GTa IV lol
this whole review summed up: “it’s good but I didn’t like this” over and over and over again
Watching it tonight., Can’t wait .
Baby Billy? Where do you see that?
This show was so much better than I thought it would be. I am looking forward to season 2
The woman who wrote the newest tomb raider wrote the script for this. Jonathan Nolan has some writing credits but he did not write this or came up with the ending so I have hope
Gamespot is a joke 😂
They sure are
v
Absolutely loved this show. It got better for me as it went along. Looking forward to more
A very precise and fitting review, thank you.
Thanks for the work man. Havent watched it yet but long time fallout fan. Ill check it out. First m rated game i played was Fallout 3. My older cousin convinced my momma to let me play it when i was like 14. He was a G. Wish we could watch the show together
Its actually really good
8:48 bro didnt have the power armour training perk 💀
Lol what is this video. Some nonsense points being made. Fallout is literally supposed to be funny at times, and serious at other times. They have struck the perfect balance and I didn't feel like I couldn't react properly to emotional moments because of this.
Iv been playing fallout for 15 years and a massive fan I still play the games was very worried but honestly this This really really good very well done
This was perfect. The atmosphere, characters, goofy violence, the consumables and side quest locations...... Solid 5-star enjoyment
it's the best TV show! I love this TV show
I'm planning to watch this show. However, im a little concerned because i didnt play the game. Will that heavily affect my viewing experience?
No but it would be nice to play the games first, a lot of nods to the games and recognisable little bits
Best show I've seen in ages. I loved the 'side missions' these reviewers don't know what they're on about honestly.
Fun fact - Did you noticed in the 5th episode, that the raider tags on the walls are same low poly kinda unfitting textures as they are in the game?
Thats what I call love to the source material!!
Or is it a bug @toddhoward?
I will like to thanks you to make a better review than this video
they dind't show that shady sands got nuked?
v
The show takes place after New Vegas and implies that the NCR imploded along with the destruction of Shady Sands. And I may be wrong but timeline wise, isn't NV the furthest into the timeline of Fallout?
@@GiggaGMikeE New Vegas is before fallout 4 and the show is almost a decade after
It was like a children’s show with gore
The ghoul was amazing
I cannot wait for season 2!!
I loved this show honestly. I think they did a perfect job
Iv never played a fallout game before & I loved this show can’t wait for season2
Great little details for the fans, like the characters using their PipBoys as flashlights
Season 2 is gonna be lit!!!
Great review. I feel similarly
This series is Fantastic!
Are this from the guys who gave Resident Evil a 9?
This show reminded me of the "Love and Monsters" movie
I couldn't stop watching it, lol. Binged right through
Hands down best series based on a video game i've seen so far (Next to The Witcher) i was expecting to be dissapointed but now i really want a season 2!
I'm going to watch this with my dad. I wont get my hopes up since other shows based on games have destroyed that for me but maybe it'll be good enough.
❤❤❤❤Im not gonna spoiler it but i must say it, i was so nervous about the quality of this series cause im i huge fallout fan, HUGE, AND IM NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. Its so accurate about every details and most important they explained very important things that you dont know playing the games, i just love it, i hope theyll make soon the second one ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Change my mind I played all 4 and found this show fricken great. this needs more hype if you love the games you will really enjoy the show and the little touches they added. they did a great job.
New Vegas a good game too, if a little old. (Mods though, I guess to spruce it up.)
v
Amazing show. Great acting and story. They really knew what they were doing with great knowledge. One rhing ill say is that they always know where other characters are at all times?? A bit odd. One part that really gets me is how that BoS guy fixed his foot with a elixir. A bit too magicy for the universe. Love the games (waiting for a fallout 5, whenever you're ready Todd!) it rounds up the feel of the universe. I'm happy to see its doing well and im lookinb forward to season 2 with a very exciting location that we have seen before!
Wait has the TV show dropped now where?
Prime
As of yesterday
@@roschy1003 thanks need to give it a go
Are there ncr and legion in this show?
The NCR has been destroyed.
There's NCR but no Legion.
The NCR was retconned out of the universe in the way you know it
@@YazzPott not quite retconned since this is after 3/NV/4, but the reasons are explained by the end of the season (the giant Shady Sands crater in the trailer).
Is it just me or is it that all the things he showed where from game spot
like the show....had no expectations, do not care if its 100% accurate.
there also expanding on the universe not just copying.
liked it,enjoyed it...
they nailed some things...like red rocket.... like to be entertained.
not going to rant,liked it.
Loved everything about this show. Give me more
Loved this series, this is what a game adaptation should be. Halo can take some notes from this.
A fvcking 7?!
Could not watch more than one episode as the adverts totaly spoiled the atmosphere of the show.
If i didnt use prime so much for deliveries i would have cancelled it.
I love this show they did a great job. Fallout always knocking out of the park
one of the best shows. no BS just pure scifi lore just beautiful.
Loved the show.
They did a great job.
There's too much focus on pre-war politics, and the NCR is wiped out, so we don't even see a prosperous post war society, that is becoming more bureau cratic and law based, rather than egalitarian.
I just loved this show
I feel the show fails in very huge way in fallout as it literally regresses the whole story of fallout as it’s so long after the war society would recover somewhat…they had to rewrite fallout 1, 2 and new Vegas to fit thier image then only to wel” let’s just say they banking on New Vegas fans….
