Between episode 5 and 6 it became clear that most of the things Desmond did was because he hates the Sisterhood and he hates them because he thinks his mother abandoned him and forced him to fight to survive since he was a kid. Desmond tortured Keiran because he wanted a further proof that the Sisterhood is just evil and a good excuse for him to get rid of them. Having said that, I agree we don't know Desmond yet and I think it's because for the writers Desmond's purpose for this season was to bring this whole mistery but with the important revelations about him we got at the end of the season and his mixed emotions when he met his mother for the first time, he is now less mysterious. Now there are enought interesting elements to finally explore the complexity of this character and his backstory in season 2. Speaking of "potential", yes, apparently Desmond was born with some innate powers thanks to his bloodlines and he doesn't even know that yet. In that case I think his journey is going to be a rollercoaster in season 2 'cause he believed his burning powers could only be a gift from God (the sandworm in this case) then he finds out those powers come from a thinking machine without realizing that he actually has innate powers since his birth XD That potential is going to be explored at this point.
Really great insights! Yeah, I think there’s a ton of great material to mine for a potential season 2, especially with Desmond as you point out - if they do it, hopefully they can pay these things off! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
This series just made me want a new season of Raised By Wolves more than ever! SO frustrating! As for this show, yeah. Definitely a very mixed bag. I think they chose the wrong era and centreafocus.
For sure- I think for me, it doesn’t really matter what era they pick or concept, just the execution and I’m a bit disappointed THOUGH I’d be excited for a season 2! Thanks for sharing :)
What did you think of Dune: Prophecy? Let me know in the comments!
Im excited for
Dune: Prophecy season 2
I’d be excited if it happens!
