I stumble across Hobby Town drives every once and awhile. Great drive train, a little noisy but solid reliable. Thanks for sharing that ole girl. Beautiful Locomotive.
@@ModelingSteelinHO Yeah I had bought three of them to part out to build one, I love the sound of it ... The thing is very heavy for its size and runs great
@@XBOXShawn12thman Agreed. Got a soft spot for Alcos and MLW . Looking for a couple old Atlas C-424-C-425 . Would love the Bowsers but man those are expensive. Any Alco is a good thing. Waiting on a manufacturer to make a HO Alco C-415. Still waiting...,lol.
@@XBOXShawn12thman Yep,you can't beat Atlas or Kato drive. Butter smooth mechanism and she'll pull. Got a couple Atlas locomotives. RS-1x2, RS-2, S4, RSD-4/5 . All real pullers by Atlas. Lead pigs. Shawn are you set up for DCC ? How copy ?
@@johnlazar7582 IKR ... I had bought 3 of them so I can build one ... I sent all the other leftover pieces to Jesse in Oklahoma see if he can try to build one
@@XBOXShawn12thman I have a couple of old Hobbytown locos, along with about 100 old DC locos, but because I run DCC I rarely run any of them. I always liked the Hobbytown stuff.
@@XBOXShawn12thman Me too Shawn, but my best friend (also a model railroader) talked me into DCC about 15 years ago, so I started with one loco and now I have about 2 dozen DCC locos. They do have their advantages.
@@johnlazar7582 I have a couple DCC and I have one that's DCC ready and my layout is all DCC friendly turnouts ... I have never even tried to run a DCC before and if I switched to DCC what do I do with all my DC stuff
@@XBOXShawn12thman it will be a while before I tackle that project, I did look at them, I I see all the pieces seem to be ready 👍 My project list is a mile long 😃
