    Moves and tricks are nice to watch and score points, but theres nothing like seeing a smooth wave ride , amazing how you can do front and backside turns on those waves ,great style, love your videos

    Definitely win 'Spray of the Day' ... Heartfelt analysis - I enjoyed this heat, but at the end of the day you need a bit of luck out there too Meht. 😉😉😉

    Really enjoyed the video , great to hear your feed back . I think the result was fair in the end. But I also agree it’s very tricky to get the flow of a good bottom to top turn up in these conditions which you did well . Thanks for doing the video and please do more

    It seems in places with less defined waves the emphasis of the score lies on the moves, with the flow and critical sections getting less love - even though you can see it definitely is part of the consideration, it just leans more to the move... Anyway - solid action and good to see the Brits represented!

    You done good, for a uk south coast wind slop pro sailer in your first PWA competition. I cant think of anyone from the south east coast other than Baker that has ever entered a PWA event 🤙🏻

      Cheers. For me it was an achievement just to be able to compete with these guys. It’s definitely a completely different world to the south coast!

    Great Pozo follow-up, thank you! The time you put into this will likely pay off well in your next competitions as you learn from yourself. Shared around to hopefully get you to 200 likes, please do the same with your next heat.

    Your general problem is lack of power! This translate to low jumps, smooth carves-but slow, the only spark was your shove it on a wave. You have to train hard to gain more muscle mass and also have to speed up, meaning building fast twitching fibers. Wavesailing is fast explosive movement with sometimes full max power that your body can handle. Technically your are good, but start training power, stop using a small sail and hardly be on a plane, you have to BLAST around, that´s were top pros like Marc, Phillip or Marcilio leap you by miles.

    I like the video very much. It’s already huge accomplishment that you’re part of the event and studying at the same time. So congrats for that. I personally think the waves scores were ok. Your turn was sick but his wave a big bigger I think. Anyway Pozo is the land of double forwards and the level is so sick and so specific there, it’s hard to do much if you don’t train 2-3 months a year like a psycho there. Sylt or even Cabo Verde would have fitted your style more I think. Only the top top guys can pull doubles in Sylt and wave ride made a real difference. Anyway good luck and thanks for the videos.

      Cheers, it’s cool to hear different opinions as judging wave sailing is crazy tough. Yeah I would agree that pozo is not my favourite place, I was gutted that they didn’t have Tenerife as I prefer it there!

      @@LucasMeldrumK90 How is Cabezo different from Pozo? (neither are yet in my skill set - I am a medano bay kinda guy haha - but just curious to hear.)

    • @LucasMeldrumK90
      @LucasMeldrumK90  Рік тому +1

      Very different even though the pictures make it look very similar. Cabezo is a proper wave with power as it breaks on a shallow reef and is more side shore compared to pozo. Cabezo is a wave riding spot while pozo is a jumping spot

    Really nice video, thanks for the insides! IMHO the judging is about right. As Andres also said, your wave was probably not one of the biggest. Sick turn and nice backside air though! Keep up the good work!

      Cheers. Yh a lot of it is about tactics and wave selection, which is a skill in itself…

    Cool to hear your opinion on which moves should score more and which less since I can't really do any of Them 😂 hard to tell the degree of difficulty just by looking at them
