Just think if everyone was in electric vehicles evacuating for hours, electric generators, electric rescue vehicles in high water! No electricity for days to weeks after......People need to think before forcing things on others. Many, Many more lives would have been lost... Appreciate our essentials that we have! As early as Sunday night, storm surge from north of Fort Myers south to Bonita Beach was expected to be 4-7 feet. That advisory alone was enough warning to get out of any coastal island at that point. To expect predictions to be totally accurate is foolish at best and deadly at worst. By Monday night there was plenty of time to at least go further inland to the east and south to at least have less risk to one's life and those that one would have been responsible for. There was still enough time on Tuesday to do the same thing. As always, some folks aren't going to leave regardless of whatever the advisory or what the order may be to leave. It is a tough lesson to learn when it ends up like this.

I looked it up there were Native Indians living on Sanibel Island 2500 years ago they were called the Calusa Indians, so if they could live on the island back then, certainly those that want to stay, if they got generators and stockpiles, let them stay I would if I could.

    - NAHUM 1:3 -
The LORD is slow to anger,
and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked:
*the LORD hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.*
Proverbs 15:29 - The LORD is far from the wicked: but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Proverbs 16:4-5 - The LORD hath made all things for Himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
Proverbs 15:32-33 - He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

STOP IT.. JUST STOP IT!.. I get so sick and tired of people trying to be a cliche. Calling people hero's and such when its simply their jobs. True Hero's that truly risked their lives for others more often dont like being called as such as by their own words, whay theyve done was simply the humane thing to do. These newscasters are a freaking pain trying to make spectical of things that dont need their so-called aid. Stop with the labeling of things. ANd let people commit to the tasks at hand that they signed up for. This tragic situation doent need the added coating on of lip service.
