I wonder if they are drawing inspiration from 70s n 80s children's Halloween books. Pink and green was utilized a lot in those eras.

I have to say I'm not super thrilled with the Hallow Hippie ! It would be cute in a little girls room, but for me I Love the old school traditional colors! One thing I can say is Michaels puts out Awesome Halloween lights!

Honestly, I’m just waiting for Michael’s large ceramic cauldrons to come back. I feel most of their other stuff isn’t worth it. Even with the 40% off coupon.

I have a mid century house and I’m going to decorate a bedroom with this collection. I’ve always been a traditional Halloween colors/vintage decor lover. But I can make this collection work. It’s fun and something different and way better than the neon/fluorescent Halloween they had last year!!

There are a couple of items I like in this, that I will use for all the time decore in my studio, I like a bright and vibrant place to be creative, I do feel like its not hippie though, and I know they will have other stuff out that will fit for those that don't like this, normally it's three collections right, I am eager for the dark romantic line to come out.
The thing with Michael's is they always have a second collection that comes out later and is more spooky and gothic. And it's usually really good, but I agree I hate this multi-colored Halloween crap.
Yeah the spooky town has come out now with a few more old school Halloween pieces thankfully!
I love pink, but at Halloween, I need all the black, white and orange, maybe little purple. But, this is all a big no. It's not even cute at all.

I really think some folks are sleeping on this idea! It's perfect for those that like pastel goth things, is great for a more spooky spring or summer time, Valloween, birthdays, or if you have a kid that likes cute stuff along with horror movies! My thing is, instead of looking at the line as something to completely buy and decorate with on its own, you can have some fun mixing it WITH darker things. I dunno, I just like the kitschy factor as someone who likes year round dark decor but saves the Halloween Orange for just the season.
Plus... I like bubblegum pink! Lol Especially more than that god awful peachy/beige pink that is usually used.

This collection is an abomination to Halloween.
As if the decorations weren't ugly enough (not to mention cheap-looking), those colors add insult to injury. Why has Michaels decided to make so many Halloween items Pepto-Bismol-Pink? Hideous 1970s-themed psychedelic items. Why the insistence on making items in neon-bright pastel colors that no one associates with autumn/Halloween? It's only late June and Michaels has ALREADY managed to f*ck-up Halloween. Looks as if I won't be wasting any time going in there anytime soon.

I like it all! My taste is fickle, I decorate by zones, and like to switch things up every year.
I think they are trying to do ‘summerween’. Not my vibe, except the one solid black cauldron. As long as this is just in addition to regular Halloween and not instead of, I’m okay with it.

I actually do like some of this stuff. I'm into the darker, gothic, grunge, spooky stuff but I'm also into the bubble gum, pink, girlie/feminine stuff too. I do have an issue with it being called Hippie because like you said hippie was more tie dye, floral, paisley etc. The disco ball doesn't make any sense because that belongs to a completely different time period. I mean Michael's also has the regular scary items too so 🤷🏻♂️

Just sharing my opinion on the Hippie Hallow line and I even said in the video if you like it that’s great it’s just not my cup of tea!
I’m personally not a fan of this collection. I loved last year’s Halloween assortment so much and I was looking forward to an even better year. Definitely disappointed! Thanks for saving me a trip!

I know they are not for everyone but I found a very cool vintage man in the moon and black cat table decor a few days ago for $2 that still works. Of course done do that if you would rather not. I just thought it’s not a bad place to check out.

This is perfect for kid friendly homes or primary School teacher classroom and has a fun scooby doo feel to it. This works with a celebratory day of the dead theme with the orange pink and yellow. I get the love it or hate it reactions. A nice alternative to gore and goth. I love it.

Michael's and At Home are doing this theme on their Halloween and I think they are just trying to give a different direction to attract customers and some do like it. Personally Michael's had a vintage theme for a couple of years which I loved, but for some reason Target took it over and Michael's has been struggling with their choices ever since. It is how to make Halloween more attractive. Hell no one has done Hippy 60's style. Let's give that a go! It would be far more useful if they surveyed their customers to find out what the customers are looking for and then go in that direction. Personally I find most Halloween items stale and unimaginative. How do you take an old idea and make it new again? People love vintage and last year Dollar Tree had some adorable vintage signs, but they were easels and an awkward size, but people were excited over them. This year At Home has a Frankenstein Monster skeleton which hasn't been done and there are animated statues of Cousin Itt, Wednesday Addams, a skeleton diver and a Disney Haunted Mansion headless knight that is different. These stores need to get some imagination or go copy vintage. Slapping blood on things just doesn't make it sellable.
