Persona 5: The Phantom X is a strange game at ATLUS, because its a big mobile game, something that we have not seen before from ATLUS. Shin Megami Tensei Dx2 is more focused on Gacha, while P5X also has those elements, it definitely looks and feels like a more expensive experience. Persona 5: The Phantom X has yet to be confirmed for a release outside of Asia, but… we still have an update on the english version of Persona 5: The Phantom X.

Persona 3 remake, Unicorn Overlord, SMT5 Vengeance, and Metaphor Fantazio releasing this year. That is a lot of games for Atlus in one year.....and these are the ones we know about.

3:55 I think you might be misinterpreting what she’s saying there. The way she phrases “Not just US only” reads to me like she’s trying to say “It’s not planned for only the US”. English isn’t Midori’s first language remember, so mistakes like that are easy to make.

I spent 2 weeks of January playing through the game, from the stuff I could understand it was pretty fun and it has most of the mechanics from P5 that you would expect like a story, social links, activates, and the metaverse but there was also a lot of new stuff I didnt understand that was new. I hope this game does get localized soon cause it would be interesting to hear what these characters sound like with a english dub. Also this game supports all console controllers like PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox but they are kinda buggy at the moment lol

@@properjellydontbeproper3652he means it supports controllers, so you can play with a controller. The bugginess will likely be fixed when it is released (likely) on steam which does controller support really well

I would love to play yet another P5 spinoff, as long as it's got japanese voiceovers, but I don't do online games.
I already play like 3 gacha games at the same time, so I dunno...
I don't think I could force myself to pick up ANYTHING related to Persona 5 at this point...
I'll still follow all Persona news, but man... I'm so ready to move past P5 in every possible way. I'm hoping in 10+ years I can look back at Persona 5 & feel nostalgic for it again, but at this point Atlus won't let that happen! 😅

I would play I wonder if my Samsung s20 can run it! Also Midori is super sus recently. Her leaks are a little bit too good 😂 my theory is that Atlus is feeding her info on purpose to get people talking. She’d be fired by now for sure lol

Seems like since this is a different team, they may only want to use their resources to port it over to the US first before Europe.

i dont wanna spend every day playing persona 5
I like the idea of atlus trying out new stuff that isnt just that standard games they have been making. I wonder though if something like a persona 5 X would feel fun to play. taken honkai star rail and genshin (2 gacha games) for example they update their game every 6 weeks I wonder if and I suppose I am already thinking WAY future ahead then is realistically possible but still think mentioning it might be interresting. how is content going to play out? cause playing persona like games to me has always been something I Binge within a couple of weeks but will it be something that will lock you off the story and characters everry 6 weeks like the before mentions gacha games, who give out their big content updates every year, does that mean something like the phantom x will also only give us like 1 palace each year? okay definitly thinking 2 far ahead here but I though I would mention it given that I personally dislike it when a gahca's do this despite knowing full well why they do. it just takes me out of the experience and I rather just wait for the full game were to be finished (if they keep the server up for that long LUL)
Keep in mind mobile gaming is more popular in Asia due to costs, convenience and accessibility. Most Asians have a busy work/school life schedule, thus not enough time to play console games. Mobile/portable gaming is the optimal option, as they just need to play for short periods, then repeat the next day. Also writers and developers can improve their skills in live service games though gradually through version updates, unlike 1-time narrative console games. Some game developers in CN; Hoyoverse, Kurogame, Yostar already showed that area of improvement.
Considering P-Team and Honkai Star Rail inspires each other's project, it's likely P5X game and narrative structure will be similar to Star Rail. The core 5 is the focus in the main/interlude story, while Phantom Idols are the focus in event/side stories. The Phantom Idols are still relevant in the main story, as Tomoko, Kiyoshi, Yaoling and Kayo made notable appearances in the prologue and first chapter in the beta tests. Another thing is since all of the current P5 console titles streaming restrictions lifted, meaning Atlus and Black Wings can go all out in terms of narrative direction for P5X. Plus the potential of playable characters from Royal, Strikers, and Tactica to be playable Phantom Idols through version updates.

I don’t really play any games on the phone at all. I still have these mobile gotcha’s but they’re on the PlayStation or Steam. Which means if it’s not coming to PlayStation or steam then I’m not playing it
I hope if they do a worldwide release of persona 5 x that they at least decide to release for consoles and pc as well as. Global fans tend to have more time to game unlike the east because of the better work life balance. I’d definitely check it out if I got to relax on the couch and play it on the big screen

Considering P5X acknowledges Royal and spin-offs/follow ups, it's still possible to get playable characters from console titles. Don't forget the streaming restrictions expired, meaning Atlus and Black Wings Studios can go all out with spoilers to some extent.
At the same time, since there's no Almighty element in Phantom X, Zenkichi and Toshiro might be assigned to different elements. Best guess Zenkichi as a self stat increase slash/physical DPS but with drawbacks, Toshiro as a gun support with team covers and slight HP regen
Based on that they are still developing a global release and not yet open to public in cn, hope it gets a global release in 2 or 3 years from now.
It's leaked to be released in fiscal year 2025. They're working on the western version as of now. (Even JP doesn't have a release date despite the CN beta playable with JP voices)

When they announced p5x i was like wow i can finally atleast experience a little bit of p5. Looking forward to it and i hope the global release still happens cause sometimes cn games takes years before they launch global putting global beside
SMT DX2 is what really got me into the whole series. I actually think it's a really well done gatcha.

The only reason they are bringing this game over is because the Persona 3 remake sold so well.
its nice to hear more about this game, though its a shame they are lagging behind with a english release, though i really should't be suprised about that.
Would i play it? sure, i'd give it a go, though it will have to have a real good story and events to keep me coming back wich will probably the hardest for them.
Couse for all we know its just a game made to milk the fanbase and will be barebones, time will tell.
If there was a western release of this game, I'd be interested ... if it weren't a gacha game.
