Sei whale got its name because of a fish that we norwegians call for sei or as it is called coalfish or pollock in english which is one of the sei whales favorite meals and whalers said that the sei whale looked actually like the minke whale the whale that most coast Norwegian whalers hunted and they often got confused thinking that the sei whale was a minke whale
