  • Duke breaks in his new Weber Traveler at Ketch HQ and cooks for the crew at the shop.
While we intended this to be a grill we’d take on the road for video shoots; our schedules have dictated that it become a shop grill for now.
Every week we’ll be cooking on Tuesdays for the whole shop crew, and we’ll be periodically following up with videos on the long term durability and performance of this grill.
First impressions are…. WOW! This is the best tailgate/camping grill hands down.
An offering worthy of the Weber heritage and at below $400 this is a great deal for such a portable and easy to use grill.
This is a must have product for the angler or outdoorsman in your life.
The Weber Traveler* portable gas grill is for anyone who wants delicious grilled food away from home or has limited storage space.
Whether you’re camping, tailgating or picnicking, its sturdy, compact design makes for a seamless experience, from setup to storage.
Savor the journey with backyard quality food, no matter where the adventure takes you.

I want to work at Ketch! Well, right before lunch, anyway... ;-)

Good video. Just one correction: since the cooking grates (cast iron material) are covered with porcelain enamel layer, seasoning is not required.

Yeah, but if you've been cooking on these things for decades then you know to season regardless... Old habits die hard, and we can all use an excuse for more bacon! The first thing that hits any new grill is always bacon or pork bellies... Learn it!

My Weber Traveler just arrived today (on a pallet, surprisingly). Been watching videos for a couple of hours (already ordered a sweet rotisserie accessory), but had to comment because: 1. Good dog! 2. Nobody else seasoned with bacon! 🥓

Cheers!! Gracie has fallen into the shop dog role nicely, and any reason for bacon is a good reason to bacon.

there is never a wrong time to bacon (except right before your heart cath). I got the rotisserie too, and am going to use it for pizza oven!

4 weeks into doing lunch here at the shop and we're really impressed. The portability is next level. So much easier than anything else out there. From setup to breakdown it takes about 45 minutes to cook for our crew of about a dozen here.

Weber said don't hold the red handle when raising - just the end under side tray. Any problems with handle ever?

No issues so far, and we are intentionally really hard on our grills, so this traveler and the slate that we are testing right now have been not just used, but abused. We grill 2-4 times a week here at the shop and we're coming up on one year with this traveler and have an upcoming video about how it's held up. Spoiler Alert: Works just as well as the day we got it and shows no signs of wear from what we've thrown at it. I still think the Q cooks a little better, but the portability of this unit is awesome, and it's definitely a solid buy if you take your grilling on the road.

Hi Duke, thanks for the great review. Quick question. Roughly how long does it need to cool down after a cook before it can be popped in the trunk?

    • @KetchOutdoors
      @KetchOutdoors  2 місяці тому +1

Not too long at all. We typically drain the grease tray right after grilling, and by the time we've thrown leftovers in tupperware and cleaned up it's cool to the touch. I'll get back to you with a more scientific answer... Just hadn't thought to time it. Thanks for watching!!

      About 15-20 minutes.
