- Funk disco style backing track for bass in the key of d major. Influenced by the likes of Chic, Sister Sledge and Bee Gees. The track has sections that use the Dorian mode and the Phrygian mode. Enjoy!

I find a lot of scales random by ear by mixing them up but I like to try and find all the notes I can play in these tracks by ear and man! I had a blast playing over this track! Disco groovy funky stuff seems to bring out the best in me haha. This music is for the soul! I felt like I was walking down the streets with the Bee Gees hahah.

This is one of my favorites for jamming because it changes up the progression between the verse, chorus, and bridge, so it doesn't get boring. Great job!

i know a song which has similar chord progression(main two chords), it is called Olduramadım by Özkan Uğur who is a bassist actually. if you listen you'll clearly hear progression and funky bass lines :)

+fgelinas Thanks a lot mate! I would like to upload more but I'm mainly focused on my drum backing tracks channel and a lot of the tracks are riff based and don't really suit being converted to bass backing tracks. I'm sure I will be uploading more in the future though so keep an eye out!

Em dorian, but the g note is being played, yet its in the key of d major?? Holy shit, why does it have to be soo hard to comprehend...
Em Dorian contains the exactly same notes as D Major, it's just that the root note is E rather than D which makes the intro and verse of this track in E Dorian. It's hard to fully explain in a UA-cam comment but if you keep studying you will get there.
@@BackingTracksForBass thank you for the reply, my comprehension is not the greatest, iv been playing 25 years and only just decided to learn theory! Lol wish me luck! There is a lot of info on the internet, where i get lost is the placement of these modes, its all good learning modes and scales, but if they arent played over the correct chord sequence, it just sounds weird, il keep searching...
@@airanwater01 Theory is well worth learning so you've made the right decision! Sometimes modes are explained in an unnecessarily complicated way. All they are is just the major scale but starting from a different note within the scale.
I tried the E Dorian scale and it worked well..can you tell me why this scale works for a D Major tune? I know E in the second note in the D Major scale
