    All of the citations are from a single chapter from Drach's lengthy and dense book. That chapter can be read at : blog.siftj.org/december-10-20.... In it you will find all of the Talmud, Midrash, Targunim citations.

    Simeon's prophecy and what He told Mary at the presentation of Jesus in the temple also predicts what the Jews would think of Jesus. Jesus fulfills all prophecy. Praise God! I pray that the Jews be loosed from the spirit of Antichrist in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through his blood shed on the cross. Happy Hannukah and Happy Advent. Thank you, Roy! I always enjoy your teachings.

      Romans 11 makes it clear that "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day...Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brethren: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles come in, and so all Israel will be saved" (Rom 11:8, 25-26). So I would not say that it is the spirit of the antichrist, but rather God's plan, at work. That said, the prayers are nonetheless needed! God Bless, Roy

    Marvellous! May the Lord bless you and keep you, Roy.
    There’s also the matter of prophetic timing given to Daniel. Israel was due! See how those excited young men in John 1 were triggered by their quest.
    If Jews read the Gospels, and Christians read the Midrashim, wow, we’d have a lot to discuss.
    But it would take a Buddhist to understand why Nathaniel said,
    “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel!” simply for being spotted under a sycamore fig.

    I never liked the idea that the Jewish people were only expecting a military leader to overthrow the Romans (and of course they hoped for that too), but it kind of means God didn't teach them correctly as to who was to arrive.

    Thankyou Roy, enjoying your talks. Even though you won’t be coming to Pantasaph (Wales) again we can follow your teachings on line. I like the idea that when God in Genesis says "Let there be light," God is referring to physical light, but he is also referring to Jesus, the "light of the world." It could be that the rest of the Bible is just the playing out of this third verse in the Bible, "God said 'Let there be light'."

    • @atgred
      @atgred 6 місяців тому

      I’ve heard also the interpretation of when at that moment God is creating all the angels. Because in a sense the verse makes us believe this light is being created and as we know and accept The Word has always existed.

    I have read both volumes of Drach's Harmonie. Don't you think his two main theses, that pre-Christian Judaism believed in the Trinity and the future incarnation of the Divinity in the Messiah (and specifically the "second light", or the second ה in the Tetragram) rest too strongly in the purported antiquity that cabalists atribute to the cabala? I remeber as well Drach being at times too optimist in his interpretation of the texts, and, even if they were truly as old as he thinks, I wonder to what extent the text selection represents a general view within pre-Christian Judaism or just a tendency or school.

    • @canornemoris2297

      I don't mean to discredit Drach's work by this. It is a very wonderful piece of work written with utmost erudition, and quite worthwhile reading to get acquainted with some real harmony. I just wonder how far does the harmony really go.

    • @JewishCatholic
      @JewishCatholic  6 місяців тому +5

      The vast majority of his citations, at least from what I have read of his, are from the Talmud/Midrashim/Targunim. I don't think I use any of his from the Cabala. Besides which, whether the Jewish belief is from the time of Christ or the early middle ages, it nonetheless reflects Jewish beliefs which today are denied to have ever existed.

      @@JewishCatholic I remember lots and lots of cabalistic passages, which is not a criticism, but they'd have been written down after the Talmudic period (which certainly doesn't exclude greater antiquity in their content necessarily). But anyways, you probably know much better than I to what degree the interpretations Drach proves as historically held, at least by some, are denied today, and this is no little thing.
