Ken's name crossed my path yesterday and once again I was transported back to high school as a freshman in 1971 when we had Ken Medema in chapel each day for a week. I was in choir and got to perform with him and even chatted with him which was a big deal for me. Turns out, all these years later, he's a friend of my cousin. Now he's coming to town and will touch more young lives. Ah, Memory Lane!
This is just as powerful TODAY ... praying about the global PANDEMIC... AS it was in the 70's when I first heard him sing it in our church in Pompano Beach FL. Still praying and singing!
Several years ago I was so moved by Ken Medema's music. No one does "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" like Ken Medema. Thank you, God, for Your gift through him. Cheryl
We at Almaden Hills United Methodist Church were the proud recipients of a special concert yesterday in honor of our beloved Choirmaster, John Hess. What a wonderful and talented man! I'm 72 and I've never heard anything like him--what an inspiration! Thank you for posting his music for us to enjoy!
I'm 71, went to more concerts than I can remember and have said the same thing for 46 years. If there is another artist like Ken I haven't heard about him/her.
Before the pandemic started this song kept on running through my mind---over and over again. I shared this to my friends and this ment so much to them also. When we don't know how how to pray, just listen to the words.
Love love LOVE Ken Medema!!!! When I was in high school and college years ago, our church's youth/young adult choir did a ton of Ken Medema music, and it was not only extremely fun to perform, but immensely meaningful as well. I've also had the opportunity to meet Ken a few times, and he even wrote a song about my parents, from me ("notes" about them that I supplied), and it brought them to tears. (Me too.) An extremely talented musician and a true man of God. Thanks for posting!!
Have loved Ken Medema for years and years! I believe that my dad introduced me to him. I commissioned a song for my parents anniversary some years back. Ken Medema never disappoints!
In college, my choir once had the privilege of singing this song WITH Ken himself. He listened to us sing it in rehearsal, and there were tears in the old man's eyes.
Ken Medema will be at Peachtree Presbyterian, Atlanta, Sunday, July 21, in the 8:45, 10 and 11:15 am worship hours. We are looking forward to his being here.

I was listening to my old cassette tape when this song popped out. How refreshing to hear it again after 3 decades ago.

So glad a friend told me about this wonderful, soulful singer!

For years, I have looked for Ken Medema's music, and this is the first I heard it since the late 70s. I am so grateful to hear it again.

I saw Ken at Greenville College, Illinois circa 1980. Could never forget the Moses song. Powerful.
