Why did he not talk about the relationships of consumerism and firms making products that last only a short time so that firms make better profits ? - see series "The Men Who Made Us Spend"- episodes 1 - 3
using this vid for a midterm assignment. Needing to cite, would really help if someone could put more info for referencing purposes in the bio block under the video posting. Thx :) (I'm using APA 7 but Im sure others that use Chicago or other would appreciate also!)
I tend to think that this problem is an inherent trait of capitalism and won't be remedied until we can move past capitalism. I wonder though since these problems are becoming more widely acknowledged; do you think we're getting to a point where people are coming back around to true materialism, as in seeking out purely useful items? or are we still on the path of growth for growth's sake?
+Nilbogish i do also think we need to move past those principles. im sick of more than 20% of edible food being thrown away while people in the same neighborhood suffer bc of hunger. its just inefficient.
Time to time it is very refreshing to learn about the past!

We need to move away from materialism period. Not seek a true form.
That's wild 18:55
I'd better watch Terence McKenna on consumerism...
looks like Frazier
OVER PRODUCTION OF ANY COMODITY CREATES MORE GARBAGE. THE PROPER AMOUNT OF PROUCTION SAVES MONEY IN STORAGE.

Hello
hello, did you enjoy the video?
Interesting talk, but man, I bet this guy self-flagellates daily about his enormous sense of white guilt.
You're obviously a racist :):) (and insecure about being Japanese? your issues precede you :)
This is a ridiculous comment 😂
He was stating FACTS, Karasawa21797. Not white guilt, social facts.
Yeah he had me until the racism spiel.
