just watched a video about Moscow. a clean and well-groomed city, luxuriously dressed people. I wanted to watch a video about Vancouver and compare it, because this city was in the top of the best cities on the planet. Oh my God, it's like heaven and hell. it's just some kind of hell.

Could not agree more. Vancouver has been on my bucket list along with Winnipeg since I first heard about them in school in Scotland. Looking at the footage I don't think I'll
even bother now. Nearly went in 1999 wished now I had. Five years ago I booked up for Moscow flying via Helsinki, but the tourist visa got so complicated I just canxelled.

When I came to Vancouver in 1972 - the lower Mainland had around 600,000 + people , I came from Alberta to work
underground in the Hard Rock Mines - Calgary & Edmonton had around 160.000+ people then now 1+ Million - in
Vancouver we now have 2.5+ Million - the last 15+ years saw the closing of Bars and live Entertainment and the
switch to more Drugs on the Street - Now legal things are out of control ?
MASS IMMIGRATION - from the 3rd World Countries of 400,000+ a year have compounded the Problem - When we
had 35+ Million , seniors , the poor and homeless found little help - Now 40 Million People here - I worked in the Far
North - there is One Road from Edmonton to Yellowknife - 900 Miles - Build more roads - and a railway - survey and
divide up the land and build infrastructure in the North for New Towns and Cities - Then bring more people ?
UN Agenda 21 - UN Agenda 2030 = more than 175+ countries and the Politicians signed this Agreement to Reduce
the World Population down to 500 Million - Georgia Guide Stone - First they were spaying CHEM TRIALS poison in

Using electoral politics to try and explain poverty is similar to using a weather map to explain the climate or using the bible to explain ethics - it's an over-simplification that helps ignorant people to avoid looking too closely at the predictable consequences of their amorality and abdication of responsibility. The truth is that poverty has almost nothing to do with electoral politics and everything to do with the exploitation of people and the cartelization of the economy ubiquitous in late stage capitalism. The capitalists reply that "it's either us or communism" - while making sure anarchists and libertarian socialists are never mentioned in the mass media, preserving the illusion of the false dichotomy. I'm a Vancouverite - I'm proud of the supervised injection site and the drugpeace activists that have stopped the overdose crisis from being as bad as it could have been without our efforts - for all anyone knows without the drugpeace community North American could be similar to the Philippines - with poverty, rampant drug use AND death-squads involved in mass murder of the underground drug community - and people like @easygame7955 cheering on the genocide of the medically autonomous from the sidelines, beer in hand, smug in his sanctimony, comforted by his superficial understanding.

@@malmolevine If you believe that poverty is why some large cities have an out-of-control homelessness/addiction problem then you are flat-out wrong. Your comment does sound nice but misses the many real causes for the problem.

A lot of these blue states and cities tend to have more international seaports and airports and international travelers crisscrossing. If they implement a draconian law to deal with the homeless, it would the international news media would pounce on like tick to a dog. For example, we can examine how the City of Seattle dealt with CHOP City. Spoiler, they dealt with it just fine. The city corral the protesters and they bandwagon idiots into a small zone. The city had under-covered cops watching them. Once the international media were less interested, the city swooped in and quietly arrested all of the trouble makers, while leaving the legitimate protesters were left alone until CHOP dissolved. Yet, Pundits from Thailand to India mocking the city of Seattle for their inability to deal with problems by blaming American liberal laws.
I can't speak for Canada, but cities like Seattle want to do something about the homeless and drug addictions, but some greedy lawyer will sue the crap out of the city if they made it mandatory to arrest people for drug treatments.

Yep - lots of people like to blame it solely on drugs without realizing that for many of the stereotypical drug addicted homeless, the homelessness came FIRST, the drugs came SECOND.
Many of them only start abusing drugs AFTER they’re already on the streets, to numb themselves out of the reality of the hell their lives have become.
Now let’s talk about all the non-addicted homeless living in vehicles who still go to work every day but simply cannot afford anywhere to live…

They smoke meth and/or crack. Some others do fentanyl and/or heroin, these can also be smoked and/or injected by syringe. A few have mental health issues their whole lives and didn’t choose to end up homeless, but here they are. A scattering of alcoholism throughout for good measure.

No matter where you go, sights like this are becoming more common. What's worse is wheh individuals like these take over an area, it could cost business owners their livelihood or ruin a neighborhood. These individuals only worry about themselves and it shows. Look at how destroyed these buildings are. Graffiti, broken windows add to the fact that some of the area looks like a literal garbage dump is absolutely disgusting. It's hard to feel sympathy for those who show little to no respect. I dont know why open drug use in public is more of a thing now than it's ever been?

Do you notice all the homeless have new shoes. I am wearing old boots as I leave for work today and proud of it. Every person must carry their own weight in this world. These people just want to get high and they want the citizens to pay for it.

The mayor of Vancouver was elected recently and he won't do anything and part of downtown will stay that way. you should know that british columbia has decided not to penalize drug users anymore, it's a shame. I am very sad about this situation because such a measure is not intended to protect citizens against the dangers of drugs. In the ranking of the most pleasant cities in the world Vancouver is often in the top 3, it pays for this ranking for sure. How sad.😢

I live in Edmonton and we have the same issue here only a much smaller scale. I did grow up in Vancouver and though East Hastings has always had a reputation, it was only a block or two. Now it's spread to a much larger area. I get that these individuals likely have traumas that led them down this path BUT it seems like they have more rights than the honest working tax payer.

When the majority of politicians in a country are bought by drug traffickers, it's akin to the death of democracy in that country.

I got out of the railway station in Van arriving from Toronto, from.Europe, somewhere in the 1970's.
The first thing almost obliterating my face was an enormous billboard: "Buy now, pay later".
Whether it is clear to all of ypu, or not, the fact is that "later" from the bilboard, is NOW.
North America and the Anglosaxon world as a whole, is dying, because of the Babylonian system. That system is a lie and is criminal.
