- In this tutorial Alex shows you how tie the Turbo German Rig for carp fishing. The German rig is arguably one of the most popular wafter rigs out there. However, the Turbo German Rig is arguably much better. Similar to a ronnie rig, due to the critically balanced nature of the setup and a swivel at the hook end it flips and turns into the carps bottom lip extremely quickly. Turbo German rigs are one of the best wafter rigs out there, and when set up on a lead clip arrangement are perfect for when fishing over a spod mix, a spread of boilies or even single hook bait fishing on a clean spot.
Our Essential Fruit wafters, particularly our dumbbell wafters are the perfect wafter hookbait for this set up.
Included in the video is how the Turbo German Rig presents underwater.

Can you use this for bottom baits to please? 🤩🤩
Yes. Why not?
This isn’t a turbo German it’s a Ronnie / spinner rig a turbo has no quick change swivel at all and the braid is tied to the hook and a kicker added
Awesome explanation. Great tips and hints of rig mechanics 💯👍
Thanks Keith 👍
Could you use this in a PVA bag or is it better to use mesh for this ?
I have ONLY ONE question: hook should lay down on the ground or should "stay" on the water?🤯🫣
what is the difference between this and a ronnie rig i can not see it
Nice mate cheers
Thanks Sumo

Great vid. Will this work with fluorocarbon as well?
@@delwigzieful Got it. Thanks a lot.
@@jordycz1 your welcome it's a brilliant rig already had 2 mid 30 pounders best of luck bro
So it’s just a Ronnie rig with a wafter on
The main difference is you remove the ring swivel and there's no loop, so you wouldn't be able to use a pop up with it they way this is tied.
