@Sasha Anne yes. The reason he gave was stupid. "They were already up by 4 so I'm ok with the no call". That has to be one of the dumbest takes I've seen on this show. Who gives a crap what the score is. The score should never determine if a yellow or a pk is given. Goal differential matters in this league. Just think if they miss the playoffs because of GD.
"Game Management"? The game is over. Game management comes most into play at the other end of the clock. With that line of thought, defenders are free to start going for the knees with under 10 minutes to go if they're losing by enough.
You contradict yourself on the Bryce Duke sequence. Unnecessary force it is!! It should have been a pk and a second yellow. Whatever the score is and the time of the play. You’re all wrong on this one!
So basically “for game management” it’s ok to take your frustrations out on an opponent and level him if you’re down 4-0 late in a game. No. Damn. Way. For excessive force, these calls have to be made regardless of score line or time of game. Let this go? You send a message that it’s ok and your next blowout will get out of hand quickly! And your comment that Duke wouldn’t have gotten to the ball? All the more reason to not make an excessive force, non-soccer play against that attacker. Brutal take.
Minnesota defender acting like it's the NHL and checking the Montreal player into the boards. Weibe "Play on." I gotta get home for supper. Weibe put the Serious Foul Play rule in the video TWICE. "A tackle or challenger endangers the SAFETY of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul." But game management is more important to Weibe than safety. Thank god Weibe is a commentator and has nothing to do with the safety aspects of anyone's job.Why do I hate-watch this propagandist?
Absolutely should have been called a foul. No question. The fact that there was no foul called is inexcusable, and no amount of "game management" by the refs can justify not calling a foul here.
That was a PK and should have been a second yellow. Minnesota played with no discipline. Play on is the WRONG call, doesn't matter 4-0 or 0-0. A foul is a foul!
100% agree. I also fail how not calling PK for a clean, albeit completely unnecessary foul, will help with game management. If anything, letter that kind of crap go unpunished usually makes games get more out of hand...
Yep I agree with you. A foul is a foul, it doesn’t matter if the game is decided. Hell, players and coaches can get fouls and cards AFTER the whistle is blown. Should have been called, really unprofessional by the ref. Completely disagree with the video commentator.
The thing most frustrating about Weibe’s PK “analyses” is saying that just because a player “didn’t have a chance to get the ball” or “wasn’t going back towards goal” that it shouldn’t be a PK and a foul should just be ignored.
Not only should Ruiz have seen a straight red against Farrell, he should have seen yellow earlier in the game as well (he also should have seen THREE yellows in their last game against New England but one of them was given to another Miami player who wasn't even remotely close to the play and VAR never attempted to review it for mistaken identity). Ruiz is one of the DIRTIEST players in MLS I have seen in a long time.
You start with a "serious foul play" incident which happens in the middle of the pitch. Then later you justify a blatant push into the sponsor boards of a vulnerable off-balance player, with zero attempt by the defender to play the ball. But because the fouled player was winning 4-0 and it was the end of the game, you excuse the violent conduct. That's a pretty inconsistent take.
So… we’re not even gonna take a look at the questionable angles used to “check” out of bounds on CLT’s 1st goal of the CLT v SEA game? STILL haven’t seen a video down the line to explain why they’d have thought that a player wholly feet out of bounds played a ball back in… and all the commentators said was “VAR check complete”. If it’s so obviously in bounds that the check was so quick, show it to us maybe? Or just be maybe say “no one knows. There’s no view to check or overturn. Differing to the call on the pitch”. But don’t make it sound like they looked at something they either didn’t or aren’t sharing with the rest of us.
VARs know what angles they have available (they have to be from broadcast cameras), so they can pretty quickly tell if they don't have an angle that would show a clear and obvious error. Thus "check complete" can be very quick - meaning "might be in, might be out, but there's no angle to say definitively so the call on the field stands".
Do not understand how the commentator advocates for a red card on Amundsen for the foul on Shaqiri but advocates for no foul no card for throwing someone into the boards in a 4-0 game. The latter is far more deserving of at least a yellow if not a direct red.
Exactly, he was completely wrong there..if the game is already decided all the more reason to enforce the laws so the next game doesn't get out of control.
Stadiums don't have the software to do so. It's expensive. I wish they would, but not many leagues have the money to afford it, and also not all teams play in stadiums that have the ability to get the proper placing for the camera equipment.
You know how the ref could have managed the Boxall issue and the game - straight red. There's no need for that shove into the boards, definitely endangered the safety of the player. Instead of "play on, let's get out of here", the ref could do their job and hand out cards where deserved.
4:36 If Wiebe thinks that it's fine to shoulder check someone into the end boards at the end of a match that has been clearly won by CF Montreal why is he advocating for a red during the Shaqiri incident from earlier in the video?
I need confirmation that the ball didn’t go out on charlottes FCs first or second goal v the sounders that thing looks well over the line idk y var didn’t call to the monitor
Regarding decisions you are double standard if the defender pushes an opponent in the box it's a penalty so the player pushed into the boards. If the role was reversed would you say free kick to the defender? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Admundsen should have seen red. Having had my achilles snapped by a tackle like that I can say that there is only malice in intent to commit that foul. Dangerous play, violent action and contact from behind with no intent to play the ball. The only thing that might have saved him was the Ref did not see the point of contact.
You really have to be extra violent to get a call in MLS on a challenge over a ball running out of bounds for a goal kick. It's really crazy what refs allow in those situations.
So with the Duke Boxall clash, you are saying that dangerous and foul play can go unpunished because the result is forgone and it will achieve nothing. Well no, violent play should never be ignored and a penalty goal my have an impact on goal difference at the end of the season.
Game management ignores justice. ¿What is it that players, coaches and fans whine about to no end, referee inconsistency? Consistency will improve if the Laws of the Games are called more consistently. The same foul should be called whether in the defending third or in the opponent's box. If it is a bookable offense, give the guy a slice of cheese.
Surprised theres no check on the offside called on Torres, he looked onside, if he was offside it was very tight. It isn't a call the linesman should be making, if it's offside then VAR will fix it.
No, no, for the luvagod no! Refs and linesmen should always call what they see. Delaying until the play is over is one thing, telling officials not to call what they see if one of the worst ideas ever. VAR can intervene if it has an angle, but if they don't have an angle to overturn, then they also wouldn't have then angle to make the call if the linesman ignores his job.
I'm piling onto what Boomcoach said. VAR does NOT referee the game. They look for errors. The referee and assistant referees (hasn't been linesmen for 30 years) make their own decisions as if VAR was available. They delay their offside flag if there's a goal scoring opportunity but still make the call on the field. VAR ONLY comes into play if they see something they think is wrong. I think it would be a complete disaster to have referees basically saying, "I have no idea. I sure hope they have a better angle than me upstairs."
I honestly thought the league was trying to get all the B S acting out of the game. Watching just showed everything that makes this game a joke. One rolled over almost six times. Talk about over acting. 😂
I do believe chara should have gotten a yellow as well but Jesus should have gotten a red for that yes chara wrapped his legs but than Jesus kicks or stomps that should be a red any day
@@Hawc51 Seriously, it couldn't have been more obvious that his arm was in Chara's throat. But even if he gave a yellow for that, he still should have seen yellow for the ATTEMPTED stomp (assuming that he missed) so yeah, there's two yellows to him and 1 to Chara. Jesus should have been sent packing regardless.
So no look at the charlotte first goal against the sounders fc where the player is clearly out of bounds, takes two steps, and is allowed to bring the ball back in?
@@bradyrees435 Have you seen a photo of the play from the goal line? I have not seen a great angle of the play yet but to me the ball looks like it was probably out of play.
I disagree. This exact foul has been on emphases in most referee trainings I have been in over the last few years. The way we are told to look at it is. The Achilles injury is an Career Ending Injury. So in most cases when someone stomps on the Achilles it should result in a red card for endangering the safety of the player. I will say that Shaqiri embellishing it does make it seem less like a red card, but every player does that now days. Everyone talks crap about neymar but when i do high level game ever player acts just like him. There are so many hypocrites playing the game now days.
Hard disagree on Boxall. Score is 4-0 in garbage time. Absolutely unnecessary. He knew what he was doing.
Exactly. Doesn’t matter what the score is. A foul is a foul. Even if they were up 20, that doesn’t negate the foul
A yellow card is a yellow card. Should have been called.
Webe showing his utter ignorance yet again. The neither the score nor the time matter at all. A foul in the box is a foul in the box. 100% PK.
"Game Management"? The game is over. Game management comes most into play at the other end of the clock. With that line of thought, defenders are free to start going for the knees with under 10 minutes to go if they're losing by enough.

A few weeks ago Boxall shoved an rsl defender into the keeper with both arms. Gave MacMath a concussion, no call there either. Dudes a dirtbag

The days of impact are long gone. For many years it has been simply whether the foul occurred or not. (meaning I agree with you)
Not only should Ruiz have seen a straight red against Farrell, he should have seen yellow earlier in the game as well (he also should have seen THREE yellows in their last game against New England but one of them was given to another Miami player who wasn't even remotely close to the play and VAR never attempted to review it for mistaken identity). Unrelated to anything, but love the Simic symbol as your icon.
Josh Wolff coaching and scoring in the same day!
Wish he coached as well as he scores.
its his son that scored 😭😭
Shaqiri doing his best Neymar impression lmao
Bro is still rolling to This day.

I forgot he was in MLS lol
That is all Shaqiri does. Someone sneezes near him and he hits the turn. He dives so much you would swear he was a CONCACAF vet.

That's Tyler Wolff
Why don’t you draw a line for offside in VAR in the MLS?
Stadiums don't have the software to do so. It's expensive. I wish they would, but not many leagues have the money to afford it, and also not all teams play in stadiums that have the ability to get the proper placing for the camera equipment.
Ruiz should be getting Red cards every game. He plays like the goal is to injure other players. It's fucked up
No red for amundsen then, for “game management’s” sake if it’s that simple. Makes more sense to say that at 19’ than 90’ anyways
You know how the ref could have managed the Boxall issue and the game - straight red. There's no need for that shove into the boards, definitely endangered the safety of the player.

Boxall take: dont call an obvious foul because it might hurt feelings. jesus
Shaqiri is lucky he's got monsterous calves.
POR DAL ref is a nightmare
Yeah his management of the game was abysmal from the outset.
Why is Galvan always in the instant replay😂
Rename this the "case to relieve Ted Unkel from reffing" show brought to you by laser optics surgery.

7:56 No violent conduct? wtf
Yeah. that is clearly an elbow in the neck if not chin.
instant reply has gone downhill, I miss when there was an accurate interpretation of the LOTG, it’s disappointing
Yes Webe is bloody awful. Bring back Davies. Hell I'd even settle for Borg at this point.
I need confirmation that the ball didn’t go out on charlottes FCs first or second goal v the sounders that thing looks well over the line idk y var didn’t call to the monitor
there aren't any cameras that give good angles for those calls, so var can't check
So we go by the book depending on the situation?
And then we complain about corruption in fifa.😂
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Regarding decisions you are double standard if the defender pushes an opponent in the box it's a penalty so the player pushed into the boards. If the role was reversed would you say free kick to the defender? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Orlando city is ballin. Angulo will be on the move.
MLS is actually insane.
If you want insanity, search on youtube "Cuando Argentina y Brasil enseñaron como se juega un clásico en Sudamérica y se dieron sin asco"
DId we not look at midweek games where Brad Guzan barreled through Murillo?
So with the Duke Boxall clash, you are saying that dangerous and foul play can go unpunished because the result is forgone and it will achieve nothing. Well no, violent play should never be ignored and a penalty goal my have an impact on goal difference at the end of the season.

(wrong Wolff)
It's funny that they have to explain the rules to the fans😂😂
А мне нравятся такие разборы
wtf dude boxhall?
Ander the probablly most likley reason that there was no red card on columbis becuase it is early in the game
Go, Mark Allatin. He's come a long way since I last worked with him. Must be my mentoring!
Miami should have gotten a red catd cheap foul late in game i dont think well done by center referee
